Konkin Auto Group specializes in Rebuilt (Branded) title vehicles. These are vehicles that are damaged to the point of insurance salvage and then repaired to rebuilt status and safe to drive. I believe most if not all of their vehicles are restored to where they don't look damaged at all. The truck I bought looks perfect! Pricing is considerably lower than retail values. In my case, I purchased a 2021 Ranger XLT that was restored to near perfection at about 23% below retail and that price also included a robust Warranty Plan. After purchasing the Ranger, I took it to Courtesy Ford and they could not tell it was ever damaged! The inspection resulted in perfect status. The only non-issue is that the new bumper it has is not parking sensor capable which this model has as standard. No fault of Konkin and no issue for me. The backup display handles this safety alert just fine. The sales experience with Tim was very personable and easy. I am retired and have purchased many vehicles over the years. We narrowed it down to two vehicles, and Konkin had one of them, a 2021 Nissan Kicks. While it had a rebuilt title, that did not scare me as I have bought them before. As long as the damage is fixed correctly, it should be good as new. Driving it showed me the damage was fixed correctly. They showed me pictures of what was fixed. There was no pressure to buy and no haggling. They even took our personal check. Our son loves his new car, and we feel confident in his safety. DO NOT trust nor do business with this company. I knew I was buying a salvage vehicle and understood the inherent risks that go with buying one. But, I had an independent mechanic conduct a pre-purchase inspection and also purchased a five year extended warranty. The mechanic found no major issues, so I felt comfortable buying it. I made the trip from Chico California to Portland by Amtrak (14 plus hours) so that I could see and drive it for myself. Unfortunately, in the 20-25 minutes it took the Uber driver to go from Amtrak to their office, upon walking into the lot saw a major dent on the driver side door. The salesperson stayed a parking lot attendant had hit the vehicle causing significant damage to the door and panel to the right of the door. I would have had a body shop give an estimate but it was after 5 pm on a Friday (March 24, 2023) by the time I got to the dealership and the salesperson assured me there was no structural damage. There was no reasonable way to stay Friday, Sat and Sunday to get a quote(s) from at least one or two body shops that Monday. The owner indicated it would only cost them $1000 to fix it and they'd ship it to me. Not wanting to trust their work I requested they agree to pay the cost based on at least three quotes in Chico. They said no and settled on only covering me for $2500. I should've known better but was exhausted and didn't want to take a train back. It was exceedingly bad decision to acquiesce and am now stuck with this problem. I got completely ripped off because the damage to the vehicle that they did, supposedly in the 20 minute ride from Amtrak. For all I know is the damage happened days before I left Chico and they knew if I got there after traveling such a long distance I'd be less likely to walk away. Now I'm looking at least spending another $6000 to repair the damage because of structural damage to the driver side door post, having to replace the driver side door with a new down, and damage further down. I would never recommend this company as they clearly knew this vehicle had more substantial damage than what they indicated. Making it more skeevy was the salesperson telling me they would be fixing it in house & would only cost the owner $1000 to make the repairs. In retrospect, it tells me they're either ignorant, incompetent or outright deceptive. Let my crappy decision serve as a warning that you will likely get ripped off. Do not use this company because the salespeople and owner are unscrupulous. If I could give less than a one star I would. read more

I am happy to report that Rod (owner of Konkin Auto) called me immediately and offered three options for me to choose from, of which I agreed to return the vehicle. He paid for the vehicle to be picked up by a hauler and had it transported to his lot. Throughout the entire discussion Rod was amazing. Despite what I wrote (which I can not delete but would given the amazing customer service), I would buy from him again without hesitation. BAIT & SWITCH!!! I found a vehicle I was interest in online priced at $11,911 using Autotrader and also on the Konkin website. I submitted a TrueCar request and received an offer back for $200 less. I called Konkin and talked to Dennis who answered some questions and quoted me a price to ship the vehicle to NV. Dennis suggested I place a deposit on the car to hold it for a few days while I scheduled a local mechanic to do an inspection prior to having the vehicle shipped. I placed a $300 deposit and my credit card was charged. About 30 min later, I received a call from Dennis informing me that the owner didn't realize what mode the car was and the price would now be $18,000! I've worked in retail for 22 years and this is an illegal business practice. I asked Dennis if they'd a least meet me halfway on the price this this was their error and I'd already reserved the car at the advertised price. I was told no, and then offered to have my deposit refunded. They also informed me there would be a transaction fee at the time of my deposit, however they didn't refund the fee when they credited back the deposit so I actually lost money in this shady transaction. Called the dealership few times, talked with Larry and Rod on Monday for scheduling a test drive around 10:30 on Tuesday When I reached the dealership , price got changed to $10,295. Left very disappointed , will not do any business with Konkin Auto Group. Zero stars. Avoid this dealer and save your time and extra stress. Rating for the dealership online seems fake. When I told Larry that it was listed for $8500 , he didn't clearly let me know, that he'll honor the advertised price. He told me that he would lower it from $10,295 to $10,000. My Daughter and I purchased a Subaru Tribeca from Konkin Auto Group. She is new to the area and attending school in Portland. Absolutely everyone we encountered at the dealership was attentive, considerate and zero pressure to sell someone a vehicle they were not comfortable with. We had the opportunity to listen to other customers ask questions and to listen to the responses. Very professional and honest responses. While waiting for the transaction to finalize we had engine problems with my friends car we had borrowed while staying in the area. Not knowing the area, I called Rod and explained the situation to him. He arranged a tow truck company to pick up our borrowed car and to have it towed to his shop at our request. His mechanic diagnosed the problem, ordered the part and performed the repair. During the entire situation, everyone who answered the phone assured us we were in good hands and that Rod would take care of us. (Including the mechanic) He certainly did. I can honestly say I have never been treated so fairly at a dealership and the entire group seemed engaged in the effort to fix our problem. As far as the Trebeca was concerned, we could not be happier with our purchase. Clean vehicle with solid engine that is everything advertised. BAD EXPERIENCE, Suggest NOT dealing with this place. This is a " NO STAR" rating. We bought vehicle they said was in excellent shape, and when we got it to the dealership, we realized it had been neglected for quite some time. We purchased a 2015 Honda CRV-EX-L for my daughter on 24 March 2021. During this visit, my family was present, and the owner was there as well. None of them were wearing masks while in very close proximity as we completed our transaction in a very small office space. The owner, seemed upset, ad spoke in a very loud voice, making my kids and wife feel very uncomfortable. They were about to walk out on him. The next day, Dennis calls me and asks why I gave them one star rating, so I began explaining my opinion that I had to spend an additional $ 607.25 on this vehicle right after I purchased it to "catch up" its routine maintenance. To misrepresent maintenance completed on the vehicle, the owner went as far as putting a fake oil change sticker in the windshield which misrepresented the care of this vehicle maintenance plan. The owner was upset that I gave him a bad review, he told me to bring the car back and he would buy it back, I told him first of all, inconveniencing my family is not how this works, and if he had been honest up front, we wouldn't be having this conversation. He got so upset at me on the phone, I had to hang up. Later he called, and left an apology on my voice mail. I asked him to at least pay for the $ 607.25 service we did, he laughed and told me NO. If I had NOT believed them and took it to a mechanic and learned this vehicle actual condition, we would NOT have purchased this car at all.
