I was so excited to see Modesto was getting a legit ramen place and excited to finally go in and eat there. The staff was friendly and informative, helping to guide me through the menu and gave suggestions on what to order. For an appetizer I got the gyoza, which were nice and crispy and full of the delicious pork-mixture. Also got a side of egg sando, which was basically an egg salad sandwich on Japanese milk bread. The sandwich was simple and classic. The main part of my meal was the Garlic Shoyu Ramen, which I got medium spicy. The standouts in the ramen were the egg and the broth, but the whole bowl was absolutely amazing. Definitely recommend to anyone who loves a hearty bowl of ramen and I can't wait to go back and try more items off the menu! read more

I really loved this place when it first opened and had high hopes for it! It had a specific vibe to it and had really quirky/geeky and cool artsy vibes with art work on the wall from various artists. I took my nephew and niece a few times and dad...but as I kept going the quality of the food was getting bad. They don't use the same milk bread for the Sandos anymore which is a bummer. My fav Sandos were from here and local. The last time I came was earlier this year, I was excited to come back, it was at lunch time and there really wasn't too many people it was just me and two other parties. The girl that was taking orders took 40 min just to come by and get mine and on top of that she didn't really know the menu and didn't really seem to care at all. She catered to the other guests and could have gotten mine first as it's just a party of one in a very small space. Once my food came she never refilled my cup or checked up on me. The poor lady who was making the food that came and gave me my plate had to go get the water. Not only that I was really polite with her and you can clearly tell being a waitress isn't something she should be doing. Besides that I made artwork to put on the wall for the owner (I'm an artist myself) I asked Maribell (waitress name) if I could meet the owner and tell him that I loved this place. I was going to come by later and give him my artwork. I met the owner he's a nice guy. I came back later that day to give him my artwork but unfortunately he left for the day but Maribell was there. She told me she'd give it to him or let the others know and even record his reaction. She even added me on instagram and said she'd do it. I called two days later someone picked up and said he hasn't been in yet. Ok, so I waited another week, a few weeks...nothing they told me they will let him know. It's been about 3 months and I have not gotten a word he received it yet. Sadly to say I felt I was ignored and not taken care of that day, this used to be my fav ramen place. My only regret is that I didn't come eat here sooner. I am vegan and they have some delicious vegan options. My first time, I ordered to go. The food transferred well and was super delicious. I got the edamame, which you can ask to be made vegan. I also go the tofu masubi, absolutely phenomenal. As well as the vegan ramen, yum. The second time I ordered to go, the same thing and added extra tofu to the ramen. Third time I think I went in to eat. I've been ordering to go so much I've lost track. I have such fond memories of the location being the old Bauer's 66 1/2, so I feel right at home in the restaurant. The service is great, the ladies that take orders are super kind and the service is prompt. My friend that I ate with really enjoyed the non vegan ramen option that he ordered, and got down on my edamame and tofu masubi. I love the anime sprinkled in the decor. I am so excited to have this wonderful spot, with vegan options so accessible to me. I will be eating here regularly all winter. I definitely recommend going in and trying it for yourself. I went to Konfucious Eats on 1/10/2024 with a friend for lunch and I had a very delightful experience. The ambience was nice and simple. We were greeted and seated promptly. We started by ordering the Spicy Edamame which was delicious. (Highly recommend as a starter). As part of my entree I ordered the Bulgogi Ramen which delivered in the presentation aspect of it and chefs executed their job well done with the flavor of the whole ramen itself. I ordered mine spicy and it was a perfect seasoning to spice ratio that made it pleasant to enjoy all the flavors had to offer while still getting a hint of spice in every bite. I rate my Ramen a 10/10 for the fact that everything had good overall flavor to it and also the portioning is great. The bulgogi and pork belly were amazing and the egg was outstanding. This is place is truly great! I came down to Modesto from LA to visit my parents, and this place has been one of my highlights. I got the Kaarage Rice Bowl and Spicy Edamame. The Kaarage Rice Bowl was packed with flavor. The veggies were perfectly cooked. The chicken was tender, juicy, and plentiful. The rice was outstanding, it was fluffy and tasted like they just got done making it. The Spicy Edamame is some of the best I've had. At a lot of places they just throw on some chili powder or chili oil, but here it had a delicious chili paste with finely chopped garlic and spices. First time coming here during Saturday afternoon a week before Christmas. Theres limited seating and it was packed but got the last available table which we were kindly allowed to use while me and my family waited for our take out order. The Menu has everything my daughter and i love. She eats strictly vegetarian and thats still challenging in Modesto when eating out. The portions are plentiful and the food is delicious. It's hard to go wrong here. The new menu is so we've been coming multiple times per week. By now we feel like good friends, and everyone knows our names (cue Cheers theme song). If you love salt, get the Shio Tonkotsu. The broth is rich, fatty, savory, and just salty enough to make your jaw tingle. The flavor gets more complex if you add Black Garlic Oil. Ichiraku is miso based and we highly recommend adding roasted corn, as corn and miso together are Karage is our picky 10 year old's favorite, and it's hard not to start off the meal with gyōza. I love the amount of ginger in the filling. Ernie is doing an Unagi Don special right now, and we're hoping he makes this a permenwnt, or seasoning menu offering. It's so buttery and savory We've been supporting this place since they first started, and it has been a true pleasure to witness the evolution of the food over time as it grows more complex and sophisticated. Presentation was very cute but ohhh my goodness the noodles were so hard it was like chewing rubber gum. The other waitress however was very nice and attentive to her tables, so maybe ours was having a rough day ‍ The appetizers came out immediately, the spicy edamame was soggy and lukewarm The Karrage was on point though, super delicious We both ordered the Shouyu Ramen and added tofu. The pork & tofu were delicious, the noodles were buttery however the broth fell short. I tried this place for the first time this week... It seemed like a lot of ingredients were missing.. the potstickers were tiny.. Paid extra for fishcake, yet none of our orders had fishcake.. My stomach is in pain now after I ate it as well.. something just wasn't right. The meal we received was worth maybe 20$ combined, at most.. I paid $70.. painful.. It didn't look like all the pictures I see here.. at all.. soooo much was missing from the bowl. Sauce was not clear at all.. I am feeling so sick.
