I must have gotten lucky, because although I had to wait for an hour, as I do with with almost any appointment I get with a doctor, when I finally saw her, I found her to be a very good listening with great suggestions. Maybe this is how it goes the first time around? I am not sure, since I have only been once. But I can say that medical care has declined and changed drastically since Covid, so I am seeing this at just about all of the places I go. After the first initial visit, I really don't see why I would need to see too much of her anyways, unless I guess I have questions. I have an account with Labcorp, so I see my blood test results before the doctor's do, and they are easy to read. Therefore, test results shouldn't e too much of an issue. She was supposed to do a procedure to remove my thyroid, but she didn't show up. The assistant couldn't start the procedure without her, so they kept calling her, but she was never found. The assistant called the main office, and she ended up working with another doctor, so I could continue with the procedure. She never showed up nor apologized for the incident. After the incident, I continued with Dr. Konca because I didn't want to go through the trouble of changing doctors. Recently, she canceled an appointment that was scheduled six months ago. I had already taken blood work to meet with her, and she canceled. She is unpredictable and does not show that she cares about her patients, so I would not recommend picking her as your doctor. Also, her offices never pick up the phone or remind you of an appointment or return calls, so working with them is hard. I don't understand why she is still in operation. My feeling is that she uses incompetent office staff to blame them, and the only people who stay with her are the elderly or people who feel they do not have a choice to switch doctors. It's too bad, the doctors and physicians assistants are good at this office! But whoever is in charge of answering the phones, I don't think exist! You'll have a drive to the office to get some information that can be easily handled over the phone. The reception office seems adequately staff and every time I'm there, they easily check your In and out without delay. I've never seen the office busy! They should be able to answer phone calls. My advice, when you're in the office, tell your physician that you can't get through by phone call. No one is answering the phone at all! It goes to an answering machine, which I'm not sure if they even check. Ask your physician for their direct number, if no one is capable of answering the phone! Get everything set up as much as you can while there, follow up appt set up, pick up your prescription forms, blood test forms, make sure they call for your prescription refill while you're there! Hoping that the poor reviews will lead to a change in the practice of this office. I was referred to Dr. Konca by my PCP. Referral was approved by insurance but it is impossible to get a hold of anyone at this office. When I called I would get a busy signal or be sent to voicemail. The mailbox is full so you can't even leave a message. I had to file a grievance with this office and be referred to another endocrinologist. Please get it together and fast! I work in patient care and know how an office should be ran and this is not it. Your office cannot continue to stay in business if you keep going on like this. VERY lousy front office!!! It is ALWAYS a gamble as to whether or not the phone is busy, and when you DO get through, you are put on hold from 10 to 30 minutes! I usually give up after 10 and just keep calling back, because my time is MORE valuable than waiting on hold for the lazy front office. This office must be incredibly busy because it is virtually impossible to get a hold of someone at the office. You call in, and someone answers and asks to put you on hold. Then, you proceed to hold for over 30 minutes each time, and sometimes they just hang up on you. This is the most unprofessional doctor's office I have ever come across. I had received a referral for Dr. Konca from my primary care physician in December. She was busy as expected so my first appointment was scheduled in January. Well a day before my appt the office calls me and tells me that the doctor will be out of the country for 2 months. So now I am scheduled for an appt at the end of March. I arrive at the location and I find no office. So I called. It turns out that they relocated without telling me and nothing online was updated. So third time's the charm and I get rescheduled in May. I drove from 2 hours away to be able to make it to the appt. I finally make it to the office only for them to tell me Dr. Konca isn't in. They said, "We tried calling but we couldn't even get through to voicemail." It turns out they tried calling my house phone and I said "Even if you were able to leave a message I actually work during the day so I wouldn't have even gotten it." So then I asked them if they had my cell phone on file and after the lady scans the screen she finds it. I asked her why she wouldn't call my cell if she couldn't get through on the first number. She stared blankly at me and said hold on, then walked away. Then she has the audacity to come back to her chair and tell me that she can reschedule me for next week. I said, "You guys have rescheduled me for 5 months, you gave me the wrong address the first time, you had my cell phone on file and didn't bother calling to inform me, and I drove 2 hours to get here. I will not reschedule and I will never come back again." I know this is long but I hope whoever reads this while deciding on a doctor, you skip Dr. Konca. I had to wait 3 months to see Dr Ewa H Konca. The day of my appointment they called me to cancel because she was sick on a Monday. They told me that they only had openings until December which is in another 2 months. After I got upset and I asked to talk to the manager they gave me another appointment a week later but now they call me again because she called sick on Monday once again. "Thank you for calling Dr. Konca's office, if this call is not an emergency, may I place you on a brief hold?" If you ever call this office, this is what you'll hear before you'll be ignored until you hang up out of frustration. The staff just sits around doing nothing and the doctor is rarely in the office. My grandmother has been a patient for several years and has no idea what Dr. Konca even looks like. She lets NPs take care of the majority of her caseload which is tackled at such a slow pace that it can only be called negligence. If you end up with this doctor, heed my advice and switch to a new PCP as soon as possible. I'm switching my grandmother to a new provider as soon as her insurance allows. The low level of care provided at this practice is shameful. The paycheck for not doing anything must be pretty nice in order to drag your reputation as a doctor through the mud like that. I've told myself that it's probably a simple case of having too many patients. I'll be filing a complaint with the Medical Board of California and I encourage others with similar experiences to do the same. read more

My first appointment I sat in the room for :45 minutes before someone came in and told me Dr. Konca had gone home for the day. Ridiculous. I had to reschedule. after many years seeing dr konca i'll take that back you do not see dr konca only a np. dr konca is aways out of town pushing one of her dietary powders or other non medical items. the office staff in rancho cucamonga ca is clueless. so after many year i asked to get diabetic shoes since she said i was diabetic. i made an appointment with the people who order the shoes they fitted me for the shoes but needed dr konca to fill out some medical forms required by medicare. after several weeks the forms were returned to the people who fitted the shoes the forms were filled out incorrect. they needed to be correct and completed when i complained to her staff they said dr konca would send in the additional requested information.this was confirmed by the people ordering the shoes. on june 6 2019 i was informed by the shoe people that dr konca would not be sending any forms since she was discharging me from her clinic .i called her office and they confirmed that i was discharged from her clinic. what a joke very unprofessional dr. and staff . she could care less . remember dr konca " doctor do no harm" do not see this doctor if you care about your health. she is to busy doing other non-medical things. jim s. read more

There is no chance that I would ever recommend her to anyone. I did recommend her at first to a friend of mine but she ended up canceling her appointment after seeing what I went through. My first appointment went well with Dr Konca. The Dr took her time with me and sat down during our appointment. When we finished she told me to call her with any questions or concerns. After seeing my lab results the day after as a RN myself, I was very concerned. I called the office many times during the week but she refused to return my phone calls and her office girls stated that the Dr wants me to make an appointment if I have questions and she does not have time to talk to me via telephone. At one point I was put on hold for 35 mins with a hang up from the staff at the end. The staff asked for my pharmacy number at 4 different times but still did not call in my prescriptions in when needed. They treated me like a drug addict when I just wanted my thyroid medication to be adjusted according to my labs (as was suggested). At first the Dr "started" me on lower dose then I already take and I asked the MA why, and she stated she had no idea and she was just relaying the message to me from Dr Konca. I asked the MA to remind the Dr that what dose I was already on. So a week later and after many calls from me the MA Finally called in my Prescription for a higher dose and the respond I received was "oh she didn't know you were on medication already" which was clearly written in my chart twice. I was told I needed an authorization to see the doctor. I didn't know that. I asked "Where can I get an au..." I got interrupted and asked what type of insurance I have. Dr. Konca spent 30 minutes with a sales representative before she saw me 45 minutes late. Then she listened to me for about a minute, and then spent 5 minutes telling me how she knows exactly what I need because she has similar health problems. Lastly she tried to sell me expensive cosmetics that are not FDA approved medicine.
