Absolutely flabbergasted at how this establishment is ran. Where do I begin? I don't understand how it's possible to give another customer someone else's order. I get that people can have the same name, but what's the point of asking for a phone number to pick up an order if you're only relying on names? I had asked my wife to pick up my order since I've been working a lot and needed my clothes for work. When she arrived, she was told that my order had already been picked up. My wife explained that wasn't possible because I was at work. Despite this, they insisted that I had someone else pick it up and wouldn't listen to what she was saying. She assured them it wasn't possible since it's just the two of us, and I was clearly working at the time. At this point, another worker gets involved and asks to see a picture of me. I think that's an absolutely insane thing to ask, basically assuming my wife is lying. They hadn't been too apologetic too. My wife calls during this and explains to me the situation. I ask what can they do to remedy this? One worker asked the other, "Are you sure someone in the family didn't already pick it up?" The other worker admitted their mistake, saying, "No, I messed up--I gave the order to someone else." Shocked, my wife asked what they planned to do about it. They told her to give them until Friday. Frustrated by the lack of clarity and the conversation going in circles, my wife requested something in writing. Please see the attached photograph. Not only did they give away my order; one of the workers insisted my wife was essentially lying - taking no accountability on their end. They offered no solution; no type of peace of mind and nothing for their mistake. The next 2 days; I waited to see if they would call me or text me - and it was radio silence. I get the text message today that my order is ready; so I head over. When I checked in, the worker apologized once, saying they were sorry for giving my order to someone else. That was it--no coupon, no credits, nothing. The ultimate slap in the face was being made to pay. Excuse me--what? You lose my order and can't even do the bare minimum to make it right? Instead, they applied a discount (even though I had already used a 15% discount when I dropped off my clothes). I wasn't about to argue, but this was absolutely ridiculous and incredibly disappointing customer service. It's not about the money, it's about the principle! Brought my suits and dress shirts here for the first time. To my surprise when I got home I noticed they had glued barcode stickers to the inside of my shirts and suits. No one ever asked for my permission. I will never go there again and do not recommend. This is unacceptable. read more

They have zero ability to escalate issues on a Saturday because "the manager doesn't work weekends". I was also told that even if they did call, she wouldn't answer. I'm sorry when you are open for business on a weekend day, you need to provide your staff the ability to resolve customer issues. I will NEVER use them again. I would give 0 stars if I could. My husband dropped off a white dress to get some wrinkles out for family pictures on Saturday (4/19). When he went to go pick it up the guy working there said it's considered a wedding dress and normally they charge $400 and was going to discount it to $83. This WAS NOT discussed during drop off. My husband dropped off the dress and they said it would be ready the next day. So the guy there stated they send off the items and when it got to the factory they categorized it as a wedding dress. There was no communication and they expected us to just pay that. It's a scam. So my husband said he wasn't going to pay that amount and to call someone. The guy called the owner and over the phone the owner had an attitude and said it's considered a wedding dress. Again it's not a wedding dress, it's just a nice white dress for family pictures. After lots of complaining and fighting they were able to charge us for a cocktail dress. This was unacceptable and we will not be returning to this dry cleaners. They need to be specific with customers and call before doing the service if we are ok with that price. $400 and $83 was ridiculous. I didn't even pay $83 for the dress!!! Won't be coming here again. Dropped off 8 100% cotton dress shirts and a 3 pants for press only. We were never given an invoice or receipt when leaving. The guy said it was 20% off but not sure what the price was. Ok??? Came to pick them up and the bill was $75! Then the manager Karla claimed we were rude to their poor employees when we wanted to know why we were charged so much, even though she was not there to witness it. EDIT: Karla replied and made a lot of accusations and insulations even though she was not there. The only time race was brought up is to describe the person who took out clothes, after being asked what the person LOOKED like. Also no price was ever given or told to use at the time of drop off. I came to Kona to have two outfits altered for my mom's 90th birthday back in March. Elvie, the seamstress on duty, was swamped with work at the time, but graciously fit my pieces into her schedule. She did excellent work on a tight turnaround and my mother and I will be eternally grateful to her for the service she provided. If you like paying too much for fresh wrinkled shirts, this is the place for you! I have had bad experiences with this place and vowed never to return; however, my wife made a mistake and took six of my shirts in to get dry-cleaned. When I picked them up, I was told the total was $51 which was difficult to believe, but I paid it and went home. Once I got home, I unwrapped the clothes and saw how badly they were pressed and noticed the sleeves were twisted and wrinkled. I immediately took them back (which was less than 5 minutes after picking them up) and was told they didn't look that bad and I should have told them I wanted the sleeves done. I might not be very smart but I always believed sleeves were part of a shirt. This time, it was a mistake to bring my clothes here, and will not come back in the future. Asked for military creases on a shirt. upon getting home after picking up I noticed it was not done. I called them first thing this morning to see if they can correct this issue since I needed it for a company event for 6am tomorrow (Saturday). Dropped off my dress for tailoring on Monday to be picked up on Wednesday and it was ready by Tuesday even better. Dropped off few pieces for dry cleaning and a pair pants for length alteration that wasn't done. Went in for a repair on a cami dress. One of my straps came off on one end. They had told us it would be done by Wednesday, which was great since I needed it for Christmas Eve (Sunday). They did not call us to let us know it was ready so my husband called on Thursday to get an update. They said it was fixed on Wednesday but for some reason shipped it elsewhere to get it pressed. Now it's Saturday and still no dress, and they're closed on Sundays. I don't understand why they had to send my dress elsewhere when they said i would be able to retrieve it on Wednesday. Brought in a jacket that was a gift from my father with a super minor stain to be cleaned, at first they assured me they could remove the stain no problem. After I got the jacket back from being serviced, I realized they ruined the jacket. What originally was a minor stain turned into a not only one but multiple major black marks all over the jacket. When I brought back the jacket, the employee agreed the jacket was ruined and initiated a multi-week process to determine what happened to the jacket which I thought was extremely unessecary. Kona did NOT communicate with me AT ALL throughout this process ignoring what was going on. I reached out to them to see what was happening with my jacket every single time we communicated. After patiently waiting and multiple phone calls, they attempted to restore the jacket to the condition it was in before I brought it in. Not only did the original stain I brought the jacket in for remain but there are now multiple new random dark marks throughout the jacket. The employee gave me a "sorry". Worst customer service ever. Management is deceitful. Maria (manager) is a waste of time and needs to be replaced ASAP. Don't bother voicing your complaints as she has no clue how to fix issues. I've used this location for years (when it was previously called Boston Cleaners) and never had any issues. The location has since been purchased and changed into "Kona Cleaners"; and problems run amuck in this establishment now. I received an email in early December from Maria (the manager) with a coupon for "25% off all dry cleaning and shirt laundry services" with an expiration date for 12/9/17. Twenty five percent off is a great incentive so I decided to take in some laundry. When I went in on 12/7/17, I ran a bill of $50 and some change. When I showed the clerk (Alexis I believe) my coupon, she hesitated and said something to the effect of, "I think you can only use this coupon for drop offs"- basically implying that I could not use this coupon AND pay now. Red flag #1. Nowhere in the email and/or coupon does it mention "VALID FOR DROP OFFS ONLY". How the clerk came to this conclusion is a mystery. I presume she was just being difficult for the sake of being difficult. Unshaken by her attitude, I remained silent while she figured out what buttons to press. After a few minutes she gave me a new total of $45.76. Red flag # 2. My original total was $50 plus. The coupon is 25% off. The new total is $45.76. How does that make sense? Even a 4th grader will tell you $5 off of $50 is 10%, not 25%. When I told her the discount she gave me was not equal to 25%, she responded defensively and quickly with "The computer does everything" - as if to say the situation was now out of her hands and that I should accept a moronic excuse for an explanation. Reluctantly I paid the $45.76 anyway since I had already spent a great deal of time in the store for something that should take no more than a few minutes. When Alexis offered a receipt I told her I would need it to explain to the manager this misstep. The air was tense in the store by now and even the nice lady who I believe is the seamstress was quiet with embarrassment. Within 5 minutes of leaving, I received a call from a "Carla" representing Kona Cleaners (I imagine Alexis called her manager or customer service). I explained the situation to Carla to which she replied with, "that coupon expired yesterday." Red flag # 3. The date was 12/7. "Yesterday" (see Carla) would be 12/6. The coupon clearly states VERBATIM "valid today through 12/9/2017!" I told Carla the error on her part and that the coupon was still good, and would be for another 2 days still. Where Carla got this information is also a mystery, but it seems Kona Cleaners associates are reading information entirely different than from what they are sending out to customers. After another several awkward minutes of deliberation, Carla assured me that: 1) My 25% off coupon would in fact be honored and my new total would reflect that ($35.74). 2) The original amount that I was charged ($45.76) would be refunded within 7-10 business days. It's now been almost 1 month since the incident (12/7/17) and there has been no refund. That means I've been charged twice ($45.76) and ($35.74) for the same transaction. Not only are these people running this store incompetent, but they are also crooks. Take your business elsewhere (there's a new place that opened by Smart & Final across town). I was very dissapointed with their customer service and whoever is in charge of advertisement. I took in my patio cushions to be cleaned because a coupon and return date I received. An email advertisement I received from Kona, stated I would receive my cushions by June 4 if I turned them in by May 28. When I turned them in, my ticket stated I would receive them by June 1st. To my dismay, I didn't get a phone call until the 11th saying they were ready to be picked up. I wanted to speak to the manager and she offer me $10 off a $42 bill. Very unscrupulous practice!!!!!!! I don't even want to give one star. This place is horrible. When I took my shirts for alteration they told me it would be $18 each. Then they told me it will take about 2-3 weeks, which I agreed. 2 weeks later the Altailor called and confirmed my shirts will be ready in a day or two, however after I called them 3 days later. They told me it won't be ready for another week. I asked them why, but all I got was the date they put on the ticket is 3 weeks later and I shouldn't call them before that date. I just don't understand why they have different sayings with the Altailor. And the manger's attitude was so rude, she blamed me calling them before the due date. When my shirts are finally ready for pick up. Things happened again. First they told me the price is $25 instead of $18. Then they told me the sample shirt I left for them isn't here, so I will have to come back again and pick that up. I'm really regret about wasting my time and money in this horrible place.
