Edamame

5/5 on food and service. What a hidden gem. It's Easter so there's not many people out around noon. We weren't wanting to drive into downtown today so we tried something a little more local. This place is very affordable & very delicious sushi. We also had pan-fried gyoza + edamame. Both cooked perfectly. Portions were just right. Would definitely return.

We've driven past this place a million times, finally decided to stop. Small restaurant along a popular strip mall. Inside is clean and kept open. Greeted immediately upon arrival and told to pick a seat. The waitress was running the floor by herself, but seemed to be handling with grace. We took advantage of the awesome priced lunch menu. A spicy crab salad and a few rolls was the perfect amount for the two of us. The Spicy Crab salad is one of my favorites that I have tried all around in my travels. This one was fresh, with a good amount of meat, but was very bland in flavor. I always figure in the Midwest, you cater to the clientele. Not a big deal overall. The two rolls were a great size and very fresh tasting. Our drinks were kept topped off. The waitress was very friendly. The food was pretty decent. We will definitely try this place again, especially because it's right down the road from us here in Parkville.

As usual great service, fresh fish with a nice presentation and quick service. No waiting for a Father's Day party of 6. Casual atmosphere. Updated photo from tonight posted.

Location: Parkville Ambiance: not fancy but family oriented place. Food: fish is fresh. Excellent sushi rolls. Price is unbeatable. Maki trio enough for 2-3 people. Service: efficient. Very good. Yelp factor: easily one of the best sushi places on this side of the river (northland)

5 Stars: A definite recommendation and a personal favorite! You HAVE to try this place! 4 Stars: Great experience. Strongly Recommend you stop by. A place I plan to frequent. Just shy of being a favorite. 3 Stars: Average experience. Great to try once but not a place l plan to frequent. 2 Stars: Poor experience. There were mistakes with the meal or it may have just been a bad day for the establishment. 1 Star: Terrible experience. Avoid at all cost. Summary: A solid, casual spot for indulging your craving for sushi (specifically rolls). If I'm in the area, I can see myself returning for the lunch special and rolls, but will pass on nigiri. It isn't anything fancy nor is it trying to be. The "unassuming" description is spot on. For more details, please see below! I ordered the lunch special with an assortment of nigiri + one roll (salmon avocado roll). As a side, I got the miso soup. Miso soup: a solid, standard miso soup. Has all the toppings one would want: tofu, seaweed, and green onion. Sushi: For $15, it was a good lunch special! However, my advice is to stick with the rolls. You'll have a much better experience and bang for your buck ordering a variety of rolls vs. the nigiri. The nigiri did not stand out and frankly below average. As a heads up, wasabi is only provided on the side and not included inside the nigiri. Service: The waitress was welcoming and helpful. My only input, it would have been nice to get a rundown of the fishes served as nigiri. As a side note, I thought it was cute how they had "Kome Sushi" engraved on the chopsticks!

Kome Sushi is a hidden gem! I have driven past it many times without noticing the unsuspecting location. I'm so glad I did. I visited on a Friday night and service was friendly and very efficient. We started with a crab rangoon and sashimi appetizer, and then I ordered a salmon roll and a rainbow roll. All the food was delicious, tasted fresh, and was prepared quickly. The restaurant itself was quiet and perfect for visiting with a friend. I also felt the meal was very reasonably priced for quality sushi. I'll definitely be back.

Have been coming to neighboring restaurants to this for years and somehow just never noticed it being here. The outside of it doesn't do it justice. It looks old and closed. Going in it's clean and newish looking. We were craving sushi and wanted to try a new place so we got on here for recommendations and mapped it. We were shocked that we didn't know about this great place other than maybe we are idiots. Haha. Anyway, the people who run this were so friendly and accommodating the edimame was fresh and tasty. Crab Rangoon was probably the best I'd had in a long time and we eat Asian very often, it tasted so freshly made and great flavor. We had 3 types of rolls and some sushimi (Tuna and Salmon). We loved everything so much and ate it so fast I didn't get pictures of all 3 or the names again of each. But we loved everything and will definitely be back and probably more than the neighboring places we frequent. So happy we found it!

"Spicy" crab salad on the left and 3 orders of sashimi, one nigiri on the right

Decent quality food for the price overall. The crab salad was heavy with Panko/tempura bits, not spicy and had no fish roe as advertised though. The sashimi tasted fresh but was a small portion for the price tag. The crab rangoons and white rice were similar to most standard take out. Their take on onion soup is delicious with extra veg. like zucchini added in.

a bowl of soup and a tray of sushi

Ordered delivery twice from this spot and both times I got the Kome special. The fish is fairly good quality, nothing too spectacular but not bad at all. They have such a good price for the combo considering you get 9 pieces of sashimi, 6 pieces of sushi, and a spider roll (which is huge) as well as a side of soup or salad, all for $30. It was good enough for me to order again from them and with the limited options in NKC, this is probably one of the better sushi spots.

I had never heard of this place, but I'm definitely glad I found it! Just in a little strip center, not looking like much, but packing a lot of flavor. The service was quick and efficient which is a plus! You can tell it's personally owned!! We ordered 4 different rolls and all were very delicious. One of them had a thin slice of lemon on the top, I was skeptical at first, but it actually tasted really great! I would recommend this place for any sushi lover looking for something off the beaten path!

It's good sushi but the lighting could definitely be more thought out. It's either way to bright at one table or way to dark at another.

Em Chamas is so, so far away from where I live, but every time I eat there, I swear, it's worth…read moreevery single mile I drive! Our most recent visit was during KC Restaurant Week, which adds a little extra value with a free dessert! (This year's was Tres Leches cake!) Similar to many Brazilian steakhouses, there's a bar with a massive assortment of FANTASTIC food! Many are cold salad options, including pastas, seafood, veggies and more! It's extremely difficult NOT to get a heaping scoop of every single thing, but be warned: if you do, there's not going to be much room left in your belly for the INCREDIBLE meats on service! Once you flip your paper token to the open side, you'll begin being visited by numerous meat-bearing servers, who will offer you the different meats by name! Many have all the different finish temperatures (rare, medium, well, etc.), and you can ask for as much as you like! They continue to circulate around the dining room and to your table as often as the meat becomes availabile (every 10-15 minutes or so!). Our particular waiter on this visit was outstanding! Charming, patient, and very helpful with diverting our favorite meats back over to our table for encores! Even though gratuity is included on the bill, we made sure to add a little extra for his efforts! I have too many favorites to name them all, but the two that really hit the spot this time around were the pork ribs and the filet with bacon! And yes, that IS pineapple on a skewer, and yes, it's as good or better than most of the meats that come out! Try it, it's AMAZING! My only knock on the food for this entire visit would actually be the free dessert - the Tres Leches. While it was fine enough, it didn't really give much of a true "Tres Leches" flavor to it - more of just a "wet cake". I have a sweet tooth from here to the moon, so, I ate it!! However, I was about the only one at our table who did. The dining room setup is pretty tight, especially considering that people are getting up from their seats pretty often to visit the food bar. Regarding the cost/value: while everything is very good, it's certainly not a cheap place to eat. Dinner for two with a tip is easily going to be $150, similar to other steakhouses. This gets a nod for one star above average due to the fact that it is, essentially, endless meat (there IS a time limit, I'm told), and a huge selection, compared to a "normal" steakhouse. Food = 4.5/5 Facility = 4/5 Service = 5/5 Ambiance = 2/5 Value = 4/5

My wife loves the ham and pineapple!…read more We come here on New Year's Eve almost every year and we typically buy a whole ham and pineapple for New Year's Day. Did I mention my wife likes the ham and pineapple? The food here is good and if you have ever been to one of these Brazilian steakhouses this one is pretty similar, but we think a bit better and local. We like local restaurants and supporting them. There are 3 cuts of meat they bring around that are a must for our family, outside the ham of course which is about all my wife will take so she loads up when it comes by, these are the picanha, provolone, and the flank steak. Each are seasoned the same but the meat flavors are the standout. The 4th one my son likes is the garlic steak. I like that one ok but it's not different enough from the others to make it in my rotation. If you like lamb or are lamb curious this is a good place to try it, you're not committed, and the chops are pretty mild flavored. It's not the best lamb I have ever had but it's good, really outside the picanha and the ham of course, I could say pretty much the same thing about all of the cuts. That is not why you come here though. You come for the variety and the presentation and the fun of trying stuff. The self serve food is ok. Some good some.... The good news is there is probably something for everyone. There are a few things I like. I always get the Brazilian rice and beans for something more traditional or I eat a salad if I want to have more of a 3 course kinda meal. I like the pasta salad here and that is what I tend to get with the rodizio. The good news is there is a lot of variety. Some of it seems odd, but it could be fun. For instance, last night they had Italian ziti! For dessert there is one thing to get, the caramel flan. Enough said. The restaurant itself is fine. It can be as fancy or casual as you want it to be. We see people here in suits and dresses and t-shirts and shorts and it's one of those places you would feel comfortable in either. On New Year's Eve people tend to be dressed their best, but that is more about the occasion than the restaurant. Service is fine. The server will essentially get your drinks and point you in the right directions. They will give you the rundown, if it's your first time. We don't expect much here so maybe that is on us. It's kinda like a server at a buffet. That being said, we have never had an issue. We have always had polite, attentive servers and staff so we are pretty happy! All in all a pretty good place. It's reminiscent to a choose your own adventure for food where people can adventurous or wild or standard. That's the fun of this place and why we like to come here with the family. I didn't take many photos. The place was really busy last night and it seemed awkward, but I am sure there are quite a few already posted for your enjoyment.
