I can say my daughter is blessed to have such a loving second grade teacher !…read more We love the school and the teachers. I have never had problems with traffic , because as a responsible parent I leave from home at a reasonable time to be able to drop my kid on time!!

Principal is not responsive, doesn't come out to meet students other than Fridays (inconsistently). Yard supervision is minimal and not sufficient. Luckily the kids are behaved pretty well. Teachers are hit and miss. We've seen amazing teachers and awful teachers. DUSD and Amador don't handle teacher accountability well (possible because of being unionized?). Issues sent to the principal have been met with a condescending and patronizing attitude with no action. Like most other schools in the area, expect to be panhandled for donations all year. Communications are lacking and many times incorrect. The staff is also spotty, some good, some horrible. The facility is beautiful. Many issues which would bring this school down relate to the district such as nachos and carnival food for lunch or no police ever to handle the people driving on the wrong side of the road or speeding at drop off and pickup. However many other issues stem from lack of genuine care and involvement of staff and leadership from the principal. Childish drama emails from our teacher, and no science in our second grade class. Our third grade teacher is amazing and I wish she was running the school. So it's very difficult, and we're looking elsewhere. In the meantime, we're supplementing the food with home made lunches, science and math with home courses and lab work, and have made changes to accommodate the bad pickup (we have our kids wait for 15 minutes so we can come after the crowd has left, since they're unsafe and it's just blocks long of lines for over 30 minutes.) We've voiced our concerns. The principal obviously doesn't care. We miss Dr Ventura who is now at cottonwood creek. Maybe there's better luck there. Also kolb and John green were better.

Ferishta as well as his teachers were proactive and always available to meet when challenges arose. As a child care professional myself, I understand the challenges with meeting the needs of all students and I feel that LVA was masterful in this.

LVA was once a good school, but my family's experience over time tells a different story. My son…read moreattended from 2020 to 2023, and unfortunately, he left underprepared for high school. There was little to no support or guidance from LVA to ensure a smooth transition to a traditional school environment. I was surprised to see a couple of highly positive reviews appear about a year after my son had left--reviews that appear to describe him directly. These accounts do not reflect our experience and seem inconsistent with the reality we observed. It raised concerns for me about how feedback and reviews might be represented or encouraged within the school community. It is more shocking given that the individuals concerned had nothing good to say about one another at the time. During our time at LVA, the quality of education and communication declined noticeably. What began with promise during the COVID period gradually shifted to disorganization, inconsistent teaching quality, and removal of key student resources, such as lunch and recess. I also encountered several situations where staff appeared underqualified or lacking appropriate classroom management, including questionable instructional choices that were not age-appropriate (R rated movies) More troubling were instances of unprofessional conduct and poor handling of disciplinary issues, which had lasting effects on my child's wellbeing. Several parents, myself included, raised these issues repeatedly before meaningful action was taken. To the school's credit, there were a few dedicated and talented teachers who genuinely cared about their students, and they deserve recognition. However, the broader environment was not consistently supportive or healthy, particularly in leadership and communication. In summary, while LVA may look appealing on the surface, our experience suggests that the substance does not always match the image. I encourage parents to seek out multiple perspectives and, most importantly, listen to their children's experiences before making a decision.

We had three kids going to this school one graduated Cal High last year . The one Consistent thing at this school was always blaming home and the kids for any missing work or falling behind .once a teacher with name of Coby goes the extra mile to tell my third grader boy at the time to stop speaking his original language at home and needs to speak English only because she thought he was talking while in class . After yelling at him in-front if the class . At the Beginning of COVID closures and going online there principal Haar had quit on the kinds and whole school . Went transferred somewhere else so won't miss his undisputed good record for years god forbid he had to do some work then may expose his incompetence .same with the district school superintendent went to retire at the same time . At the time of COVID the were not only not or paired like everyone else they were not available and didn't have a plan for COVID and how to run classes . The missed our dough yet placement because we requested online when they had kids to come back to school so she missed her place in class so had to be transferred to another school and missed almost a month worth of school work . The school almost always find excuses for there failure than finding reasons to make things work . There answer to everything" we can't , it not up to us really, you have to talk to the district. We can put you in the waiting list" I don't recommend this school for anyone .they live off there reputation from the past . Hope to see change to Better . School should be a partners and educators . They have our kids most of Days . We don't blame them for there bad behaviors they absorb . Just do your job.
