Kojak's is our reliable "go-to" spot for gyros and other grill goodies. I can't remember ever having been disappointed with the food. My personal favorite is the chicken gyro, though the traditional gyro meat is also fantastic. Their fries and onion rings are great, and though I have not often ordered their burgers they are also delicious. Their new location is closer to my home than the previous place, which is proving dangerous indeed! read more

Super cold dogs. We called ahead, and the dogs were not ready upon arrival waited 5 more minutes. The flavor is meh, and portillos is still better. If you are stuck in Cary, go to the tracks, the food is fresher and cheaper. A dog and fries will run you the same as the tracks who's ingredients are far fresher. Though not the best burger joint around in this area it is still very good.The burger was a little over cooked but it was still pretty good and the chocolate shake I had was very good .All though the food was good the service was not great as it took around 30 mins just to get food for 4 people. read more

Though I have rated Kojak's with 3 Stars, I would have given it 3 and a Half Stars if possible. As of 5/26/2018, I've been to Kojak's (new Location in Cary, IL by the Jewel/Osco Store) several times. My experiences have varied, both in service and in the food. The first time there, I tried a Cheeseburger. There was something missing. Taste. The burger was simply lacking. The fries are good, though they could use a bit more potato. On another visit I tried the Mushroom/Swiss Burger. Again, the taste of the burger was very plain. Good mushrooms in taste and amount. Again, it's the burger patty itself that I feel needs something more. On my latest visit I had wanted to get the Pulled Pork sandwich. Unfortunately, they were out of it. This was on a Saturday afternoon, so a little better preparation is needed there. Instead, I tried the Philly Steak sandwich. This came absolutely loaded with huge green peppers and huge slices of onions the likes I'd never seen before. I suppose this may have been a good thing, if I liked huge green peppers and huge slices of onions. I don't. So all of that came off, leaving a lot of bun and not a whole lot of steak or cheese. It did taste good, but it needed more meat. Also, I should have been asked upon ordering if I wanted peppers and onions on the sandwich. I have also had the Onion Rings, which are very good, but there is only one size available for order and it's huge and rather expensive. It's enough for two people, too much for one. For me, half of them end up tossed as Onion Rings don't lend themselves easily to being reheated at home. A second offering of a Small-sized Onion Rings at a lesser price would be welcome. Twice I have ordered a Chocolate Shake, and twice I have been disappointed. Though Kojak's uses Hershey's Ice Cream, there's just something wrong. It has a strange taste to it and that strange taste is not chocolate. At this point, I'll mention the service. It has gotten better. The first time I went into the new location, the place was packed - with employees. There were loads of them behind the counter, but only a few seemed to actually be working. Most were just chatting with one another and it took way too long for my food to be served. On subsequent visits, the number of employees working has dropped but the service has gotten better and faster. Which brings me to the one other sandwich I've tried at Kojak's. The Italian Beef/Italian Sausage Combo. I've had this several times now because it is EXCELLENT! The Beef is loaded with taste as is the Sausage. A nice bonus here is that the Sausage is huge and overhangs the bun. I give the Italian Beef/Italian Sausage Combo FIVE STARS. Price-wise, Kojak's is in line with similar type restaurants. There is plenty of seating and the restaurant has always been clean the times I have visited. They offer Coke products and there is also a small room of Slot Machines. Overall, I would recommend trying Kojak's. read more

Definitely hole-in-the wall place, but I'm generally not dissuaded by that type of ambiance. Kojak's has an extensive menu with typical hot-dog/Italian beef/gyros lineup, which is common for the Chicago area. The staff was super friendly and cooked everything to order. We got their gyro combo that came with the sandwich, a small side of fries, and a medium drink. It was a very good size sandwich and extremely tasty. The fries were hit or miss, either very good or kind of crunchy. Our daughter had a grilled cheese sandwich, and the few bites that we managed to steal from her were quite delicious. I'll have to stop by again to try other items that seemed appealing on their menu. read more

First visit was good, great burger, good fries. Second trip not so good. The wait for your food is long and it's not cheap. I traveled from Wauconda to Cary because my son wanted a burger. When I got home I was missing a hot dog for my other son and the hamburger I ordered for myself was missing the top bun. When I told he manger he laughed a bit, I guess I can let that go no bun on a burger could be funny if you hadn't spent $30 on food to have it be wrong. The order wasn't big and they were not busy at the time. I was given a credit for a burger so I'll give them one last try. read more

Nothing has slacked since their move into their new and improved location! Still the same great food and service that's expected but they've made it SO much easier to actually sit and enjoy a meal in the actually building. They've added ice cream to the mix as well as the option of a bottle of various beers. Kojak's is still a go to for me and nothing will change that anytime soon! read more

Sometimes you just forget to Yelp about your regular everyday places. I cannot count the number of times I have been to Kojaks in Cary because I have literally been going there on average once per week since they opened their doors. But I can count the number of times I have been disappointed... ZERO. If you are in the neighborhood and in the mood for a sandwich, this is the only place to go. They have just about every type of kind of sandwich you can possibly think of (not just hot dogs) and they do them all up right. Even the dinner and salad items are very good for a fast food restaurant. If you're in the mood, the shakes and malts are as good as you will find anywhere. Ordered from here last Friday and all I can say is that there staff needs big improvements. An hour after I placed the order someone called and asked if our order was pickup or delivery I told them delivery. Then five minutes later the phone rings again telling me that my credit card didn't go through. I read them the card and most of the numbers were wrong and it went through. Then another five minutes goes by and the phone rings again asking about our order and I'm glad they did because 40% of the order was wrong. I finally got my food an hour and a half after i placed the first call if I ever order from here again I'll place my order 24 hours in advance so they have plenty of time to get it right read more

A total go-to place for hot dogs, burgers, fries, gyros, and other fried items. But don't miss their dinners either: their chicken kabobs are the best in the area (just ask for them well done) and their shrimp basket ain't half bad either. As Elizabeth noted the menu here is larger than one would expect from such a small place. Service is fast and friendly, and prices are good. Never again. I have been going to Kojaks for over 20 years, and this is ridiculous. I just left there after ordering 2 chicken gyros.....and it took THIRTY TWO MINUTES to get my order. After which, they got it wrong!!! I know what you are thinking, and they were not that busy. 4 orders came out in that 32 min before mine. If they cannot handle 5 orders at once then they shouldn't be in business. I asked when I got my order what they felt was the appropriate wait time, and they obviously knew it had been a while, because the only reply (from the kid with the shaved head that I think is the manager) was "sorry man". Kodak's is slipping. Ever since they moved the quantity of food is less then standard. I had to go back to the store because the my order was incomplete and unacceptable. I ordered two beefs without bread and received a half of a cup of dry beef. I also ordered two Hot Dogs that I did not receive. I went back to the store and received my Hot Dogs and I was told that the beef is pre-measured, but they will give me a new order. The second order of beef was much more then the first order. I don't know if my placing the order on a Sunday night at 7:30 ( they close at 8:00) had anything to do with my incomplete and unacceptable order. read more

Perfect food for what it is-inexpensive burgers/sandwiches/gyros/hotdogs type place. Food is REALLY good, delivery is shockingly fast and everything I've had there is delicious. Stopped by early one evening. The menu is huge and has a little bit of everything for everyone. Most of the people I saw here were greeted by name.. so that tells me this place has a loyal following. Holy crap. We were in the area from highland park, fishing at Julian's trout farm, and found this place on yelp. One of best lunches we've ever had. Started with Raw fish tuna tacos. They were perfect. I had a blackened chicken salad which was so good and flavorful. Had lots of veges and a little arugula. Wife had a chicken sandwich that she said was the best she ever had. I'm now eating my kids burger, which is a 10. Washing it down with an anti-hero. Great spot. Great beers and great people working here. read more

If you want a french dip or a dog in Cary, this is the place to go. The hot dogs are true Chicago style. Lots of carry-out service, and they deliver! The burgers are nothing to write home about, but if you have kids, the corn dog will make them giggly. The shakes are also good. It's kind of a dumpy but clean atmosphere with only a few small tables -- takey outie is preferred. The staff is fast, friendly, patient and pleasant. The gyros plate will easily feed two. Love Kojaks! Fav place to eat in Cary. Just had the gyros platter and it was on fleek. Soo good. Everything fresh and yummy. Love the greek salad with feta. I've ate here twice now. First time 2 hot dog special. The hot dogs are average and nothing to talk about. The second time I had the gyros combo meal. Not that good. The gyros needs more spices and was extremely oily. Also they give almost no tzasiki sauce which is rather dissapointing. If your in a rush and want a cheap tasting hot dog joint, here you go. We absolutely love the food at Kojak's. It never disappoints. However, twice in the last month we've had food missing in two of our deliveries. The first time I called and the boy who answered the phone said it wasn't on my order. I told him I was looking at my receipt and was charged for it. Then he changed his story and said a delivery person bought my order. He then told me he would refund the money on my debit card. Sure enough, I saw the refund the next day. Thinking it was just a fluke, we placed another order again last night. Again something was missing from the order. I called and the girl who answered asked for my address. She then told me she packed the order herself and it was complete. I told her what we received and she then said she would send it over. Being that they have lied twice, we have decided we no longer will order from there. It's too bad, because we really love their food. Hopefully they can get their recent missing food issues figured out before they lose even more customers. read more

I order from here frequently when I'm at work and LOVE IT! I've had many different things (chicken gyro, regular gyro, Greek salad, cheese fries, sweet potato fries, etc) and I've throroughly enjoyed all of it. They deliver pretty quickly, always friendly and a couple of them already know who I am when they walk in. Reasonably priced for a good amount of food. Never been to the actual restaurant but their service is great. I will definitely keep ordering from them. read more

I've been to the new Kojak's a handful of times now and every time they forget to give us something in our order. I called in 2 items to go the other day and finally after 25 minutes and other people getting their orders I asked where mine was. They had forgotten about it. The Kojak's years ago was so much better than it is now, the service was much better when the owners were present in the restaurant. read more

The Greek salad with grilled chicken and chicken philly sandwich was very good. The feta cheese in the salad was def fresh! The chicken philly sandwich was delic, the combination of the sweet peppers and onions and savory bread and chicken was a match made in heaven. However the mozzarella sticks and fries needed to be cooked longer so that's why I didn't do five stars and also the staff wasn't super friendly. Overall thought, very good food! Kojacks has a very fiendly staff and great food. Their burgers are juicy and delicious. My son loves the bacon burger. My wife enjoys the gyros, while I like the Italian beef. I would recommend Kojacks to anyone who wants good food served by friendly people that know you. read more
