While visiting the charming little city of Ottawa, Illinois, my wife and I stopped into a…read morenondescript shop in the main downtown area. Little did we know we'd just stepped into the fashion capitol of Ottawa, LaynaBella's. Immediately we were greeted by the manager and asked if we needed any help. I told her we were just browsing but that we would let her know if we needed help...and like a great customer service rep, she gave us the time to take in all the trendy and stylish clothes this place has to offer. The selection of women's clothes, jewelry and accessories is pretty diverse and there seemed to be a little bit of everything for everyone, however this place did focus on trendy, stylish and amazing clothes that rival the styles of bigger chain stores such as Bebe, American Eagle, Arden B and others. Beautiful and sexy heels, dresses, shirts and shorts all around in this seasons best colors and patterns. My wife found beautiful color necklaces and shoes...at REALLY good prices. Everything seemed to be of good quality and at a decent price. No inflated pricing here. What I didn't expect to find, but was glad I did, was a men's section with stylish t-shirts, button up shirts, shorts. I ended up purchasing a great graphic print t-shirt and easily found my size with no problem. The men's selection was actually pretty impressive considering this is a town of only 18K people. I have trouble finding stylish clothes in Dallas that aren't meant for 12 yr old boys...this place carried up to 3X shirts for men and sizes XS to XL for women. Checking out was just as impressive. The store uses the Square register app for iPad. A quick swipe of my card, and my receipt was emailed to me within seconds and I was out of the store with my purchase. Visa, Mastercard, Discover and Amex and of course cash taken here. In talking with the manager, I discovered the store was completely decorated and furnished by the owner Beth Hoffert who, according to her works all the time to keep the store looking trendy, stylish and just plain cool. This store is definitely the center of the fashion world in Ottawa, Illinois and is more of the type of store you'd find in downtown Chicago, Dallas or another major city. If you're in the area and are a fashionista or are just looking for a good deal, this place is a must see!

I'm not usually one who reviews chain clothing stores, but seeing that this particular location…read moreonly has 1 star especially after the phenomenal service I received, I had to remedy that rating. Rikki was the girl who was working the store when I visited. I was on vacation and literally all of my jeans were falling off me. I know, tough problem. But in reality it kinda sucks. I hate clothes shopping...yup I do. Am I the only female who does not truly enjoy clothes shopping? Anyway, enter Rikki. I had grabbed a few jeans to try on and she set up a fitting room and asked me what I was looking for. I told her. I also told her specific issues I have bc my legs are fairly long. She suggested which of the jeans I had picked were most likely to fit best. I tried them, but wasn't thrilled. I didn't even know what size I was anymore, so nothing was perfect. She grabbed several different styles and lengths and brought them to me. Then she brought more, and then more. My best friend was with me, so I was able to get a good second opinion. Rikki was so full of personality & seemed to truly love her job. It turned into a fun shopping experience, not one full of dread. Because seriously, does anyone really like trying on jeans? Anyway, I ended up with the perfect jeans and I actually really really really like them. They fit perfect, and I do mean perfect. That never happens. And she even applied unexpected, but appreciated coupons when I checked out. Yippee!

I had some time to kill and thought I could find a nice shirt or something. When I first walked it, I was a little overwhelmed by color and the 1990's pop music blaring through the speakers (think Destiny's Child and Britney Spears). It was a little off putting, especially seeing teenagers inside browsing who had probably weren't even born when Britney was popular. However, I saw the clearance section and like a moth to a flame wandered back. Clothing ranged from $3-9 and I found a few to try on. The fitting rooms were nice, with plenty of hanging space and a nice mirror. After choosing my few items, I went to wait in line. There were two cashiers, each with a customer and two other customers in front of me. Let's just say it would have been quicker to watch paint dry. It was agonizing. One of the cashiers was really friendly and kept telling her customer she could get these tank tops for $1 and guilted her into buying more tops. So the customer would wander off, grab some shirts and come back. When that customer finally paid and left, the same thing happened to the next customer. Argh! It was super frustrating waiting in line for what should have been really quick to check out. I can't say I'm surprised this store was closing. I would not come back, even though some of the tops were cute. It just wasn't worth it!

I live in Los Angeles but have family in Morris and we come here a couple of times every year. In…read morethe past, I have shopped at a large chain clothing store here in town, but I heard there is a new store so I decided to check it out. I thought it was going to be a store that primarily catered to young women. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it carries not just clothing for all ages, but also clothing for many sizes. There's a sign when you walk in that they carry sizes XS-3X. I ended up buying several items, including some one-size-fits-all leggings that are so soft and comfy - I think for $13. They have shoes and accessories too. One of my favorite things about the store is that the owners have great fashion sense and helped me put together outfits that look really good. They took me out of my comfort zone with some of the outfits but I have gotten so many compliments! I'm sure I will visit again next time I am in town!
