This review is strictly for the customer service/management experience that I experienced with the store manager. Angelique (sorry if I spelled your name incorrectly!), the store manager went above and beyond to assist me without any hesitation. So I went to Kohls to pick up two pairs of shoes that I had ordered online and shortly discovered I ordered the incorrect size for one of them and needed to exchange it. After informing Angelique of the situation, she immediately checked to see if her store carried the size I wanted. And after realizing that her Kohls store didn't have the size I needed, she went and searched other nearby Kohls to see if they have it in stock. When Angelique discovered that the Kohls in Fremont might have it, she offered to physically check the store and to pick it up for me (since she was heading to Fremont later that day). I then gave her my contact information and later that afternoon, she gave me a call to inform me that she was able to get the shoes I wanted and I could come in anytime to pick it up! Angelique's customer service was excellent and I am happy to see such an awesome store manager not only willing to just help resolve problems but also taking initiative and going beyond to satisfy their customers! read more

I regret shopping here and getting a Kohls card. Why? Because their entire system and policies are customer unfriendly. To sum it up, the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. - bras and underwears are a MESS!! Ever heard of organizing by SIZE? Sifting through 1,000 XL and L to find a Small took about 45 minutes. Buying online is bad. The sizing is off, everything looks great on the models, you can't feel the material, the padding shape, and sometimes, they ship you the wrong size anyway... -returns are a pain. When I return things I bought online (see mistakes above), I get a store credit because that's the only 'option' the 'system' gave the clerk, and that's FINAL. Stupidly, the online purchase receipts do NOT show the prices you paid and the clerks in the store canNOT see my online order details, because that would require the Store and the Online store to behave as if they're one company...DUH... -online agents: The female agents have been competent; the male ones on the weekends have not. I have hung up on a few incompetent ones because I don't have time. -phone survey: this dumb system does not allow you to add comments. All of the other customer service phone systems wants you to provide 'comments', nope, not Kohls, but luckily, there's Yelp. -kohls.com: you do not find out until AFTER you have entered all of your personal and financial information into the system that the item in your 'basket' is not available. But, when you go back to the shop, the item still appears as 'available'... The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. Someday, they'll fix this glitch, but don't hold your breath... last one: -store policy: do NOT let your customers use the bathroom until the mopped floor is COMPLETELY dry. So, another woman, myself, and a child were waiting because the custodian guarded the door and won't let us in. Policies come first at Kohls, not the customers. If any of you dare pee in your pants, you'll just have to WAIT LONGER because she'll have to mop and dry again. :) It will be unfair of me to not mention any Pros, so here: -you can use the bathroom here instead of marching a mile through the Mall tunnel to use the Mall's super stinky bathroom in which your eardrums will burst when someone dries their hands on the blow torch dryer. And the Kohls bathroom floor is always dry, guaranteed. read more

How interesting (Jenna's review). I was just there last night, and I returned a Christmas gift...Mind you NO RECEIPT OR TAG on the sweater. It was small, and they didn't have a larger size. The lady in customer service returned my sweater, but she could only return it for the current price it is selling - which was fine...either no $$$ with small sweater OR $$$ towards something that WILL FIT. I had NO trouble returning the item. All she needed was my license. I was in and out! I gave it 4 stars as they have great service...even when we walked in (on a Wednesday evening). This place just lost me as a customer. I waited in line for 10 minutes and didn't budge. There was ONE cashier and a growing line. There was some sort of supervisor just standing and watching with her arms folded. 3 other employees less than 10 feet away putting up one shelf chatting away. The only cashier called for help a few times and no one came. The other dingbats just ignored her and just looked on. It just boggles my mind that a supervisor just stood there and just watched. People are trying to give you money ...you should take it. I just tossed my items I had and left. My 30% off coupon was not worth the frustration. I'm not a big fan of Kohl's due to their prices but I do come here a few times a year to find children's clothes and shoes. Whenever my kids need new shoes, we will come to Great Mall. They had a vast selection of shoe stores so it's a no-brainer to come here. My daughter needed a new pair of shoes. It had to be pink and comfortable to wear. We took her to Famous Footwear and Sketchers but she didn't see anything she wanted. While waiting for my daughter to try on some shoes, I did a search on Kohl's website and I found a pair that she wanted. We immediately walked over to Kohl's. My daughter found what we wanted and we proceeded to the cashier to pay. There were 2 cashiers that day and it was a Saturday. The wait was a little long but there's nothing we could do about it. Got a $30 off coupon from Safeway (I think because I bought over $100 worth of groceries lol). WOW, $30 off $30+ purchase on ANYTHING (and they mean anything hahaha). Had to take advantage of this offer but being the procrastinator that I am, I came on the expiration date of the coupon. First impression of the store: IT'S SO BIG! I've never walked into Kohl's before the 10 million times I've walked by it in Great Mall. It was bright, clean, and surprisingly organized. I headed straight to the kitchen appliances and looked for a good deal on baking wares. Unfortunately, there wasn't anything I needed ( I wanted a cupcake carrier dang it) Anyway, ended up with a spice rack with all these exotic spices, some I've never heard of. And it spins!! oOoo fancy. So original price was $49.99ish AND it was 40% off AND I had my coupon so I ended up paying like $5 for it, SCORE! Walked around the store and saw a lot of good deals. My first experience with Kohl's was late last year... Sometime in November I believe. It's like a smaller version of target just with more expensive items, and without the great food and snacks. There's nothing I'd like to buy here unless I needed a gift in a hurry. I do like their selections for certain items though (e.g. Frames, 600 thread linens, and etc.) (-1) The customer service here is very.... fake... they are always coming up to ask if you need help, but you know they really don't want to by the body language and how they speak to you. (-1) The prices are out there! Comparing it to other department stores this place hurts my pocket every single time... So overall... My girlfriend was trying on about 3 or 4 outfits for her shopping spree and this lady with black and redish hair came up to us and told me I couldn't be by the dressing rooms because other people may feel threatened by me. I really like Kohl's and there are several clothing lines that I really like from Kohl's that are stylish, chic, and very affordable. If you know what you are looking for you can really find some great stuff at Kohl's especially when they have big clearance sale where you can get big deals on clothing items. The employees i have worked with here have been really friendly and helpful. When we have needed to have things located at other stores they have always been willing to search for any item I am looking for. I like shopping at Kohl's because I can find some very affordable clothing. I also really enjoy their home section as I believe they have some great bedding as well as cooking supplies, etc. This is an overall great store where you can find great deals. Tack on any coupons you may receive and the deals are even sweeter. Usually everything is on sale as well. Highly recommend Kohl's for getting some great deals on clothing and housewares. read more

I think this kohl is a alright place to shop. It is easy to shop at as it is located in great mall. This kohl is kind of small but does have lots of discounted item. My girlfriend and I come here to shopping sometime. We usually look at the clearance item as it will net us the most saving. They usually mailed you coupon and when we get 30 percent off coupon, we come here because we can also walk around great mall. Overall, we usually find something good on clearance and with our coupon, we saving even more money. This kohl will get pack on weekend and holiday so beware of that when shopping here. Hint The bathroom here are usually cleaner than the mall so use the bathroom here if you don't want to wait and like a clean bathroom. read more

Went in today. Found a great top. But..... Went to the customer service Dept. and got in line. One guy employee was helping a customer and one lady employee was helping another customer. The two ladies were talking and talking about the computer system and how something didn't get held for her. Well when it seemed like they were done they continued talking and walking. Then the "customer" walked back to the staff area! The employee answered the phone that just rang. The lady that was just being helped then started sorting things on the counter and no one acknowledged me. So I walked up to them and asked "is anyone going to help me?!" She walks over, not a word. One still in the phone. The "customer" employee then asked if its a return and I said I needed it to be looked up. Then she tells me the service is down! Wtf! I have been on and out of this Kohls over a period of time. I am prompted to write this review because the level of consistency has increased dramatically. In the past the store would sometimes be well organized and then other times...it is part of retail I guess. However, the last 3 to months has been a pleasant surprise as.tje seems to be more organized on a regular basis, the employees seem a little more attentive, and the shelves are more full ( good for them because I buy more....bad for me because I buy more). I shop here when I get the 30% off coupon. Worth it! This store also gives kohl's cash - 10$ for every 50$ spent. Its bigger than many other stores in the bay area and the shelves are neat. Clearance section is messy - sizes mixed up but you get good quality clothes on sale, just have to look. I'm not a big fan of seasonal clothes. Anyway office is air conditioned, I don't hang out much in the sun during week days. Sometimes I find nice clothes in seasonal clearance. I would have to say this place is OK, nothing special but not the worse I have been in. It is a clothing store, and if you need something to look nice in I am sure they will have it, or if you are looking for comfortable clothing, good place again. I am not going to go out of my way to come to Kohl's as I have plenty of other place to go to that are closer and about the same cost for clothing. If I am in the area, of course I will drop in to get what I need. So I came here last Monday b/c I had a 30% off coupon that I can use during presidents weekend. When I walked in I was OVERWHELMED with all the red sale signs. I was pretty much walking down the isles and grabbing clothes. One of our goals was to pick up a vacuum cleaner b/c our apartment desperately needed one. I didn't find one.. I did however find some toothbrush refills for my sonicare. When I walked up to the cashier I asked her if I needed to show her the coupon.. she said yes, how much did you get? I said 30%... her response.. NICE... not many people get that.. Her reaction made me feel so special I made my bf go back and get me some weights I was eyeing earlier. GOT ME! Anyways, after our huge spending spree I came home and bought more online. I told my mom that my she should get something while i had this additional 30% off coupon. Boy, did we go crazy. I ended up buying the vacuum cleaner online (which we have received and its amazing) and a couple other clothing items so that we could get free shipping. My mother bought a kitchen aid mixer and saved $90 bucks! Such a love hate relationship with Kohls.. with such a great value I am forced to spend money I don't have! read more

That's right, I'm doing another non-food related review. This Yelper's got versatility. Anyways, I'm actually doing a review on Kohl's. I gotta say, it wasn't half bad coming here. I love brand name clothes as much as the next white collar worker, but I'm not going to the poor house for my work or weekend wear. I can speak for the mens wear, there are deals to be had here. Even more so if you receive their fliers in the mail or join their online newsletter (from what I have been told). You can get a nice pair of pants for about $30 or so and get a nice no iron shirt (these are the greatest things ever btw) for about $20. It's a nice alternative to folks who shop at Ross or Marshall's. Plus it's a hell of a lot less thrashed than the 2 aforementioned stores. I'll definitely drop by in the future if I need any work clothes. read more

I only come here if I have to. The Great Mall is so large, and such a pain to get in & out, that I avoid it unless I must. What constitutes a must? Either A) I need to go to Vitamin World or B) I want to try and find some business casual on up type of clothes at Kohl's rather than another store. The stores in Santa Clara & Mountain View don't really carry those types of clothes. In general, I like their clothes. It's more of the classic style which I prefer. However, I'm always double-checking the shirts to make sure that they're not so thin that they won't keep me warm. This store, as well as every Kohls, has excellent customer service. They find any way to help and don't dismiss you with just an "I'm sorry". They try and find a way to solve your problem instead of telling you they don't or can't do something. Great place for returns and exchanges, they are very lenient and helpful, same goes for every Kohls. The only thing they could work on is having more cashiers available and more variety/selection in the clearance departments. I go to other Kohls and find a lot more clearance. Love all the savings and bargains that Kohls has to offer. read more

Kohl's is a good store with good selection in general. But at this store in the Great Mall- the customer service and the manager- not very helpful or polite. The manager here- a woman, is grumpy, rude and talks to the customers like she is the boss ordering her employees !! Always check your bills and make sure you are getting ALL of the perks/ discounts/ Kohl's cash that you should be getting, right then and there. If you go back the next day, chances are that they won't give you anything you were entitled to , even if it was the employee's fault for missing your discounts. I spent nearly $ 130 on Christmas eve at 10:40 PM, waiting in line for 30 mins...I was supposed to get $20 in Kohl's cash . The lady at the billing counter gave me only $10 kohl's cash. As a BBW (STOP LAUGHIN' PA....), I like having a choice of what I wear, rather than just picking through whatever is my size. I got 2 cute tops and a pair of pants today, for a total of $44.00. The sale racks are crowded, and sometimes disorganized, but it's worth poking through. The star they lost is for the 15 minutes I stood in line while a single cashier dealt with the crowd (although to her credit, she never lost her composure or sense of humor). With that said, it has the disorganization of Burlington Coat Factory without the largest selection. The sales aren't even all that good. I love kohls, however I do not like this location. I needed help returning an item and they refused to do it. I then had to talk to managment and then they agree'd to send me a check via mail. I never got the check so I called the number on the reciept and they explained to me that they couldn't send me a check worth cash, however they could send me store credit. I didn't want store credit. I had to basically tell them off in order to get my $100.00 back... I then went back to the store a week later, and the same person was there, and I was treated totally bad. I will never go to this location again... Customer service sucks there! read more

Will not shop at this location unless rest of the Kohl's closes down. Sunday afternoon long lines at both ends of the cashiers so with only 3 registers open the senior aged cashiers should cut the talking and move the line. The customer clearly said no to opening a store credit card and she still talking slow trying to up sell the card, get the picture it's a NO and move the dam line. I only need to buy 2 items but waited 20min in line and when I got to the cashier she said "oh I'm just doing my job." Really?! Your job is to ring people up and move the line but with those skills I guess Kohl's cashier position is the best she can get. This location is getting worse and worse. read more

This Kohl's is OK. I've been able to return Items that ordered online without a receipt or the order invoice. The dressing rooms are kinda gross at times, and service has it's good days and bad. This is the closest Kohls to my house and I prefer this one to any other Kohls I've been too. read more

I really like how this location is more organized than most Kohl's stores. I can usually find what I'm looking for fairly quickly and the selection of sizes is better than the San Jose and Santa Clara locations. OMG, super long lines, merchandise is broken or not as nice as other Kohls.

The store manager there is a complete a** hole. Not only was he very unprofessional in handing a complaint I had with one of his associates. He made a laughing matter of the situation which triggered me to stop shopping, walk out and left the store as a total loss of a customer at any kohls location. The staff definitely needs retraining on customer service and how to handle complaints. This Kohl's location seems to have friendly and helpful associates. I love Kohl's overall. However, I am not impressed with the cleanliness of this store. Merchandise is all over the place, many sizes aren't available, and there are some clearance areas that are just literally trashed. I understand clearance is usually a mess, but they should keep it somewhat tidy and take out broken or untagged items. Despite the mess, I found lots of great items by spending the time to dig, and am always excited for a big Kohl's run. Kohls reminds me of JC Pennys and Sears. It's definitely not a Ross or Marshalls. They have everything from clothes, jewelry, makeup, perfume, housing goods, beddings, Hallmark cards, luggage, and much more. I've bought socks, alarm clock, Hallmark bag, hair dryer, hair crimper, gadgets, and other random stuff here. This place is not one of my regular shopping stores but once in a while I find myself buying something here. I recently just signed up for a Kohls rewards card, never knew about it until a few weeks ago. I've seen people get really good deals because of the card. They have a lot of stuff. The price ranges. Some stuff are really cheap like $10 shirts and some stuff are really expensive because they are cashmere so it's like over $100. So depending on your budget you can find something for as cheap as $10 or something as high as $100. One time I had to use the bathroom SO BAD because I was pregnant but they were cleaning it and the lady WOULD NOT let me in!!! I don't remember what happened next but it was one of those times I HAD TO GO cuz I was pregnant and couldn't hold it in!!! Two weeks ago I stopped by the baby section and they had huge sales. I went back last week and the sales weren't as big as the week prior. So I am definitely going to wait until they have that sale again to buy baby stuff but I was surprised to find baby clothes for cheap here. I don't find much for me here but if I took the time to look I probably would find something. I am definitely interested in the baby clothes though. Baby clothes for cheap I'm so there!!! read more
