I was waiting in line and the cashier stopped what she was doing and told me to stand back because the woman in front of me was paying and I can't look at her information. I was standing way farther than usual back and wasn't looking anywhere in the line of where she was putting her "information". Best thing about the store....the clearance sections here. Amazing and cheap finds!! Still pretty messy and the lines can be slow since it takes them awhile to open up more registers. Also, staff is helpful depending on who you ask. Fresh faces as if they just graduated high school...I would avoid them and go straight to the older ladies who seems extremely happy to work there. read more

We have been to Kohl's all over the US. This is the messiest store ever. Clothes, hangers on the floor. I mean alot. Most clothes not in correct order. The kitchen Accesories were a complete mess. I just can't believe my eyes. Never seen a messier store ever. If you come in, good luck getting through the isles and finding anything. read more

I called Kohls Gilroy right at 8am (their posted opening time) in order to check inventory to make sure they had an item the internet said they had in stock as I didn't want to waste a trip. Margareit (sp) helped me, and even agreed to go back and see the items, then she put them in customer service for pickup so I didn't have to search for them. During the holidays, stores get so busy, and this store does NOT have nearly enough staff to keep up with the amount of customers there. My mother and I were standing in line for approaching 30 minutes before we got to the front of the line. There were six registers in that section and only two cashiers, which is ridiculous! On top of that, when we got to the checkout the pen to sign with was completely broken. I don't think we'll be coming back any time soon. Very disappointed. read more

Love this store. Its a notch up from Mervyns. This location is especially nice. Its one level, everything flows and there's a large selection. Im always finding good deals. Staff is knowledgeable as well. My only complaint is the damn "ding dong" for the dressing rooms. I dont know if its possible to be any louder or irritating when u are looking at clothes right by it and theres stupid little kids running in and out of it. OMG!!!!! Omg I love this store!! It's was the Best and worst decision to get a Kohls card!! My 8 year old son loves the Tony hawk clothing brand.. And Kohls has the best sales. The employees are most helpful on the floor. Kohl's back Friday sales are the best when you have a Kohl's card. Because of all the coupons you receive in the mail The month of November! Not only that you can always buy the week before Thanksgiving and just price adjustment on Black Friday so there's no stress if the item is there are not on Black Friday /thanksgiving!! read more

I used to love shopping here because of the great discounts with additional savings for kohls card holders. Then I purchased a $10.00 iTunes card there. When I went to activate it- said it was redeemed. Long story short- they would NOT give me A new &10.00 card. They handled the whole situation so poorly that I boycotted them for awhile & only very occasionally will stop in if I need something they have on sale. All for $10.00 they lost a couple thousand dollar a year spender. read more

The store was messy. And then when we paid for a gift and were walking out the alarm went off, we went back to the registers and the girl asked if we bought jewelry when we said no she said okay and we walked out with the alarm going off. When we got home and started wrapping up the stuff we bought we discovered that the security tag was still on it. How good is that. It would have taken two minutes for that girl to check our items to make sure their weren't any alarms on it. I am not going back. read more

I wish I could give this review negative stars. This is one of the worst stores I have ever shopped in, lifetime average. Unfortunately I had a gift card I had to use. To start with there was NO ONE helping customers, the place is a ghost town when it comes to employees. It seems that 4 people work there and NO managers. One man in jewelry, one man checking out customers in front, one customer service girl (very nice), one young girl wandering around doing nothing and finally an older lady that seemed to be trying to help. No wonder I am constantly reading that there are tons of thefts at this location. We waited forever to be checked out and there was never a manager to be seen. The one employee was checking out customers at what seemed to be the slowest speed possible. The very best part was the young female employee wandering around the giant line of customers fixing shirts that weren't perfectly on their hangers. Unbelievable. She eventually sauntered up to help the seven people patiently waiting after the older lady told her to. The products that Kohl's sells are of the lowest quality and the highest prices. The store is a mess and there is no management or employees to help you. DON'T BOTHER SHOPPING HERE, it is a total nightmare!!!! Worst. Shopping. Experience. Ever. read more

One star because I have to. I did some Christmas shopping a couple weeks ago, spent a decent amount in which I received $30 kohls cash to use within the next couple weeks. I went back the day before it expired to grab a couple more items off my Christmas list, and at the end of check out, the cashier rudely stated " this is no good, you already used it". I explained to her, I didn't, and to further investigate it. She continued to tell me I used it online, which I know I didn't. I asked to speak to a manager, she then radioed her supervisor explained the issue then rudely told me there was nothing they could do. I asked her again, to have the manager come up and talk to me face to face. A woman come to the register, and the cashier told her " they are trying to use this kohls cash and it was already used on line" which was completely unacceptable because of the rude tone she was using. I then pulled out my drivers license and asked if it was used on line to look at my address to prove I wasn't the one who used it. I believe that the store is completely irresponsible with how they handle and store the kohls cash as I saw a full stack of them just hanging out on the register next to us. I also think people and or employees are doing a gift card scam on the cash( taking pictures of the bar codes and checking online until there is money loaded) that's the only thing I can think of on why this happened. I am even more mad because there was nothing done to make me the customer happy, there was no compassion, no empathy, and she didn't try to resolve the problem, she basically looked at me like I was the one trying to scam them for 30 bucks. The customer service from the cashier all the way to management was disgraceful. The store is a filthy mess, unorganized and because of this experience I will no longer shop at kohls ever again. read more

This particular store is always a mess. Clothes are never put back where they belong, floor is often littered with dropped clothing. I've seen entire shelves worth of clothing look like they were just swept onto the floor and left there - and this was early in the morning before there a lot of shoppers! I rarely, if ever, see people working in the departments keeping things organized. I have complained to corporate, who forwarded my complaints the manager. In my opinion, the manager IS the problem - he sees what the store looks like and he obviously doesn't care! I now try to take my business to the Seaside store, which is much more organized and tidy. read more

My wife and I both really enjoy shopping at the gilroy kohls. The store is always really clean. Prices are always correct. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the discounts are always a plus. Every year we do a good anount of our holiday shopping and we always get out with everything we need and then some with money in our pocket. read more

What has happened to Kohls in Gilroy? I've been in there a couple of times in the last month and it is a MESS! I understand the clearance section being untidy but the entire store was crazy. There were hangers and clothes all over the floor and nothing has been sized on the racks and when I went into the dressing room there were at least 5 items left behind in each room. I really hope they hire some more people and start organizing that store. Sad to see it go so downhill. It used to be the "nice" Kohl's, at least compared to San Jose. The Manager of the store tonight was so rude and unhelpful that it's hard to believe she is in charge of customer service. I called the Kohls corporate office to further the conversation and was told I would get 45% off coupon to honor the coupon I was presenting in the store. Rather then sending it, I asked if they could speak to the store manager as I was still at the store and had done my shopping. The rep from the corporate call got all nervous as he just wanted me off the phone and not really to resolve the issue at hand. Turns out, rep was only giving me three 15% coupons and everyone knows you cannot use 3 coupons at at time. He had No clue. He just wanted to get me off the phone. Store manager refused to help. Corporate people incompetent and unhelpful. The only person I felt sorry for was the sweet person at the register. She is being trained and working under a poor manager and leading in a way that displays the worst care for customer service. My dollars can be taken elsewhere and I will not choose to support this store. I would encourage you to shop at a store that has the lower prices without having to wait for your percentage off coupons. read more
