Moon Security bought out an existing alarm company in Spokane called Solid Rock Security. I had an…read moreaccount with Solid Rock, a reputable company that performed flawlessly... no issues at all. That's where the nightmare begins. Moon Security took over and it was a nightmare. I had some issues with my system and scheduled two appointments to have the system repaired. On both occasions I took time off work to be there when the tech arrive. Both times, Moon failed to show up, citing "oh were sorry, it was a mix up." I lost two days wages due to their unreliability. I strongly recommend that you do not do business with this company.

Honestly the worst customer service I have come across in any company in my life. They charge you a $150 service fee every time to fix what they did wrong in the initial setup. Wanted to cancel but come to find out no other company will use the equipment they install. I asked them why they would sell me a camera setup that didn't work with my internet and the owner laughed in my face and said why don't you get better internet, as if I haven't asked or done research to improve my rural internet infrastructure myself. Then 2 years later after just leaving them alone and having a none functional system I go to again just cancel service and they disconnect me but neglect to tell me I will still be charged till November and it is July. So I called them back to reactivate since I am paying them anyways and now they say they may have to send a service guy out to reactivate the system which will cost me a service charge. These people are heartless crooks. I strongly advise against using them.

I missed family gatherings and holidays because I couldn't request anything off. The only nice thing that they did was sent me a nice wooden box with a book in it shortly after my father's dad died.

I Worked out of this Securitas branch as a security guard in Quincy, WA. I didn't know what to…read moreexpect from working as a security professional for this company. I didn't have any allusions of being a gung-ho law enforcement officer and I knew I would have as much law enforcement authority as any guy walking the street (in fact less authority), but I expected the smallest amount of standards from a company that is a leader in its industry. Where to begin... As far as I can make out, the only prerequisite to being hired with this company is that you must have a pulse and be a member of the homo sapiens genus ( The latter requirement is up for debate). You would be flabbergasted if you saw the motley crew of mouth breathers tasked with the responsibility of guarding things as important as multi-million dollar data centers. But anyway, I digress... The skills you need to vigilantly secure and protect valuable businesses can apparently be learned in a four hour ,mostly self guided, orientation. Myself and a handful of fresh recruits entered a conference room and were instructed to start filling out the mountain of paperwork in a folder laid in front of us. The "instructor" left the room and we were told to come find her when we were done. The paperwork portion of our so-called "training" easily took up our first hour. We fetched the instructor when we were done. I drew the short straw since I was sitting closest to the laptop and was instructed to play a series of instructional dvds. Again the instructor left the room. The instructional videos were just as laughably bad as you might think; reminiscent of those outdated educational videos produced in the 70s that they still made you watch in 2008. This took up most of the remaining time. Finally it rapped up with a quick introduction of branch managers, supervisors, scheduling coordinators, HR reps, ect. This was the first and last time I ever saw 99% of these people. They sure do believe in delegating responsibility! Now the fun begins. You are given a couple of bags filled with uniforms that I can only speculate are made out of recycled grocery bags. I was assigned as an multi-site "officer" (using the term officer gives me a silly feeling, like a obese man who tells others and himself that he's actually big-boned). My job was essentially to cover shifts for people who call in sick. I was immediately struck by the absurdly high turnover rate. I understand that entry level jobs that pay near minimum wage rates have hordes of people who constantly come and go, but this was a meat grinder. After a couple of months I didn't bother to learn new names because, statistically speaking, they wouldn't be there next week. The ones who stuck around were disillusioned with the whole work experience. Disillusionment inevitably breeds indifference. You would be hard pressed to find a group of workers who cared less about the goings-on at their place of employment. You could march a battalion of men onto one of these so-called "secured" sites and no one would so much as lift their gaze from their cellphone screens for a second. At the same time I was amazed at the level of ingenuity some will reach to present the illusion of work being done. I could write a how-to of all the methods I learned while working for Securitas, but I know the repercussions of spoiling a good thing for others. It all boils down to a lack of leadership. The workers don't care about bosses who don't even know they exist. I called one of my bosses in Spokane and her response was, "who are you again?" Pretty much sums up the whole experience.
