He arrived sooner than promised, worked efficiently without hesitation once we agreed on a plan and the price, even though it immediately started raining and my tank of a car was armed at the time. That's where the nightmare begins. Moon Security took over and it was a nightmare. I had some issues with my system and scheduled two appointments to have the system repaired. On both occasions I took time off work to be there when the tech arrive. Both times, Moon failed to show up, citing "oh were sorry, it was a mix up." I lost two days wages due to their unreliability. I strongly recommend that you do not do business with this company.

Honestly the worst customer service I have come across in any company in my life. They charge you a $150 service fee every time to fix what they did wrong in the initial setup. Wanted to cancel but come to find out no other company will use the equipment they install. I asked them why they would sell me a camera setup that didn't work with my internet and the owner laughed in my face and said why don't you get better internet, as if I haven't asked or done research to improve my rural internet infrastructure myself. Then 2 years later after just leaving them alone and having a none functional system I go to again just cancel service and they disconnect me but neglect to tell me I will still be charged till November and it is July. So I called them back to reactivate since I am paying them anyways and now they say they may have to send a service guy out to reactivate the system which will cost me a service charge. These people are heartless crooks. I strongly advise against using them.

My wife calls in to cancel and the operator says there is no indication that our alarm had tripped. That was a red flag. They said maybe she called in before the system could call out. Sounded probable at the time but it took my wife several minutes to find the number so I don't think so now. Coincidentally about this time we decided to cancel our land line phone service. I called Allied to cancel our alarm monitoring since our old system could no longer call out. I mentioned that we had doubts that our system was actually being monitored anymore. They checked and assured me that all was well and would I like to upgrade? I said no because I didn't want to commit to a 2 year agreement but I would consider checking back with them when shopping for a new system. Flash forward to June 2020, I get a past due notice from Allied. Keep in mind that our land line phone service had been canceled for about 6 months! The old system could no longer call in to Allied to do it's nightly communications test. When I called to find out why I was still getting a bill they tried to shift the blame to me for dropping the ball. They said I had told them I would call them back as to if I wanted to upgrade and it was my fault I was being charged. Even if that were true, you have to ask yourself, why would I keep paying for monitoring an inoperative system even if I was considering upgrading? It makes no sense. The real question is why they had no indication that my system had lost communications for all those months? They were totally unconcerned and provided no explanation. I know there was a system feedback loop in the beginning because many years ago we got a call in the middle of the night from them telling us our backup battery was failing and needed to be replaced. Something has changed and not for the better. You would think 26 years would count for something. Nope. They say "Allied cares about protecting families" but they really don't care. Like another reviewer said, "Contracts only go 1 way with them." So true. As far as residential alarm solutions are concerned, Allied is somewhat of an anachronism given all the choices out there for home owners. My recommendation is to check out systems like SimpliSafe ($0.50/day for monitor) or any of a number of new systems that you can install yourself and don't require any commitment. Stay away from Allied.

We had it monitored for the…read morerequired number of years and a few years beyond, but because we had so many people coming and going and setting off the alarm, we decided to use the system, but not have it connected to the police. It was perfect. In 2016, the alarm starting going off randomly and we called allied and asked a tech to come out and service the system. No problem- a new battery was installed and we paid the service fee. Now- in 2024, the battery has worn out again and the alarm is going off randomly throughout the day and night. Allied has changed its policy and will not service the alarm systems they install unless you pay for monthly monitoring. They will not even let you talk to a technician. They are nice enough, but if you need a technician and don't want to pay for monitoring you might consider another company. Luckily, they suggested I google changing the battery and I think I can do it.
