If you ever need a mobile locksmith in the Spokane or Spokane Valley area for laser cut keys, safe services, key programming, or just locked your keys in your trunk, he's the guy. I had been trying to retrieve my keys from my trunk - unsuccessfully - to the point of complete frustration until he showed up. He definitely knows his stuff. Unfortunately, I have had extensive experience with locksmiths. They usually tend to arrive late and leave you with the suspicious feeling that you just got taken for a ride. Val is not like this. I would not recommend Intricate Lock and Key. Their response time is extremely slow. It shouldn't take 1-2 days just to let a customer know whether they can come out and schedule a job. Val came right to my driveway to get the job done. Unfortunately the key I was sent via mail order was not the right key! BUT Val had the one I needed with him. I have a very bad habit of locking my keys in the car! The first time I ever did, I called for help from my dad who recommended to call Val. At the time Val was on vacation but still managed to help by sending one of his other guys, I assume. He came after hours.. in not more than 20 minuets and he used his tools to unlock the car in like less than a minute! I was impressed and knew who to call if it did happen again. And, not surprisingly, it happened again so I called Val and he came quickly, unlocked the car, AND made me a spare key right on the spot with a magnetic box to attach somewhere on the outside of my car. Val saved me a repair fortune. I needed a specialized laser cut key for a Toyota proximity fob that was no longer working. Val arrived for an at home appointment 10 minutes early. Upon explaining AutoNation Toyota's $260 diagnosis that I would need a new ECM (computer) which would be over &2,500 for the fob to again work. It was that or a kind of convoluted, secret hand shake sequence each time I needed to start it. Val suggested we try a refurbished (basically deprogrammed) one he had and offered it for $200.
