My sister in law recommended Dr. Kocharian for my annual physical, I called them and they immediately set the appointment with in few days from my call. When I arrived, I was greeted by a friendly staff and right away taken in to start the process. Doctor Kocharian greeted me with a very positive and calm approach, which is very essential, specially with common nervousness of visiting a doctor for the first time performing physical. One of the attributes which I want to emphasize besides his other qualities in this review was his complete thoroughness during the whole process, he answered all my questions briefly and explained with assurance. I was also thrilled they have phlebotomist in the office and did not have to take another trip to a Lab. Either this guy is the dumbest, least educated doctor I have ever met or a sales agent for pharmaceutical companies. I asked him to fill my wage works/ FSA forms so I can use my credit card to purchase supplements for the low vitamin D levels and liver my blood panel showed I had. As he is literally writing a prescription for me to take 5,000 iu of Vitamin D, he's explaining to me how he's against natural medicine, and supplements and strongly recommends I don't take them because there are published articles that it can harm my liver. 1) vitamin D he subscribed is a natural supplement I would have to buy. 2) if there are published articles of supplements known to cause harm to my liver (which is completely bogus) why would you prescribe it knowing my liver isn't great 3) chemical drugs are the real reason why we get worse, not better because they all have harmful side effects. read more

Definitely my new doctors office. My doctor isn't Dr. Kocharian, but the office he has is exceptional. The staff is so helpful and professional. I made an appointment the same day. The took me in and helped me right away. The check up was quick and professional and I even managed to not whimper when the needle came out. The nurses were very helpful and were great at the job. The doctor I have is knowledgeable and spent the time with me answering any questions I have about everything from blood pressure to the harmful effects, or rather lack there of, of the splinter I had. I definitely recommend coming here for a check up. You won't be disappointed. read more

My doctor is Seda Bedalyan, who is actually pretty good. She used to have her own Yelp page, but I can't find it. She is in his practice. The front-desk people are horrible. One of the main women calls you "hon" in a patronizing tone, every sentence, it seems. When will someone tell her to stop doing this? It comes off as really rude to women. Called with an urgent issue for Dr. Badalyan today, they put me on hold five times and hung up twice--the only time I got to talk to someone was when I used a no-nonsense tone of voice. They said they were "really busy" and I'm doubting the message will get to my doctor. The urgency of this is such that it could really affect my life. They didn't even apologize, or give me an estimate of when/how this issue would be taken care of. I'm guessing I will actually have to set up an appointment with Dr. Badalyan to get the message to her. Through the Pony Express! P.S. After moving here from Nevada over a year ago, it wasn't easy finding all new doctors. I had gone to a few but wasn't satisfied, to say the least. Through a coincidental stay in the hospital, I was introduced to Dr. Kocharian and Dr. Badalyan. Since then, I refuse to step foot in any other office. The staff here is undeniably the kindest I've ever met, and they always get me in on last minute notice if needed. Most people hate waiting at doctors offices, but I always know that my wait won't be that long, and if it is, I am patient enough to wait because I know they are treating each of their patients like its their only one. They take the time to talk to you, instead of writing you a prescription and sending you on your way with questions remaining. I am so thankful I found this office and this lovely staff. There's never a long wait and if there is any wait it's a reasonable length and you'll over hear why... he's in the next room listening and answering important questions his patients have. You can't hear the discussion verbatim but you can totally sense he is really involved discussing medical concerns. He and his wife share a family practice and it's a really good one. I have seen them for colds, women wellness exams and allergies. I recently went to UCLA for a women wellness exam and pre-pregnancy consultation and regret it. I got no help from the "fancy UCLA." Their receptionist Niobi is great at what she does too. Even though I come in a couple times a year the receptionist makes me feel like a familiar and valued person. She's organized too and doesn't mix things up. The prices are very reasonable. I usually pay $10.00-$15.00 after my insurance covers the rest. Blood work costs very as with any place. read more

I consider it a blessing to be under the care of Dr. Kocharian, and I love his staff. I have watched on busy days with the phone forever ringing, but Niobe handles everything gracefully and promptly and with a smile on her face. I'm continually amazed that she is so warm and kind, no matter what. Margarita (sp?) is friendly and interested in the clients, and always tries to make things pleasant for everyone. As a special note, it is worth mentioning that she is the best ever at drawing blood...needle goes in as smooth as silk...never a bruise. Dr. Kocharian himself is very personable. He wants to improve the lives of all who seek his care. I believe he succeeds in doing just that. He is not condescending. He wil attentively listen to all that the client has to tell or ask. He'll want you to really understand everything he says. To top it off, he has a genuine, charming smile and a great sense of humor. I feel no "white coat syndrome" when I come to this office. Rather, I feel more relaxed, more cheerful, well cared for. My mother (86) has had some life-threatening health problems. Dr. Kocharian has helped her with every crisis. He monitors her healthcare, her medications, her testing, and her lifestyle, and he is willing to contact her assisted living residence (or her specialists) to maintain good communication. I credit Dr. Kocharian with stabilizing her health and keeping her with us. Even my "I don't need to go to doctors" husband really likes Dr. Kocharian and has been willing to keep up his health care since he started visiting this office. By the way, I want to make sure that it's known that there are NO language problems in this office. I've heard concerns about such things in the past. Everyone can come here and understand everything and also be understood. I had some very strange heath issues that I could not identify some years back. I saw a couple of doctors before luckily finding Dr. Kocharian. They all left me feeling more much more uneasy then before I went in. After my first visit with Dr. Kocharian I immediately felt better. He told me that we would find out what was wrong, and would correct it. He told me I would be fine, and I believed him. The first thing that stuck me was that he listens. And not superficially, he REALLY listens. He really wants to know EVERYTHING you are experiencing be it physical or mental and does not rush you through anything you have to say. He does not pigeon hole you into some preconceived notion of whats wrong with you, and it really shows. He is kind, courteous and respectful, and his honesty is evident. His staff is very kind and respectful as well. They will go out of their way to help you with issues that are not their responsibility. and they will do it with a smile. I inherited this Doc when my old one sold the practice to take care of his elderly parents. Naobi who answers the phone is the only real bright spot in the office...Not sure I have ever MET Kocharian....usually I get someone else. Getting a return phone call is near impossible - and it's been like pulling teeth to get a renewal prescription. For over a year I've been receiving bills for an appointment I paid for in the office...and was told to ignore the bills...but they kept coming. I had been a patient of Dr. Brotherson's and then when Dr. Kocharian took over his practice, I wasn't so sure I'd stay, honestly. But I was quickly impressed by him and have been even more so ever since. Dr. Kocharian is thorough, conscientious and on top of your history very quickly and he just runs a first rate practice across the board. I was also most happy that Naobi continued on with Dr. Kocharian from Dr. Brotherson's practice because in my book, there is no one better. Naobi is personable and helpful and responsible and takes the time that you'd hope someone in her position might take -- but so often it doesn't happen. The same can also be said for everyone in the office. Scheduling is never a problem for me and I'm never kept waiting more than ten minutes. Seriously. Dr. Kocharian was very attentive and professional during my appointments. He listens carefully and spends as much time with you as needed. He was very forthcoming and outlined all the possibilities for me. I was very worried about my condition and when they took blood work, he personally called me as soon as it came in to give me results. His staff however is a different story. They're all very nice and helpful in person, but out of sight, out of mind. I had to stay in contact with his office for several days while they referred me to different specialists and relayed messages back and forth between myself and Dr. Kocharian and it was nearly impossible to get the receptionist to call me back. In 4 days, I had to call her 5 times to try to get my referral and all the info I needed, as my situation was somewhat serious and I needed a referral immediately. She was very nice every time, but not very efficient. So while the Dr himself is very good, getting any help out of the reception staff unless you're coming in for an appointment can be difficult. read more

My Mother, 96 years old was seen grudgingly today for a leg infection, she was apparently sent to the hospital, but was found later in her assisted living facility without having gone to the hospital. In my conversation with Dr. Kocharian he stated "Its not my fault." But no help was offered. Instead he said: "I am dismissing her from my care". End of story. read more
