It's now 2021, so 12 years later, and I still have beautiful straight teeth and wouldn't dare trust any other orthodontist with my smile. If I've ever broken or lost a retainer through the years (which I have done multiple times), Dr. Cardenas and his team have gone out of their way to squeeze me in for an appointment and get me taken care of quickly. Dr. Cardenas takes pride in his patients smiles and genuinely cares about the longevity of their perfectly straight teeth. In 20-30 years, I will still be raving about my experience with his practice and I can't wait to bring my own children to him in a few years for their braces!

Well, it's a problem. When you voice your opinion about not being able to get evening appointment they are very nonchalant. Telling you "we have families to get home to just like you ". I'm already in a contract with them so I will finish out since I have no other service complaint. However, my son needs braces and unless they adjust their hours of operation, I will not use them for his braces.

Excessively long office wait times. The "theater" gives a false sense that times aren't as long because that's phase two of the wait. Extremely poor communication with parents - in a time that parents are asked to "wait in the car." Calls inquiring not returned at times. I shouldn't have to call back after leaving a message and waiting more than 2 days for return calls Insanely ridiculous insurance filing complications - which neither of the other two orthodontists even mentioned or asked me questions about because it was so seamless. My son was cut multiple times, which neither of my other sons ever experienced (both of them have since had their braces removed). We actually had to ask for a tech not to touch his mouth after she cut him on three different appointments. To her credit, she did call and apologize after the request was made, and she never did work on him again. One cut? Ok. Two? Hmmm - perhaps more training is needed. But three!? There should have been more supervision there. Overall, a highly negative experience. So negative that my son hasn't been to the office in over a year after getting his braces off, and I still have a bad taste in my mouth. I wondered if Dr Davis practice was "normal" since it has been a very long time since I had braces. I assure you, it is not. I now know this after using two other local orthos, both of whom I highly recommend. Dr Davis, herself, is a wonderful person. Caring and sweet - however, the services are not.

I called our orthodontist in Oklahoma to see if we could make an appointment for when we returned. Our orthodontist was going to be taking his vacation once we returned, so we would have to go see another orthodontist that would be covering while he is on vacation. His office staff suggested that we try to find a local orthodontist that might be able to see her while we are still in Decatur, so that she did not have to stay uncomfortable while on vacation. I called one office and it was going to be $150 to clip a wire. I called a second office and they were going to charge $360 to clip the wire. My best friend and her husband suggested that I call Decatur Orthodontics, so I did. Allyssa was my first interaction with the office. She was kind and super helpful. She was able to get us in right away. Our visit was less than 5 minutes once we arrived. The office staff was helpful, kind, and extremely efficient. The office was super clean and very organized. They were kind enough to take care of this for us as a complimentary service. If we lived in Decatur, this is where we would go! Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter and for being so kind to us! I would recommend this business 100%. Thank you for being kind human beings! Thank you for being a blessing to us! It has been one problem after another here and the saddest part is that not one person there has shown any concern. Including the orthodontist. My kid has spent 3-4 days waiting to get wires pulled out of his gums because they were out of the office for many days and nobody responds to their "emergency" number. I was told when it's time for cleaning to let them know and just stop by to have hardware removed. Sounds simple enough huh? Wrong. I had to cancel my sons cleaning today because they are shortstaffed, as usual, and could not even take a moment to remove the hardware from his teeth. When I called the office to let her know that I had changed the appointment, she told me that they did not have technicians in the office on Thursdays, which is the day I had changed it to, but she would call me back and see what she can do. Which means they are actually only available to work on your child's braces Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. I had an appointment on Monday a few months ago and was running a few minutes late and wanted to notify them. I called the office number for 45 minutes and no one ever answered. I didn't go. I'm not sure what's going on with this practice but I can only tell you I have been surely unsatisfied and disappointed. I'm not generally one that goes to leave a review for a business, but this concerns my kid, and it seems to be an only going problem with this practice.
