Turns out the Denny's is connected to the truck stop. Flying J has everything or almost everything you're looking for if you're a traveler. I came back at night and wanted to peruse the snack aisles. While I was there, I noticed they have showers and you can pay for it and wait for your number to be called to take a shower. Also, they have both Coke and Pepsi products at the soda dispenser station. Wanted a sweet treat and got one Cinnabon in a box. Katima (?) helped me out and she was very pleasant and even suggested warming up my Cinnabon at the microwave they have available for use, at the Travel Center. If you're staying at one of the many hotels off Lenwood or stopping through, I highly suggest getting a snack, drink or shower here. There's no CVS or Target in these parts and this is the closest thing to it.

Barstow has an abundance of travel centers, yet numerous journeys through the area have made this…read morePilot the regular stop. Set along the outskirts of the city with immediate freeway access, the property gathers an impressive range of road-trip necessities into one exceptionally convenient location while sparing travelers a drive into central Barstow. The convenience store offers a broad selection of snacks, bottled and fountain beverages, refrigerated items, and microwavable meals. Pizza, hot dogs, burritos, and other prepared foods are available from the hot-food area, supplemented by a Subway within the building. The breadth of choice readily accommodates anything from a brief refueling stop to a proper meal before returning to the freeway. The amenities also reflect a thoughtful understanding of long-distance travel. Commercial trucks have dedicated parking and fueling areas, and professional drivers have access to private showers inside the travel center. Public restrooms accommodate other motorists, while a grassy pet-relief area gives dogs somewhere to stretch their legs after hours in a vehicle. Cleanliness has remained consistently high across repeated visits, and the staff have invariably been courteous and helpful. Its placement is difficult to improve upon. The Barstow outlets sit across the freeway at the same exit, reached by a short drive over the bridge. In-N-Out and several other restaurants are clustered nearby. A traveler can therefore refuel, eat, purchase provisions, use the restroom, tend to a dog, or visit the outlets without wasting time driving from one end of Barstow to another. Equally welcome is the relative calm afforded by its position beyond the more congested portion of town. The location preserves access to a substantial concentration of shops and restaurants while avoiding much of the traffic associated with central Barstow. For a stop intended to interrupt a journey as little as possible, the arrangement is superb. After numerous visits, the preference for this Pilot has become firmly established. The reason is refreshingly uncomplicated: the property is clean, the staff are helpful, the facilities are unusually comprehensive, and almost every practical need arising during a long drive can be addressed within the immediate vicinity. In a city amply supplied with competing travel centers, such sustained reliability has made this one worth returning.

The restrooms were clean, and dare I say, welcoming! :) The entire store is very well kept, I was so happily surprised! I couldn't peruse for a long time, sadly, but the staff was friendly and sincere (you can tell the difference). I have this bookmarked for future stops on my way to Vegas. Thank you!
