The only reason I'm not leaving a higher rating is because of the male waiter. He is INTENSE, and you are WRONG. Once, I ordered my food without onions, and it came chock-full og them. I asked to send it back, and he leaned way over the table to scrutinize my plate then asked me if I really ordered it without onions, which I had, he says we shall see and then goes to confer with the waitress. Then he stomps back over to yank my plate off the table. This time, I asked for the bento box with the tempura option, which is on the menu, and he proceeded to tell me it wasn't on the menu. I took the wife there for her birthday and had a wonderful time. The food and presentation is world class. Our server Tori was prompt and friendly. Since it was my wife's birthday they offered her a piece of cheese cake. She was full from her meal so she declined however, Tori offered it to go. Obviously we accepted her offer. Was told new people were running it. First time back in quite awhile and was pleasantly impressed. Ordered our sushi rolls first then our main dishes, and everything came together. Ambiance was better than I expected when I pulled into a strip mall. The little shrimp tempura appizer that is complimentary was nice. Don't be fooled by their name, they don't actually serve Kobe beef. Just standard Japanese food like sushi and hibachi stuff. The waitresses were a bit overwhelmed and less attentive, food was above average. But not bad for a small town to have s place like this. read more

This place is great, I am glad there is finally a sushi place in Hermiston. I have gotten the sushi and sashimi bento box quite a few times, the spider roll, the kiss of fire roll, and the chicken teriyaki are all fantastic. The only issue I have had, is that recently, my pick up orders take a long time. I call in and they say it will be 15-20 mins, so I leave my house about 15 mins later. When I show up, I have to wait for another 20 mins for it to be ready. This happens even when they are not busy. read more

Nine people served before us, all of them arriving after us. The hostess had to help us because our waitress was MIA and our sushi sat out forever until I could flag someone down. Over 40 minutes we waited, in plain sight of serving staff. Very disappointed. That being said, our nigiri appetizer was okay. The eel nigiri was okay. The Cowboy roll was quite good. The side of fried rice was okay. They have an extensive menu of both sushi and hot items. Comparing to other places in Hermiston, it fairs average or slightly above. Had we had a better service experience I would consider adding another star. I'm not sure if I will return. Maybe for lunch or takeout. Edited to add a star: our next two visits were not perfect. Service, again, was lacking, but the raffle is pleasant. The sushi is excellent and I'd say the nigiri is better than Sushi Ya in Kennewick in terms of freshness. The yakisoba was okay, but it's definitely got a Chinese food influence I'm not used to. Teriyaki chicken is too dry and fried rice doesn't have a ton of flavor. I want to go back to try ramen, and more sushi of course. It's not perfect, but they are open to feedback. The sushi is delicious though, and it's worth it just for that! read more

Hands down my favorite place to eat in Hermiston. The service is prompt and the restaurant is clean and esthetically pleasing. Not to mention the food is awesome. The only downfall is if you're going at dinner time or on a weekend evening it does tend to take longer to get a table or your food. Did not want to cook tonight. Figured we would try the new sushi restaurant recommended by co-workers. Such a good choice. Hubby had hibachi chicken and I had the sushi bento. My family loves this place. The sushi is fresh & delicious, the employees are friendly, the prices are great. It's a cozy place & we like that, you just feel very comfortable here. We drive right on by the "shiny new" sushi place on the north end of town where we live, to the south end just for this amazing gem. It's that great! First week in business, and they were quite busy, but the wait was worth it. I ordered the 2 roll sushi lunch special, which is any two rolls from a select lunch menu. I got an Alaska roll and a Super California roll (tempura fried Ca roll). My wife got the chicken teriyaki bento box. Both were good. She doesn't like sushi, but I feel like mine was better tasting and a better deal. Staff were friendly, place was quiet and clean. I am amazed that this high quality sushi was found in Hermiston! What a great hole-in-the-wall restaurant to have in Eastern Oregon. The sushi was fantastic - I LOVED the Evergreen roll. My dad ordered a vegetarian roll with mango and avocado, it was delicious too! The chicken bowls came with a ton of food, same with the bentos.
