I couldnt tell you how many times ive driven by Koala carpet and flooring across from Costco. Probably close to 1000 times over the last 20 something years. The opportunity to stop finally happened. Like others, I had driven by Koala Carpets for years and never stopped in. BIG MISTAKE!! Steve and his team were outstanding and at a very reasonable price. Spilled Drano and stained carpet outside master bathroom. Stopped by Koala and Steve spent about 30 min with us explaining our options. We decided to pull-up the master closet carpet and use it for our replacement carpet and install a remnant in the closet. Steve being Steve, suggested we stop by two days later (Sat morning) since his installers grandchildren were having a "remnant sale" to raise money to buy walkie talkies for themselves . We couldn't resist helping the kids. . Found a remnant and they said whatever you feel is fair would be fine - the type of business this is - caring people. Installer (Jose) just left my house and he did a FANTASTIC job installing the carpet and matching the pattern with limited carpet to work with. Clean, neat and a very nice man with a ton of experience. A lot of carpet companies would have never taken on this "nuisance" job but Steve and his team did. Additionally, Steve had personally called me twice prior to install to keep me updated. Excellent service. I know this was not a money maker but we were very impressed with the level of service and we will definitely go back when we replace our carpet in our house and at our rental properties. A great local company with amazing prices! We first moved to the area and desperately needed help removing a pet smell from our newly purchased home. Steve suggested bleaching the floor prior to installing the pad and carpet and that took care of the problem! I had done my homework and compared prices at Home Depot and the carpet Steve provided was superior and at a better price. I never felt pressured or that he was trying to "hard sell" me through the process. Most recently, we had a washing machine flood and needed new padding (his quality carpet wasn't affected). He basically sold me pad at wholesale price - I just had to pay for labor. I had a mold issue and Steve came out to measure my room and didn't charge which other company's do. I selected my carpet and within s few days they came out to install my carpet. 8 years ago I had another small business do the worse job ever install carpet and wood floors. I called for a quote on my kitchen floor and entryway. Steve said he'd call back as he was with a customer. No return call so I stupidly called back a few days later. This time he said he'd come by later that afternoon. That never happened either. Have to wonder if he's even still doing flooring. Why would someone who presumably wants your business be that flaky? Not sure why there are bad reviews, we had nothing but a great experience with Steve & his crew. We needed carpet in my mother in laws house as we are selling it, most places tried to sell us expensive carpet that we didn't need but Steve gave us a great deal on a nice carpet, about a dollar a square foot cheaper than anywhere else. The measuring was done at our convenience & the install went without a hitch, the carpet looks great & the installers were nice guys that took a lot of care with the job. Let me start by saying how grateful we are for Steve at Koala Carpets. We just finished our 3rd replacement carpet install in 2 years. Twice we received a bad batch of carpet from the manufacturer. Steve, the owner of Koala Carpet, went to bat for us to make sure the manufacturer replaced our carpet and we got what we wanted. It took him dozens of phone calls and a lot of time to make this happen...knowing he wasn't getting any additional payment. For him, the priority was making sure that our family had good carpet that would last, and a good experience with him and his team. He did that in spades. He personally oversaw the install which was done with such precision...we couldn't be happier. He gave us such great advice on what type of carpet/pad would make sense for our family/lifestyle...he's been doing this long enough to know exactly what to recommend. Ok. The unfinished tarp paper roof that has been on this store for about 5 years (no joke ) sums up this business. No follow through, no thoughts to image and no design flair. It's kind of like going to a barber that has crappy hair. This store is a leaky, run down, moldy old house. The joke is that these guys have a great location right near Costco but refuse to finish the roofing job for about 1/2 a decade. They lose so much business due to poor image. The unfinished 15k roofing job probably costs them about 4x that in lost business annually. I figured I would give them a shot and made an appointment for a 4000 sq foot carpet job and wood flooring job Guess what? A no show twice. No phone Call, no email, no text. The two brothers blamed each other and were quite rude to me. Like it was my fault I didn't want to reschedule a third time. News flash boyz. Your image will cost you your business. Hire a roofing company and finish the job. No one...I repeat..NO ONE want to use a home improvement contractor that can't even finish its own repairs. The tar paper and exposed roof has been there since Clinton was in the Whitehouse. GET A CLUE.... read more
