CAMA has a strong focus on personal betterment and learning and classes are always interesting, fun and engaging. I started here when I was a small child and now that I'm (several years) finished with college, I still can't imagine training anywhere else. As a woman, I think it's important to know how to defend myself in any situation. CAMA teaches not only self-defense, but also situational awareness in a way that truly prepares their students for whatever they might encounter in real life: anything from that creepy guy at the store who follows you to your car to what to do if you accidentally slip. One of the things that I love about the Seizan Ryu Jujitsu that CAMA teaches is that it doesn't matter how muscular you are--you can always use your opponent's momentum against them. It's incredibly empowering! An added bonus: you won't find any aggressive MMA students here. CAMA is all about respecting each other and ourselves--this is a lady friendly dojo!

After a really awful experience at a place in Denver, I decided to take my kids to this school…read more Now - it's a hike from Denver, but I spoke with the owner who told me to come in and try the school for a couple of weeks. A couple of weeks! And then sign up if our kids like it. Not only that, but he was polite, pleasant, not in a hurry and so, so professional. So the next day, I get a call from the director who handles enrollment asking if I had any additional questions. So I called him back and we chatted for way longer than he probably wanted to - I only say this because I know I'm chatty as hell. So I take the kids to the class and oh my. Night and day from the awful customer service we received the day before from that craptastic Denver school I mentioned earlier. The teachers (sensei) - are awesome - Patient, energetic, and fun. My younger daughter's classes were taught by two women - I love strong female role models for girls and boys! The studio is clean and inviting and the atmosphere is way Mr. Miyagi. I will tell you that the little one was not as excited about this class at first because there was not as much punching and kicking and show pony board breaking as the Denver class (should I be worried?) but I think the message and methods taught at this school - and less punching - is really what we want for our kids at the end of the day. I want my kids to feel confident and learn how to defend themselves - extra aggression is unnecessary. Wax on, wax off. The school does want a commitment of 6 months to a year. We stayed for three years until other after school activities made the drive to littleton too difficult to commit further. I'm sad about that, truthfully. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for a professional, low pressure but high quality martial arts training for kids or adults.

He's been there two weeks now and I can safely say it's the best decision we could have made for our child. Strive is incredible. There is no gimmick, no up selling, upgrading, paying for belts. It is up front and honest in a way that I didn't know existed in the martial arts world anymore. The kids are happy and having fun but in the most properly structured environment I've ever witnessed. They have clear concise direction and expectations that they happily elevate themselves to meet. It manages to both be fun and controlled at the same time. The owner clearly believes in the kids and encourages them with kindness and strength to be their best. We also love the level of fitness and conditioning involved in their training. I strongly believe strength and fitness is an integral part of martial arts and life. These kids are being taught life skills in conditioning their most valuable asset: their bodies and future health. A kid who trains at Strive will have a distinct advantage in the world. Finally the clarity of training is incomparable. The kids are given clear concise directions that are easy to follow and understand. They learn actively and take the time to learn the names, each step as well as why they do each thing they do. After witnessing 6-8 classes at Strive I can confidently say it is a uniquely impressive school and would be an excellent choice for any child or adult.

We did a lot of research before we chose Easton BJJ based on its wonderful reviews. We're writing…read morethis to add yet another one! Our boy is initially shy with kids he doesn't know. Frankly, he used to be scared to try new things, too. We realized that he stood to benefit from martial arts training in so many ways: In addition to stepping out of his comfort zone and taking chances, he could get good exercise and learn to defend himself. He gets all of that and so much more at Easton BJJ. It sounds cliché, but EVERYONE who works at Easton is warm, inviting, inclusive and supportive. We worked with Coach Daniel to set up our first class. Despite the most amazing efforts by him, Professor Nick, and Coach Tala, he was too scared to get onto the mat and participate in the class. We anticipated this and allowed him to just observe since it was the first time he had seen the class. It took some coaxing, but we got him back to Easton for a second class. The incredible coaches kept trying to get him comfortable and buddy up with him, but without pressure. He cried. A lot. By his third or fourth class, he loved Jiu Jitsu and wanted to know how soon he could come back. Now we come to class at least twice a week. Our son works hard, spars with lots of different partners (some of whom are bigger than he is,) and actively engages with his teammates and coaches. He is proud to earn stripes because of his dedication and progress. His personal growth outside of the gym in just a few months was remarkable. His confidence, his ability to focus, his respect for himself and others, and his willingness to try new things have all grown at an amazing pace. These traits come from what happens on the mat, and they are shaping his character. And I know that if/when he gets into a physical confrontation, he will be confident, get on top of his opponent, and stay on top! Classes are fun, and the coaches ensure that the kids work hard and grow. The kids learn moves and spar, but there is a lot of emphasis on principles. Weekly mat-chat is a discussion that install important values like respect, sportsmanship, and emotions. At this point, Easton BJJ is very much a part of our kid's identity. He loves it so much that we had his 6th birthday party there and all of the kids had a blast. Many thanks to Coach Teddy for leading an incredible party filled with games, fun, and learning! Lastly, what really makes Easton BJJ is the people. Professor Nick, Coach Daniel, Coach Alisha, Coach Chris, Coach Teddy and Coach Taylor are so good at what they do, and our guy loves them! Each of them knows every kid by name and skill level. The individual attention and support they give kids who need it is heart-warming, and it WORKS! They help kids who get a little bruise or are having a bad day stay on the mat and get back into class. They not only know Jiu Jitsu, they know children, too. We simply cannot thank you enough for providing a safe, fun, and exciting environment for our kid to learn and develop. What the amazing coaches and staff have built at Easton BJJ is hard to describe, but I encourage you to try it--you will love what they're doing there, and so will your kid!

The training is meh and the treatment of their customers is even worse. Shame on Easton Training Center. Do better!

As someone who asked for leniency in a time of struggle, I'd like share my upsetting experience. While attending this gym, I was struggling through abuse from men. I was also struggling to make ends meet, and I just wanted a place to put my head down and work. I was not left alone. Multiple fighters at this gym mocked and made fun of me in front of other members at this gym. I heavily avoided interaction. While sitting in my car on the side of the freeway, I texted and asked; "Could I possibly pause billing and attending for a two week period and then resume?" The response from the gym owner was; "Our system doesn't hold for less than a month." Luckily, God provided and my ex boyfriend offered to pay $200 for me to keep training. (That's the monthly rate.) I will provide a screenshot of this conversation. I asked in person to a kind instructor, and he told me that sounded very reasonable. There are a couple people at this gym that are genuine. After leaving a comment on a recent instagram post relating to this GuardianGym, I was contacted by the owner. (This post was requesting donations for those struggling financially.) She attempted to apologize, and in the same breath she asked for the deletion of my comment. Also while apologizing, she was attempting to blame and deflect the responsibility that she denied my request for a freeze. She then deleted my comment herself. This inspired me to share my experience. I want to add that in the screenshot she asked for me to add my card on file. I added my card. As seen, she later reached out to me to say "my card" was declining. She was instead attempting to charge my ex boyfriend's card, as mine ended in 3899. When opportunity to be rude presented itself, it was taken. I also experienced rude interactions with her daughter who is the 'pretty blonde girl' who works the front desk referenced in an honest review below.
