If you're looking for an overnight stop or an extended stay I can say with confidence this KOA delivers. I usually book all my RV outings online and it doesn't get much easier than using the KOA app, it's always nice to have a clear understanding of the amenities, over-all description and photos of any place you plan to visit so the app is one stop shopping for me when I'm planNing a stay at any KOA. I couldn't wait to spend Easter Weekend at this campground and was surprised when I found sites available when I first looked at booking it. Most RVers know planning is everything and booking weeks or months in advance increases the odds that you'll get what you want. The growing popularity of RVing has presented some reservation challenges especially if you have a larger rig, but it's doable it just requires better planning, not to say spontaneous outings are impossible it just takes a little more work. This KOA is very popular, I know I've tried to get in here in the past and found it nearly impossible to find a stretch of days that worked for me - weekdays are much easier to book than weekends of course. Well after arriving here I found out why - it all starts with checking-in, if you booked online this will probably be the first interaction with the staff here. I can tell you from my experience it was wonderful, the young lady working the counter was extremely friendly and professional, she made sure everything was as I had booked it and that I was happy, she even reminded me that my KOA Value Kard was expired that she could renew it so I wouldn't lose any rewards points and still get my discount for the stay. I was then escorted to the site by a young man in a golf cart, he hung around a few minutes to make sure I made the corner and was safely aligned on the pad (which was fairly level). The site had full hook-ups, the electrical panel was in great condition and had both 50 amp and 30 amp service as well as 120 volt receptacles - the water and sewer hook-up were clean and well maintained making setting up quick and easy. We stayed here Friday through Monday and couldn't have been more pleased - our site had a wonderful view of the lake and was well maintained and clean, it also came with a patio table, four chairs, a propane grill with a full bottle of propane, a rocking bench for relaxing and enjoying the view, a fire pit and chiminea (the store had plenty of firewood for sale although it was a little green and didn't provide the btu's we were hoping for being the temperatures were in the mid 50's and 60's) but it wasn't a deal breaker the s'mores were still delicious lol. This is a beautiful campground and we look forward to returning again and again...

One of the best Koa holiday I've stayed at. They have pedal boats, bike rentals, Old town trolley stops there, and the beautiful lake! Some Pull through sites were not very level but not terrible. They allow you to ride electric scooters. They claim the lake has fish and you can fish but I've spent about 5 hours and nothing

Around eight miles off of I-95 and twenty miles south of Jacksonville, this KOA is a twenty-five minute walk to St. Augustine Beach. Pull through spot with private dump drain. They also give you a round table and four chairs, a bench, a grill, a chiminea, and a fire pit. We were situated lakeside and could see ducklings and a paddle boat float through. We woke up around 8 a.m. and walked to the beach. There is a pier which you have to pay for access. We opted to go to the Starbucks located inside the nearby Embassy Suites, got some iced coffees and enjoyed the sights from Embassy's back patio.

Spots are clean. Great scenery. The folks at the office were funny and friendly. My first KOA experience and it's worth the extras. Cable, WiFi, 50 amp, table and chairs and even a gas grill right on our pull through spot. Setting up was quick and easy. They pick up trash froM your site. Exits to a side road next to a traffic light for easy way out. We walked 3/4 of a mile to the beach on a very wide sidewalk. Super convenient to downtown St Augustine too.

This is the 3rd KOA camping site we visit. There is nothing wrong with the facilities at all. Their service is great but it feels like camping in a backyard. Nothing for the kids to explore at all. You need to go out siteseeing spend $$ and then you come back to unnecessary and unpractical chores. For tents @$75/night or the small cabins for $140 we definitely can do better in a hotel. We visited Anastasia state park camping sites just blocks away, on the beach site, and most definitely will be our next aventure. They have gated entrance after 8pm a ranger 24/7 and every site is private. At the KOA there is security at all. Maybe for a start up tent experience KOA will fit the purpose but I think we are ready to the next level challenge. Also- this time my kids were bullied and harrased by older kids from one of the RV while walking the short path at night. Thank God I was walking on the other side of the pond so I ran to them on time.

I loved this place! So organized, clean and everyone was silent and respectful! Went for a day and was so pleasantly surprised! Can't wait to go again with my family to enjoy with a bigger group. Maybe even bet a cabin! There was a pit for bbq and you can connect your power to an outlet. Bathrooms were very clean too!

This was our 50th RV Campground since we started our trip nearly 9 months ago. I was looking forward to visiting St Augustine thanks to some friends recommendations and of course, it is the oldest city in North America. Our stay at the KOA was very disappointing from the moment I pulled into the campground. Our nightly rate of $67 was the most we had spent on our trip so far, so I was expecting some pizzazz. Instead, I was greeted by an unhappy employee who did not want to help me and a campground full of 'Out of Order' signs. I paid a bit more for a 'premium' space, but the only thing premium was having a small 'wooded' area between you and other RV spaces. Our space was up front so we had lots of noise from the tour buses and other campers. Our picnic table and patio area was in disrepair. The space was very unleveled, there was at least a one-foot elevation difference. We had full hookups and surprisingly the WiFi was reliable (not enough for me to work on, but good enough for casual browsing). The cable TV worked, but the channels were limited (we did get two religious channels, including the infamous GOD TV). The 'play' area was pathetic, run down, and dirty. The laundry room had 20% of the washers 'Out of Order' and two out of the three dryers were 'Out of Order' our visit. The game room looked sad; half the machines were 'Out of Order'. It seemed you could not walk around the RV campground without seeing those three dreaded words, 'Out of Order'. The RV Campground is centrally located, you of course have to drive into the city but who would expect a RV Campground in a 500+ year old city? There were shops and food nearby. At the end of the day, our stay was pleasant. I could not imagine coming here again though and paying nearly $70 a night. This is a $40 per night RV Campground, not a penny more. Would I recommend this park? Not really. Would we come back? No. Informational: We travel in a 36' Class A RV.

This past weekend we planned a camping trip to the local KOA in Saint Augustine Beach. Typically, we drive up to a KOA campground in Georgia but because of the burn ban due to wildfires we decided to try out this one instead. When I made the reservation I mentioned this and I got a rather snarky response that we would definitely like this property better than that property, which smacked of snobbiness which I thought was weird, but I thought maybe this campground was just really that superior, so they were proud. I have to say, that after 10 minutes upon arrival we considered losing our entire deposit and leaving, but decided to make the best of it because this was a camping trip we have been looking forward to. We checked in and got to the cabin which was extremely hot because the air had not been turned onto prior to our arrival, which was no big deal, but the musty smell was almost intolerable. In addition, the porch, the porch swing, and even some of the inside were covered in spiderwebs. Unlike the other KOA campgrounds we have enjoyed, this one did not have a mini fridge, but fortunately we had brought a cooler. We sent the children to the playground to play while we figured out if we wanted to move to a different cabin and literally after less than five minutes of playing with the tetherball, the children walked off the playground with red swollen bites covering their legs which I believe were either sand mites or fleas. This meant no playground for the weekend for the kids to play on. We did inquire about paying the upgrade to a deluxe cabin simply hoping it would have a less musty smell but after going to view it it was the same size with just a kitchen area shoved into it and was just as musty so we opted to stay at our original cabin. The "lake" that the cabins sit on is really more of a pond. It has a lot of turtles and birds and ducks, which was a lot of fun for the kids to see. The drop off into the lake 6 feet from the campfire ring was it stressful for a family with young children and I definitely would not recommend a lakeside cabin for a family with toddlers. If you were in an RV there is a huge area with a bathhouse right in the middle of it for convenience. The tent campsites are an afterthought just kind of pushed to the side off of the road. Other KOA campgrounds that we have visited have quite a few activities for the kids. This is not the case with this campground. As I mentioned, the playground was unusable and, although they have paddleboats, they were infested with spiders when we got on them and spent a good part of the time killing them with our flip-flops. We still did have fun on them admittedly however. They have some pedal bikes you can rent but other than a dirt path in a circle around the campground there is no where to use them really. The pool is beautiful. It has a shallow end and a deep and that is 8 feet deep. The shallow end it was still too deep for my six-year-old to touch, so if you have really little ones, bring a flotation device or plan to hold them the whole time while you swim. We swam countless times throughout the weekend because that was the best thing to do at the campground and because the pool was a perfect temperature and very clean. The location of this campground is great if you want to visit the Saint Augustine attractions. It is reasonably close to old town St Augustine and also the beach. Since we do not live far from the area we were not looking to do those activities and were really hoping to spend more time on the campground. All in all, this campground is more for passers through or for people just looking to sleep while they spend their days touring the city. This is not the family campground that I typically see at KOA despite their claims to be. The staff was very friendly and helpful while we were there, I must say, and I'm sure if we had complained they would've try to accommodate us but there just wasn't much to be done since the problem was with the facilities, so complaining seemed pointless. We had a great weekend because we made it a great weekend and enjoyed spending time together as a family.
