We stayed over Easter weekend. It was a last minute trip so it was nice that we were able to get a spot. Pros: All RV spots are pull through Hook ups are available on both sides so you can choose which way you face. Park itself of quiet Clean restrooms and showers Nice staff Cons: It was kind of tight getting in and out of the spot we had. Mostly because of our neighbors vehicles You can hear the traffic from the street Airplanes fly over all day (not really a big deal in my opinion, but another family I met there complained about it) Jacuzzi didn't get very hot, it was more like like warm bath water. There was a sign that said the jets were off until the 19th.. as of the 20th & 21st they still weren't working. Pool isn't heated, but that didn't stop our kids. Empty market. GOOD: Phone reservation people were really nice to work with. Nice campground, but very little space between sites. Had a pool + jac. BAD: When we got there to check in around 3pm, walked around trying to find the office due to no signage, asked a guy who pointed to a door. It was a laundry room so went down a hall and KOA employees were setting up for an event. I asked where do we check in and a guy yells LOUD & rudely, "WE'RE CLOSED - YOUR ENVELOPE IS OUTSIDE!!!" And we were suppose to know that how?!? Nothing told us this on any paper work for the reservation either. Walked outside trying to find where this envelope place was. Again so signage on it so actually walked past it once. Didn't have that organized nice KOA vibe like others. That dude was way out of line. read more

Pros- Camp site is near the everything. Can walk to the fair. The site and bathroom is very clean. Swimming pool is clean, but small. Resident are friendly. Staff in check in friendly. They did change my camp site without asking, which was annoying. You can also bike around the camp site. They have two full plug-in's and waste on each site (which was a big plus), I could choose which way I want to put my camper. I assume this camp site would be extremely fun, during the fair and other events. They have a lot of picnic tables. Streets are clean and they have a lot of beautify trees, the shade made the warm weather very nice. Target is 1.7 miles away if you need anything. Cons- The site has a lot of permanent residents. Some have laundry hanging on a wire, which I found tacky. Sites are extremely small approximately 5 feet of grass in between each camper, unless you have a premium stall. We rented on Memorial day weekend. it was extremely noisy. The campsite 166 is by a major street, which was noisy all night with cars racing up and down the street. No camp fires, although I did see people using the propane ones. They have a dog park with lots of barking dog in the morning and night. The price is $75/night nicer parks in the area, but during the pandemic there was not much of a choice. read more

We stayed here the last week it was a KOA. Wow, talk about tight spaces. Cannot open my awning all the way. Just enough room for slide outs. A lot of long term units looking a bit ghetto. We ventured over to Bonelli Bluffs for the maximum 21 day stay. However, before we left here for Bonelli, we made return reservations in person and paid a deposit for a premium end spot (wider space) to allow full use of awning. So when it was time to return, they lost our reservations and blamed KOA. They found a TIGHT spot for us though and as I was driving through to it, I drove past the spot we paid to reserve and it was empty! They said that reservation was in tact (Ugh). No "I'm sorry for the inconvenience", no discount and apparently we were the third ones this has happened to. I suppose you get what you pay for. read more

February 2022. Came here to the Fairplex in my RV and paid more than $100 per night to stay on the fairgrounds for the NHRA Drag races. Stayed near the NHRA museum. Been going here for 8 years now except 2021. Always been a great experience. But now you're not even allowed to ride a bicycle in the Fairplex let alone anything else. There's these people from Allied Universal security who have nothing to do but zoom around on these carts and hassle anyone on a bike or God help them, on anything else. I talked to one of them and the person pointed out some of the cameras that are all over. Seems they're all afraid of someone named Doreen and apparently there is someone who has nothing to do but watch screens to see if someone is riding a bike or anything else. It felt like a prison camp the whole time with these Allied Universal carts and vehicles zooming around, and rather fast at that, looking for people that the person who is watching the screens radios them to catch. It wasn't this way before. Crazy. Never coming back. Ever. read more

The person responsible for the $1 charge on Coffee is Alex. This campground was clean but the sites were much too close. We had a 6 foot strip of dirt and grass between us and the camper next to us. While we were in a longer site, there really wasn't any place to sit outside. When I did, I looked at the back of the bus next to us. Staff was friendly but for what it's worth, the Registration office was like a convenient store. Very sparse, and not welcoming. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this if you're looking for a nice place to stay overnight. If you're looking for a parking lot, it's fine. read more

Tent camped here during a trip to the LA County Fair. Positives are the close walk to and from the Fair, shade, and hot water in shower. Table, light, and outlet available at site. Parking is kinda far but we parked our car at site and offloaded/loaded. Tent sites get watered along "curb" at night. No idea why. The ground is mulch. It's very annoying. Wasn't expecting much from the site but long walk to the restroom was inconvenient. The dirty ass restroom was the worst part. Floors don't get cleaned, stalls were dirty with broken or missing hooks, and the showers ewww. Felt dirtier after I took a shower. Sink had a bucket under to catch leaky pipe. The smell! It hits you when you walk in. I wouldn't stay here again. We stood due to convince to the Fair and was pleased. KOA not keeping the one restroom that serves the entire ground clean is unacceptable. Positive - great bathrooms, friendly staff Negative - Is not as described. We rented tent space. We expected a tent space in a KOA facility, away from congestion. The tent spaces backup to a large parking lot for Fairplex. The lot was completely full and cars entered and exited right next to our tent (see picture). It was loud, chaotic, distracting and not what we were expecting for our camping experience. No where does KOA state these are possible conditions. When checking in, the staff did not notify me that we would hear cars, drunk people from the event, horns, sirens, etc until 1am. Cars leaving were 2 feet from our tent, separated only by a chain link fence. The bonus street sweeper came in at 5:30 am to clean up the parking lot. This was hardly the get away their site makes it out to be. read more

If you are a tent camper have second thoughts. RV camping seems to be catered to. Tent campers are left out to dry. You can't park near your tent. In our case it was pouring rain all weekend. With a 6 year old and a 14 month old, this was difficult. Parking is is a solid 100 yards away. And the bathrooms are even further away than that. The men's showers are beat up, there are no soap holders and only one has a towel hook, the others' is broken off. Got woken up by our female neighbor the second night who apparently thinks tents are sound proof and proceeded to yell/talk on the phone and to her boy friend well into the middle of the night. Also! There was an RV convention in town and the convention center parking lots' exit is directly behind you! So if you are as unlucky as we were to be there an event weekend! Don't expect to enjoy the any "nature noises" until after 9pm or later as far after car speeds out the exit. If you have a scheduled cleaning time stick to it. Especially when you only have 1 bathroom and the KOA is full and just waking up at 8:20am! The cleaning person allowed me to enter to pee. And said "I'm just picking up, not cleaning." Said this a few times actually. But this person came out and had a squeegee in their hand. I don't know many people who would use a squeegee to pick up trash. Just yet another reason for the one star review. Staff seems friendly enough. But tent camping is stuck in the back with little to no regulation and the worst parking situation I have experienced in a KOA. San Diego KOA is far superior and is preferred by me 10/10. The rain was nice. Just wish we did not have to get soaked each and every time we had to pack up and make the trek to the car! read more

Pretty good, but could have been better. We pulled in about 1am and were trying to quietly set up our tent trailer. When I lifted the electrical box lid I was greeted by spider webs, spiders, and egg sags. So disgusting!! I didn't want to reach inside to plug in even! The cleanout was plugged securely, but it was so wet around it that it made me a bit suspicious. Didn't want to touch that water... The pool was older, but we really enjoyed swimming. I liked the covered area for relaxing. Breakfast was fantastic, I was really impressed. Plenty of coffee, orange juice, muffins, croissants, waffles, etc. However, more seating is definitely needed. I was slightly confused at the lack of the club house, which we have come to expect at a KOA. There was a big room, totally empty. Also, the only bathroom was up at the club house, usually there is one more centrally located. I feel like some KOAs are REALLY clean. This one was clean, but wasn't sparkling like some of the other ones I've been in. The unkempt electrical board really kinda put me off. I'd say 3 1/2 stars. I was happy to lay my head there for two nights, but wouldn't go there if I didn't have to. read more

Meh. Two stars for existing - and it's not a total dump, but it's not one of your nicer KOAs. Tiny spots with "beautiful landscaping" consisting of mostly small patches of dead grass. The store has almost nothing - despite being a large space. It's empty except for one shelf of the most minimal items. For instance, no garbage bags. I've come here with an RV fully of teens so that they can attend a concert while I loaf in comfort. Be forewarned - I can literally hear the lyrics of the bands. That's how loud the nearby concerts are. Good thing I was expecting it and also that my a/c is so loud. Some other bad reviews had to do with the location next to a large event venue. Yeah, duh, that's why it's called "KOA Fairplex!" But what's getting under my skin is that I took the time to deliberately upgrade a few levels for a nicer spot and I don't think I was given what I paid for. We stayed at Pomona KOA this last holiday weekend and were blown away by the rude uncaring employees, the dirty messy campgrounds, the amenities offered and not available at the campground and how just old, run down and tiny the sites were in general! When we pulled through our site in our 34 foot RV we couldn't even open up our compartments all the way and we couldn't get any closer on the other side without hitting the picnic table! We actually had to step out of the RV and onto the picnic table to get out of the RV! Besides this when we checked in the employees were fighting, rude and on their cell phones and couldn't answer our questions correctly. On your website it said there was a sauna; There was not one. It also said there was cable. There were not cable hookups at our site. When we went to the pool there were drinks spilled everywhere and ants EVERYWHERE. We couldn't even stay at the pool the bugs were so bad. (Before we left my boyfriend actually cleaned the pool, too, because it was so dirty we could not even swim) We were told there would be complementary breakfast. On Monday when we checked out a homeless guy was in the dining area and took a giant plate of food and left, took the remaining muffins and juice and when I complained employees told me, "Tomorrow is the last day of free breakfast so we are out now" I heard the employees talking about the homeless guy so they knew he was just there for the free food... We paid almost $100 a night for our tiny cramped spot and they just let the local homeless population have all the food meant for customers? Not to mention other people who stay for months at this RV spot were at least nice enough to warn us to lock every compartment and hide our bikes because things are constantly stolen here every night. The store was huge but had a few candy bars and that was it. This place was such a waste of money and so expensive! And we were stressed thinking our bikes would be stolen every night. We just signed up for their value card and I have no idea why! Is every KOA this terrible?! I saw the Undercover Bosses episode with the CEO on it and I expected the employees to be nice and the service top notch. I have never paid so much for such a terrible camping experience! We stayed here for four nights over New Years. We had some doubts before we arrived based on the reviews here but we were very satisfied with our stay. Yes, the sites are close but we have seen that many times at older RV Parks. It just takes a little extra care in setting up. We have a 25 foot motor home but we were one of a handful that size. There were hundreds of full size RV's all set up comfortably with slides fully extended. There was plenty of room to exit the motorhome and plenty of room for the picnic table too. The landscaping is very nice and well cared for. There are many trees and the overall look of the park is excellent. There is a long dog walking path along two sides of the park with tall shrubbery and trees for shade. We very much appreciated that. The showers and restrooms are very nice and kept clean. We only had contact with the staff at the office a couple of times but they were helpful and courteous. Not much in the way of products of the store, just one short display with fewer items than you see at most KOA stores. There are many shopping opportunities within a few minutes drive. We were parked almost as far from the showers and store as you could be but it took about a minute or so to walk there. Yes, the location is next to a very large fairgrounds complex and drag racing strip so if you go during an event, you will hear them. Just as you would expect. If you have ever stayed at a KOA, you will not have any surprises. All in all, a very good experience here at this well run facility and we would not hesitate to return. read more

As a medical professional during this pandemic I traveled to give assistance to the local Hospital I briefly stayed at the Fair Play Rv Park. At first check in was normal as to be expected no problems. The sites are very close to each other I noticed. I did eventually have a not so nice encounter with the girl in the office. I feel like this park would benefit from some actual customer service training. She was very snide and rude with me. She acts like it kills her to do her job. I traveled along way, put my life on the front line for your community and the thanks I got was being mocked and ridiculed. read more

Traveling full-time in a 38-foot coach we stayed 1-night in a pull-thru site for big rigs which was long enough we were able to leave our car attached. Each site had a strip of grass separating the sites. This was our first visit here. If you have satellite, it is unlikely you will receive reception because of all the beautiful tall trees surrounding the park. We enjoyed our one-night stay here and would stay again. read more

I never really expect KOA's to be much more than just a couple nights stay and this KOA was pretty much as expected. The sites were small, cramped and the sites, although paved, were broken down. The spaces were so close together, even the pull-thrus, that a lot of rigs with decent length and God forbid a slide out you can pretty much touch their next door neighbor. And although they have a dog run, their dog runs were over run by mud and water since they were pretty much just dirt. The sites were pretty over run with water too, with enough rain since the spots were really uneven. The location also had a 3 week limit stay for those long termers. But on the plus side, the workers are super nice. read more

KOA Fairplex - Recreation Centers Near Me - Pomona, California

We live in Orange County and often go tent camping one or two nights away on fast, short trips. Normally we stay in state parks. Weekends in a California State Park along the beach are almost impossible and we had not tried out a KOA so we thought we would give it a try. First impression, visually, was not so hot. It's in an urban-industrial-fairgrounds-racetrack area in LA County. Also, on the map they gave us at the desk so we could find out spot, it looked like a thousand miles to walk to the bathroom. Turns out it takes exactly 2 minutes to stroll all the way across the park, so that was not an issue at all. Bathrooms way cleaner and nicer than anything in the State Parks--nice showers too and you don't need quarters or tokens--they are free. Super hot weather inland (95 degrees) but the pool helped a lot because it was not heated and the cool (not cold) water was awesome. Went swimming twice. Hot tub was also good---and sociable. We met the delightful Miss Annie, who is having her 79th birthday and lives at the park in the tub. Lots of people live there and are real sociable with us camper types. Everyone waves and smiles. One surprising thing was that the camp was full of...Germans! Tourists from all over Germany use it as a stopping off place to see LA. Many are on a "drive around the country" tour of one kind or another. Food across the street at the Sports Bar was super good. Get the buffalo burger. It's also a big horse-racing establishment, so you watch lots of people betting on horses as you eat. Campers are super quiet at night and in the morning (also way different from the State Parks). Taking down our tent today, we were very sad to leave and will certainly be back. read more

I do not complain much BUT when I do it's for a valid reason. Well, 163 days ago I made reservations at the KOA Pomona RV resort. I called them so that I could speak to the people who work there and reserve a specific site, site number 25. I've stayed at this KOA before and this site is at the end of a row with grass so my two children can have a great weekend while I go look visit the RV show next door at the fairgrounds. This is what they call this site is a Premier site which I knew this because they informed me at the time of my reservation. Seven days ago on September 27th at 5:28 PM I called the KOA and when I spoke to the person on the phone "He" informed me that I had (on the original reservation) requested 25 and I will get site 25 even if I check in late (which was my worry) but because it was my request and nobody else will be in that site that I will be fine. (Can you tell I was a bit adamant about wanting that site and that's only?) The call lasted 5mins. Great, so now after arriving just before they close they tell me they gave site 25 to a display-unit for one of the dealers (Dennis Dilon RV, www.ddrv.com ) at the RV show. Then the KOA guy said that he had no records of me requesting any site. Even said those sites are hundreds of dollars, and I only have a standard site which is on record from my original reservation. I showed the idiot my call logs (remember that I called one week before and I was told that I originally requested 25 and that I would get it) The RV in site 25 isn't even hooked up and no one is in it. What it is being used for during the day, DDRV is using site 25 for their salesman to park at and then walk over to the show. Am I missing something here? Now if I called 163 days earlier asking for site 25 (what they called a premium site) you would assume I would get a Premium site right? They gave me a Standard Site that I could barely pull in, their so-called Pull-in site and it is in between a full timer and the ground smells like PISS (URINE) because they have two sewer hoses hooked up and something is obviously not sealed. The other neighbors awning is literally 1-3/4 of an inch away from the slide-out. We were unable to bbq outside and if we wanted to we had to leave the surrounding of our RV. AND THE MANAGER IS HIDING AND WILL NOT CALL ME BACK. read more

Mixed review because of personal experience. I was a late arrival and called in, they took my credit card. they said they would leave info outside the office door- I specifically asked on the phone about the internet access code and bathroom code. We got there at 11:30pm. Info was left as promised- NO BATHROOM CODE. I was outraged- we were under a time crunch to return our rented RV back to carson City and a shower was mandatory that night. I called security they gave me a code- it was WRONG. They were confused and gave me a code to the men's room instead hoping I could use that as an alternate- WRONG AGAIN. I have to wait an hour for security to show up and unlock the bathroom. They said the code was changed without their knowledge. A nice woman gave me the code around 1am. The next morning I went to the office to explain my situation and she said "You should have gone to lot 58 where the manager lives'. I said at 1am? Really? How about since you already charged my cc and I called in- you should have just written it down on the paperwork you left me? Give me a break. Other than that- it's a nice park in a convenient area. The showers and baths are nice. Seems to be many permanent residents there. Nice surrounding residences and only 50 minutes to LA. read more

Not to mention that you are packed in there sites like sardines with very little room for barbecuing.For the price that they charge to camp here it is not worth it. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this KOA is. We reserved here over Easter weekend, because the place we usually go in San Dimas was all booked up. I did not have high expectations of this park, but went in hoping it would at least be quiet to sleep. Aside from the road noise, the park itself is very quiet, in fact, the guests we among the most quiet and respectful we have seen in any RV park. The spaces are very close together, but the Premium Patio sites do give you a little more ground space. All the sites are pull through and have the added benefit of having hook ups on both sides, so you can pull in and face whichever direction you like best, I thought this was a terrific feature and one I have not seen before. The park was very clean, and the pool area looked small but nice. The mini mart doesn't have much, so be aware of that. Stores and restaurants are close by, and the rates are reasonable. We are really glad to be able to add this park to our options in that area as we camp in this area often due to dog shows. Aside from the space size and the road noise I have zero complaints and think it's a very decent little RV park! read more

This place is like a large car park, the tent spaces are very small and stuck right at the back, furthest from the only bathroom block. Apart from the expected VERY loud city noises (train, trucks, planes) the site is between two race ways and although they were not being used for an event, we were woken at 7am by music playing. Noisy gutter cleaner came round spayed the contents of the gutter all over my car! We had booked 3 nights but only stayed 1. No refunds. Positives - very clean bathrooms, pool and hot tub. My boyfriend and I are semi- fulltimers and we decided to check out Pomona Fairplex KOA. We loved it! We knew our purpose and that was to be closer to the L.A. County Fair. Which was a hop, skip and a jump away. The KOA was more than I expected from an inner city RV style park "Kampground". Yes there are a lot of fulltimers but who cares. They are friendly and their sites were well kept along with the whole campgrounds. The office staff are friendly and very helpful. Our site had great shade it was quiet at night. I stayed the night at the KOA Fairplex in Pomona, CA on 9/13/2015. I've stayed there many times before. In fact, I've stayed there during the L.A. County Fair for at least the last five years. Biggest plus - it's walking distance to the fair from your campsite. Biggest minus - it cost me $62.17 for the night (even with $6.28 off for my KOA card). We stayed at Pomona KOA during the LA County Fair. We were charged an extra $71.78 when our BofA bill arrived. I immediately called to ask why, and was told that we were charged an extra day because we left late. I explained that we left right on time, but the rude lady only said that she would have the manager call. When I asked when that would be, I was told that he would call whenever. Of course he never called. This is their word against ours, but I would only say to anyone who was thinking of staying there, be sure you CHECK OUT at the office before you leave and get something in writing. We came in for an overnight to break up our Palm Desert destination. The office was closed as it was Christmas day. There were open spaces available at the front. After 3 tries we found a spot our 36 ft. 5th wheel would fit in. The first two short. The second we couldn't get into because the full-timers awning was in the way and we didn't want to tear into our rig. The 3rd worked even though our side was over the patio the next site full-timer had constructed. Easy on and off access but they need to deal with the full-timers taking more than they pay for. Didn't use the bathrooom so can't comment on them. read more

Stayed there for a week Super tight spots. Had a sprinkler that came on every night At 2 am and sprayed on my trailer for over 30 mins. Complained the first night, Not fixed. Complained the second night. not fixed. Gave up after the 3rd compliant. Also have a lot of RV show employees staying there that liked to party into the late hours. My rig and truck are 55 feet long. No place to park if friends wanted to visit. They had a large area blocked off that looked like parking spots but no access. What a waste of space. Will I stay there again? Probably not. Would love to see the RV show again but it seems the good spots have been reserved for the RV show employees. read more

This place is not what I thought it was. They said they had movies in the park on the weekends and offered activities for kids but all they had was the pool. Thank goodness for the pool!!! The mini Mart they show pictures of on their website was not at like what they actually have. The store was empty not because they sold out but because they are no longer carrying milk,eggs, basically anything!! Most staff was friendly but not all. I've been to a few other KOA locations and they are exactly as you see on the website but not this one. I'll never go back to this location. Very dissatisfied customer!!!! read more

Some of the spots are a tight fit and the lots are close to one another but we have a 40ft 5th wheel and didn't have a problem getting ours in our lot at night ! Clean bathrooms& laundry room ! My kids wouldn't get in the pool because it was so crowded. The game room only had 2 video games. The others were broken. There were two board games and some books in there, too. The TV was in there- but it was off and the lights were all off- so I'm not sure if it worked. The sights are really small (narrow) and hard to drive in and out of in a 31 ft RV. Just ok.
