Omg ok let me organize my thoughts because this brunch experience blew my mind!!!…read more I live fairly close to two silos, and I always really enjoy my time there. I have been there several times before they started expanding and I remember seeing the signs go up and the excitement of what would come next. Fast forward several months maybe even a year and my friend suggested we go to brunch at this new spot called proof kitchen. It didn't occur to me until yelping that this was one of the new additions to the two silos (villagio group) kingdom! The second I found out that I would get the chance to finally try out this spot. Any other options that were on the table were immediately thrown out and we decided to go here. The menu looked really impressive and let me tell you the menu itself was not nearly as impressive as what was presented to us when we ordered, and our food arrived. It was really hard to pick an option... I was really impressed because quite a few of the options I've never even heard of before or thought of. For example, the crab Rangoon dip was so great. Just the right amount of sweetness and a bunch of lump crab meat. I love how they want above and beyond, even just with the wonton chips. The server was incredible and he brought over more chips for us without us even asking, and I don't recall any additional surcharge. We were here to celebrate my girlfriend's upcoming wedding and got to open her save the dates! The brunch was perfect. The grill time was lovely and the food was spectacular. The beverages were really delicious too! My friend ordered a flatbread that came with eggs. My other friend ordered the pancake with the berries that I almost ordered. When her pancake came out, we were all absolutely floored at the presentation! Firstly, the pancake was extremely thin, full of flavor and covered in delicious fresh berries. It took up the whole plate!! fortunately, I didn't also order that because I ended up being able to eat several bites of it to help my friend finish her meal. Portion sizes are very generous!! which we love in this economy... we also ordered the fry trio, which was so elevated in the most simple and flavorful way you absolutely must order this. I ended up just ordering the side of mac & cheese that was really gooey and flavorful which to me are the two main components of a good mac & cheese. Overall, we all agreed that we must come back. The food was lovely service was truly top-notch and the restaurant itself was beautiful New and modern. It was cool to be able to walk through and then also check out the distillery next-door and the merch!

We…read morewere seated promptly and attended to quickly, and our server, possibly Tracy, did a great job. The dining room felt clean and modern, with a nice table setup, a bar, soft lighting, and low music that made the evening enjoyable. My wife ordered the bulgogi ramen, and I had the salmon poke bowl. Both tasted good, but the portions were much smaller than expected for the $17 to $18 price range. I did notice afterward that these items are listed as "light fare," so smaller portions may be intentional. Still, for dinner, they felt closer to side-dish portions than a satisfying meal. The ramen noodles also had more of an instant-style texture, which did not match the fresh-made impression. Overall, great service and decent food, but I would order more carefully next time and not expect the light fare items to be full dinner portions.

The staff was friendly front to back, hostess, waitress, bar tender- friendly and knew the menu and had solid recommendations and knowledge of the menu. The food was great, we had rangoons for an appetizer, followed by their famous General Tso's and the Mongolian Combination, all delicious! Highly recommend this place if you're in the area! My takeout was ready in timely fashion, and there was definitely some quality there. My kung pao tofu was a little sweet as the dish normally is, but also amply spicy as I requested and came with plenty of peanuts, extra-crispy tofu, and a few other vegetables. Lo mein was a fairly straightforward soy-garlic affair, though I must say I appreciated the option to add some tofu to that as well. My spring rolls came sauceless and were fairly basic and cabbage-y, but a decent way to round out a meal. I appreciated their thorough vegetarian labeling; of course some things were not available to me that I wish they would make vegetarian, but the most important thing is being able to make informed decisions. I skipped the ma po tofu this time, but they claim it offers genuine numbing sensations and they did enough to convince me that it might be worth coming back to try.

I had the hand grenade and it tasted like New Orleans. Could've been a little stronger. The ambiance of the restaurant is small but comfortable. The bar was inviting. Each dish was full of flavor. My Dad demolished the potatoes and greens. The crawfish was tender and my brother thought the grits were thick enough to be perfect. I would recommend this to anyone in the area! Wasn't cafe du monde beignets, more like donuts. Same with the frosted banana bread pudding dessert- not authentic but good and sweet. Very limited parking; however there is a parking lot two blocks away. Also, steer clear of first Fridays (per the waitress) it gets really crowded and they shut down the street.

Omg so many thoughts on this experience…read more I'm so glad i didn't immediately know it was a restaurant located in a hotel. This prob would have deterred me, even a little bit. The Apple map directions here confused me a little due to this, but parking was really plentiful so that's a huge plus! I went on a Sunday morning and lo and behold there was a hole farmers market or pop up set up all through haymarket! Busy weekend for a brunch but haymarket is SUCH a cute little vibe and town with so many hidden gems, like this one!! Literally every single item I saw waiters bring out from the kitchen looked so scrumptious, every person around us immediately began digging in and enjoying their meals...and honestly, no crumbs were left behind pretty much every time. We started ordering a yummy cocktail. I was really in the mood for the Paloma with grapefruit juice but sadly they were out of grapefruit juice fortunately, they had plenty cocktails available that were not explicitly on the menu! I ended up having a delicious espresso martini, prepared, right and honestly, I would have had another!! Not too sweet. Not creamy. And with 3 beans. Impeccable no notes. I ordered the red House breakfast. Man those home potatoes were so delicious....they clearly cooked them seasoned deliciously and then flash fried, so crunchy!!!! Amazing. I found that their execution on their meals was really impressive. My sunny side up eggs were cooked perfectly and paired so yummy with the toast. The bacon had delicious flavor too. I ordered a biscuit because I had heard that their biscuits were really yummy but unfortunately they did not have their bacon biscuit so it was just a classic biscuit. It was good, certainly dense and clearly homemade. My girlfriend got the poutine. Looked so delicious and was really enjoyed! The gravy was thick and flavorful! We sat down and enjoyed plenty of conversation and a really nice environment. Nobody rushed us, service was just the right amount of attentive without interrupting conversation constantly, and the floor to ceiling windows let in beautiful natural light and views of the town. It was the perfect brunch spot for a low-key, but delicious meal. Just a hair out of the way without being too far. I came out with a really good friend of mine to celebrate my one year wedding anniversary with her and it was the perfect possible location. Shout out to the staff for being so welcoming and kind, and even taking a picture of us when we asked to commemorate the occasion. I'm sure they are used to people walking in to the hotel lobby looking as confused as I was looking for red House Tavern.

I had no idea that they offered a small bowl of complementary ceviche, which is actually really good. Like, so good, that I'm going to have to go back just to get that. The queso was also good. It was the standard white queso that I commonly associate with the Midwest because for the longest I couldn't get it on the East Coast, but it's not queso fundido. They offer Coke from a fountain, which is a huge plus. And the salsa was really good. The chips and salsa were free, so they absolutely get bonus points for that. It was a random Saturday evening when I came in, and they were setting up for what looked like live music and a fun night. The service was really good and parking was easy since it's in a plaza.
