    Maple Apple Matcha

Very unique coffee shop + amazing atmosphere! I was very impressed with this coffee shop. The atmosphere is perfect for fall, very gothy but still a modern feel. It is very huge and spacious, plenty of seating and wi-fi / outlets for those doing remote work. It is a good quiet place for those looking for somewhere to sit a few hours to get some work done. They have a very extensive menu of fall drinks, and honestly the matcha was a 10/10. It seems pretty high quality and not overly watery or milky like some places have it. Prices are a little on the higher end but it doesn't feel like a waste of money. Service was good also workers seem very nice and friendly. Will definitely be returning!

Pull up a chair, a great book and a cup of coffee and relax... you deserve it..

Absolutely 5/5 recommend KnuckleBones. I've been here twice now at each time it's been more than just a great cup of coffee; it's been an experience. Customer Service is top tier each time. Ambiance is alluring and esthetically pleasing. I love the dark woods, the attention to detail and the instantaneous relaxing feeling upon entry. Grab a good book or your favorite person and come enjoy a couple hours here. You will put it on your monthly "Self Care" list as I have.

Red velvet latte!! Speakeasy type bar for coffee in the morning and drinks at night. Very nice and a cool place to check out for sure

This coffee shop transports you to another place, like San Francisco, California. A very pleasant and beautiful environment. The employee who served us was very kind. I asked for a Cortado I liked it so much that I asked for another to take away. My husband ordered a cappuccino, and my husband really liked it. Definitely if we go back to Mobile I will go to that coffee shop

This is like being transported to another world. Incredible drinks and what a fun vibe. Go try it for sure. Not a place you'd expect to see kids playing though so keep that in mind. Very chill.

Found this coffee shop while downtown and it is the best. I have a "usual" coffee shop which is more convenient but when I have extra time (weekends) and want something different this it. Went and had a Banana Foster Latte and son had a hot chocolate. Both were awesome both in taste and presentation. The staff is friendly and helpful. The place is decorated nice and gives me a vibe of an old cigar smoking establishment. I will be back again and again.

This was one of their special lattes with chamomile and orange!

Such a cool place and concept! I love unique coffee shops with uniquely crafted drinks so I will be back for sure! Staff were very kind!

Very cool vibe! Not your ordinary coffee drinks and the pastries and sandwiches were amazing. Leah was such a bright spot in our passing through of Mobile. Her smile and service was extraordinary!

Stopped at this unique coffee shop in Mobile after visiting the USS Alabama. It has a unique menu and atmosphere, a very loungey and relaxing atmosphere. We had a banna coconut latte and a toasted marshmallow latte. The pastries were amazing.

My favorite thing to do is find local coffee places and then make my husband stop at them every vacation and this place is definitely added to the list. There is only one street parking that I saw and the ambiance is more bar like than coffee shop with the decor and dim lights. It's absolutely beautiful. There's also seating outside. Service was quick but the counter is pretty crowded bc of the bar set up. I wish I could've gotten 5 drinks because their specialty menu is so extensive and unique I wanted to try them all. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was my pastry did not seem fresh at all and for the price point, I don't want a tough, soggy danish.

A delicious Cortado under the fabulous neon ambiance

For instance, advised that my daughter was shy when the kid hesitated to order one day, the barista brightened up even more and put the girl at ease. Whether their coffee is good or not is completely subjective. I think it's good overall, but it might not be my first choice in town. But it's made with care, and as mentioned, roasted in house. Its popularity speaks to its quality. They also have a very good selection of pastries and other goodies to accompany your coffee, including a Mobile institution--cheesecake from a local company called Cotton Blues. The only gripe I have about Carpe Diem is their seating setup. There simply isn't enough of it. That said, I don't know how they could use the space more efficiently, since the cafe is small as it is. I prefer more private seating, which in other coffee houses I've been to has been accomplished with the judicious use of plants or high-backed chairs. The biggest component of the crowded seating is due to students from Springhill College across the street. Today, for instance, my husband and I were unable to find any seating at all. Even on the days when we can find seating, being entirely surrounded by people working quietly on their laptops feels awkward and lends a library-like feel to the atmosphere. It feels rude to have a conversation at a regular level. I feel like I'm intruding. I don't know how a coffee shop should handle this conundrum, as it's really not good business practice to limit customers' time while there, or to turn away clientele, even in an attempt to please all of their customers. There is already a back room which seems to be an unofficial space dedicated to students, but the overflow still takes up much of the cafe. That said, I enjoy Carpe Diem and going there is a nice little treat. I would definitely recommend it.

The morning glory (I think that's the name) muffin was excellent chock full of nuts, spices, raisins and a homemade taste like carrot cake. They had a selection of chocolate as well.
