Three Dots and a Dash
Carlos R.

5 stars after a single visit? Obviously this will be a work in progress requiring a lot more research. This review is based solely on the quality of the rum cocktails. This place is like an oasis of rum in a desert of mediocre booze. Where else outside of good Tiki bars could I get a "Three Dots and a Dash"? Or, a Painkiller properly made with Pusser's rum? A daiquiri that isn't a strawberry slushie but an actual classic daiquiri? Why I now know a place, not any place, but Know Place

Found the bar online and decided to take a ride to check it out. It's a cute bar! Had a blast while there. Met one great bartender, Lark! Great conversation and drinks were awesome! Lark makes a great Bloody Mary and turned us on to the "Flintstone"! We will make a stop here the next time we are in the area!

They have an outdoor patio as well, but it was too cold to sit outside. There is a small four seat bar inside. I ordered the steak fajitas. I really think they forgot about our order because we sat there for about 40 minutes before we got our food. Even the server came to our table and realized our food wasn't out yet so she had to check on it. By the time I got the fajitas, the meat was overly cooked. The vegetables had shriveled up, and the meat had gone a bit dry. Thank goodness for salsa! We also had a shrimp taco, but it was sad that the tortilla crumbled when we picked it up. That Ahi tuna tostadas were drenched in soy sauce, so that too, fell apart. It was way too salty to eat. I will say that their spicy salsa is pretty good out of the three as well as their chip salsa. Our server was pleasant. She tried to do the best she can.

Service was friendly. We tried the strawberry and mango margaritas, the steak enchiladas and ahi tuna tostada, and for dessert the arroz con leche and (because they ran out of churro donuts) vanilla ice cream. Total for two was $40. What a deal. But you get what you pay for. Drinks weren't super strong and the flavors were not as authentic. The rice and beans with the enchilada could use some improvement. And the ice cream was much sweeter than the arroz. Overall, still enjoyable though for a night out, especially for the price.

We were seated quickly and served waters right away. My husband ordered the fish and chips, while I went with the jalapeño chicken sandwich. The sandwich came with a grilled chicken breast, lettuce, tomato, pepper jack cheese, crispy fried onions, and jalapeño dressing on grilled ciabatta bread. I also upgraded my fries to their Bleu fries (topped with bleu cheese crumbles and bleu cheese dressing). The fries were definitely a highlight--served hot, crispy, and perfectly paired with the bleu cheese. My husband was really impressed with the fish and chips, which he hadn't tried here before. The fish was beer-battered and fried, served with fries and coleslaw. He especially liked the coleslaw, noting that it tasted fresh with great flavor and wasn't overly coated in mayo. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and the experience. Looking forward to coming back again soon.

My husband ordered Fish N Chips - fish was extremely greasy. Our server was superb, kind, friendly, fast, 2 minute follow up and keeps our drinks filled and all the clutter removed throughout the dinner. If the food were nearly as appetizing as the servers work ethic I may consider returning. Ambiance was lovely.

They just hang with their friends who come to the bar and drink with them on the job. My lady asked me to take her there this past Saturday. Against my better judgement I took her. My you I'm from out of town n they always act like my id is fake. When we got there this time the bouncer told me I owed money. I was dumbfounded because I've never walked out on a tab in my life. So I went in looking for an explanation because I knew it had to be a mistake. I asked if they could tell me what dates this occurred on n they said "Thursday", which was the last time I was there. But on Thursday we didn't even buy a drink because there was no music playing when we walked in n I got a horrible feeling about being in there. So we left without getting anything. When I explained that to the manager, he said "well it was before Thursday then" I insisted on them showing me a record of this and he basically told me that I'm not getting my id back until I pay. I honestly feared for one and my fiancées safety in this moment. It felt like all there lil friends in the bar were ready to jump me if I protested further. I WAS ROBBED BY THIS ESTABLISHMENT. My theory is, their bartender was giving away free drinks the night we walked in. They saw we didn't buy any drinks on their record and they blamed a short tab on me. They probably thought someone from Jersey would never come back so the bartender could get away with blaming the black guy from out of town. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BAR! Especially if you're from out of town. The bar called Stooges around the corner is a much better vibe. They are super welcoming and I've never gotten any weird vibes from their staff.

We were there for about four hours.... everybody left except me and my friend both of us females. As the night went on however, the locals came in. We had some big broad, flipping us off across the way while we were just sitting at the bar, and it got way worse. The two gentlemen sitting next to us were there from work and it was their first time as well. They were pipe fitters and they were staying at adjacent hotel, they were going to give us a ride home. For no reason at all about 10 Cowboys hats came our direction and threatened all four of us. We were backed up against the wall as they all stood up and walked over our direction. My friend and I got up and walked around, my friend kept saying this is horrible. We didn't do anything wrong. We keep asking the bartender what's going on why is this happening ??? My friend asked some guy are you just gonna let these guys jump us? The bartender said she was shutting it down told us that we needed to go around and get out of here from the back.. we called 911,four times!!! and no one showed up. We feared for our lives, fortunately one of the locals told us to sit by him and not move and assisted in getting a stranger to drive us all the way back to our hotel. We were so worried about the other two men who did absolutely nothing and were getting punked by the local hillbillies. We have no idea whatever happened to the two guys. We ended up going to their hotel and explaining in case they didn't show up from work the next day. I highly recommend that no one attends this bar unless you live in that neighborhood and know everybody; it's clear Lodi people should be NOT be recommending it. It's a safety concern at this point. And this probably won't be the last time.

We came for Sunday lunch with family and were seated right away. Our waiter was great -- he checked in on us regularly and even refilled our drinks without us having to ask, which was a nice touch. I ordered the Greek salad with added salmon (+$8) and it was a great choice. The portion was generous and came with a slice of focaccia. The salad had mixed greens, olives, artichokes, feta, and red onion with a really tasty balsamic vinaigrette. Our table also ordered a cheese pizza, Caesar salad wrap, and the chicken pot pie. I had a bite of the pot pie and it was incredible -- definitely ordering that next time. Bonus: they offer a free wine tasting with the purchase of a meal, which is a fun extra.
