I've been to this bar maybe 5 times. I never had a good feeling in there. The bartenders do not serve you unless they know you. They just hang with their friends who come to the bar and drink with them on the job. My lady asked me to take her there this past Saturday. Against my better judgement I took her. My you I'm from out of town n they always act like my id is fake. When we got there this time the bouncer told me I owed money. I was dumbfounded because I've never walked out on a tab in my life. So I went in looking for an explanation because I knew it had to be a mistake. I asked if they could tell me what dates this occurred on n they said "Thursday", which was the last time I was there. But on Thursday we didn't even buy a drink because there was no music playing when we walked in n I got a horrible feeling about being in there. So we left without getting anything. When I explained that to the manager, he said "well it was before Thursday then" I insisted on them showing me a record of this and he basically told me that I'm not getting my id back until I pay. I honestly feared for one and my fiancées safety in this moment. It felt like all there lil friends in the bar were ready to jump me if I protested further. I WAS ROBBED BY THIS ESTABLISHMENT. My theory is, their bartender was giving away free drinks the night we walked in. They saw we didn't buy any drinks on their record and they blamed a short tab on me. They probably thought someone from Jersey would never come back so the bartender could get away with blaming the black guy from out of town. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BAR! Especially if you're from out of town. The bar called Stooges around the corner is a much better vibe. They are super welcoming and I've never gotten any weird vibes from their staff. read more

Drama, drama, drama. Came in to relax for half an hour before dinner with clients. Ordered simple drink. Bartender turns up music way to high for venue, then starts screaming at high shrill pitch with another female customer to hear each other because music is too loud. I am pretty sure she was drunk, could not even remember my previous drink from 15 minutes prior. Was engaging in conversation that would not be considered inappropriate in a bar but screaming it made it inappropriate. Owners should definitely have someone monitor her behavior. I was at Garry's Lounge the evening of August 25th, after the last farmer's market of the season for Lodi in 2022. Initially, I had a good time there after the market closed, but shortly after midnight, not late for civilized people, there was a fight by the pool tables inside this establishment. I didn't think much of it. I had some bags from the Lodi farmer's market, and I kept them with me inside the place and it was fine. But then, as I was leaving, there was an actual drive-by shooting, apparently related to a beef from inside the bar. I banged on the door, begging them to let me back inside to save my life, and they said, "Sorry, we're closed." But their hours said they were open until 2:00 am. and this was jus midnight. They left me outside in a gunfight while they were supposed to be open. This has to be the most callous, inhuman, despicable group of human beings staffing this place to leave someone who had spent hours there and tipped very well, outside their doors as people were being shot in the streets. I cannot imagine a more abject failure of basic humanity, much less customer service, from any establishment. This place should be shut down and never allowed to operate again. Anyone who was there on the evening of August 25th-26th should consider legal action against this horrible, dangerous, and uncaring blight on the city of Lodi. You can spend hours hanging out there and then suddenly find yourself in mortal danger, and their idiotic staff will lock you out and tell you "good luck." I have never experienced a worse, more unsafe bar than this one. You take your life into your own hands if you go there, and even if you are friendly with the staff, they will lock you outside to die while bullets fly. This is the worst, most dangerous bar in the entire country. Their staff just locked me outside an hour and a half before they were supposed to close and left me outside to die. read more

I just went to Gary's, brought a party of 5, spent $200 dollars, then 3 people asked for water and they kicked us out No one was drunk, inebriated or causing problems. Aw, yes....Garry's Lounge. Garry's is pretty much what a Lodi bar should be- a comfy dive with cheap drinks, great jukebox, and a pool table. The drinks aren't the stiffest around, but for the price they do the job. A good age mix populate the place too. I often run into someone I haven't seen in forever there, which is pretty cool. I considered giving the places 5 stars simply for having NATURAL LIGHT ON TAP. HAHA! I've never seen that before. Worst service Ive ever experienced. Last night was busy and the bartenders have no clue how to operate in a busy environment. I was trying to get the bartender's attention for at 30 minutes to order a drink. I saw other people along the bar doing the same. The bartenders would just randomly select someone to take their order and it was usually someone who just walked up. Yes, I am giving this bar only 2 stars. I've been here several times. It seems like each time, my experiences are less and less favorable. So, last night I took my friend from Reno out to some "Lodi" bars. I thought Garry's would be a fun place to start. I was completely wrong. The bartender was having a rough night, I will give her that. However, that's not my problem. We ordered our drinks. My friend got a beer & I got the worse mix drink I have ever tasted. It took a long time for the draft beer to be poured & I could see the bartender kind of hiding the flow of the beer, which I thought was weird, but whatever. My friend drank her flat beer & I tried to drink my mixed drink but it was just gross. When I told the bartender that my drink was too sweet, she told me that I ordered a sweet drink so what did I expect. I laughed it off but I thought it was completely rude. When my friend ordered her second beer. This is when the bartender says that her CO2 was out & she did not know how to change it. So, there was no beer. She didn't offer my friend anything else in place of draft beer. So, we left & ventured out to some other "Lodi" bars & had a better experience. read more

Garry's is a classic. One of Lodi's originals! Dark and musky on the inside, equipped with a jukebox, a couple of pool tables and a few friendly bartenders. Garry's used to be a place that only old men would frequent. Those days are long gone. Garry's attracts a good mix of young and old. Good little bar with cheap drinks and friendly people. They have an Internet Jukebox which is a blast because you hear all styles of music throughout the night. The decor is very bland and a bit dated, but it is always clean. The older regulars come in during the day and stay until about 8:30. Never been here before and my boyfriend brought me here. Only to be Harassed by Security with a man bun. It's not ok when you see someone walk in with there other half and your Security flirts!
