I don't know how this place has 3.5 stars. It's great. Food, service and ambience are the best in the area. Lauren makes this spot great. That's why it's packed. read more

What a great place! My first time going there and I can't wait to go back!! Ambiance: Great space. Very nice inside with a great mix of high and short tops. The bar is definitely a place I could hang out for an extended amount of time. The night I went they had a great jazz band playing (live music 7 days a week!) that enhanced the evening that much more. Food: Wow!! I just had the best burger I have had in a long time! I had a bite of my dining companion's pesto pasta and would definitely order that for myself. I saw a lot of the different apps at the bar, all looking great, but I think next time I need to try the pizza as I saw/smelled several of them as they passed my table. I would literally eat this food sitting in a dumpster if that was my only option. Cocktails: Usually I group this in with food, but these are so good, it necessitated breaking it out into its own category. Good size glasses with more than generous pours. I'm not really somebody adventures on to the drink menu, but theirs is extensive and they all looked really tasty. A dining companion had a couple of them and concurred. Service: Hard to believe this beats the first three, but this is really where Knolls really excels. Matt did an excellent job waiting on our table always coming by every couple of minutes to make sure we didn't need anything and never let our drinks go empty. The most exceptional part is the proprietor, Lauren. From greeting people by their first name as they walk in, running food, being behind the bar pouring drinks, or just coming by every table to make sure the overall experience was as great as it should be, she was non-stop all night making sure everything was perfect for her customers. If you haven't been to knolls yet, do yourself a favor and go soon! read more

Normally, a pretty good place. Today they were understaffed and we waited but couldn't get service so we walked. Very disappointing. JohnF Laguna Niguel read more

Drove by Knolls last night after dining at a nearby restaurant. The restaurant was jam packed with people standing inside and outside at the entrance. Came back to check it out tonight. I had the salmon salad and that was very good. Salmon was done perfectly. Not under nor overcooked and did not taste fishy at all. Great job, Knolls kitchen! My husband had the grilled chicken sandwich with goat cheese , bacon, and avocado on ciabatta bread with sweet potato fries and he said that was also very good. We had Samantha as our server. Service was decent. They all appeared to be working really hard, especially the "boys". They were busy and moved around very fast. Love that music. The band was great. Good to see diners enjoying themselves and many were dancing on the dance floor. read more

We were there late Sunday night. Had the Boom Boom Shrimp and Hawaiian Ahi Tower. They were fantastic. We were in the corner and the music was not too loud. Good wines and beers. Knolls has become such a fun little escape from my everyday routine. Whether I stroll in at 2pm after pickleball or 6pm on a weekend night, the vibe is always consistent! Great music, amazing drinks, delicious sea bass, and epic service. The live bands are always so much fun, but what really makes Knolls special is the owner, Lauren. She is incredibly personable, genuinely sweet, and makes everyone who walks through the door feel right at home. It's quickly become one of my favorite local spots. read more

Knolls - Girls night @ Knolls ~ Family style - Lounges Near Me - Laguna Niguel, California

I was here for my first time as part of a large group. Workers did a great job of attending to us. I had a burger with Kobe beeg, fried egg, grilled peppers, and parm fries. While the burger was huge, the patty was especially dry withoutmuch flavor. I also wished that the fried egg was runny, but it wasn't at all. The garlic fries were pretty good, though. read more

Party of 4, Friday night, no reservations and, as expected, a wait. But it wasn't too long and, after a reasonable wait, we were seated. The band was playing and the place was full of seemingly very happy people, so conversation was a challenge. Service was polite and reasonably prompt, given the full house. The food was better than I expected. Quite good , in my opinion. My Herb Lime Chicken, sauteed in a citrus lime herb sauce was tender and juicy. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes and perfectly steamed vegetables. My three companions raved about how good their meals were. Good selection of draft beers, which pleased me. read more

Went here for my birthday dinner with 6 people to see our fave band we follow. Its was too busy for the amount of staff. The crowd was mostly in their late60s-70s We were the youngest there. Im in my 50s. The food was palatable but the service was the worst. The owner was alerted but didnt really care. The server with the braids was in the weeds and felt like explaining how many tables she had was OUR fault. Inexperienced and rude. Unacceptable behavior. Im in the business so give a lot of grace when high volume, not with an attitude she had. Repeatedly "forgot" our drink orders and we had to let manager know the THIRD time we asked for second drink orders. No one in our party will be returning. No matter who is playing. They are way understaffed and there are much better options with good service to spend our money. read more

Excellent food, good service and wonderful music. Fun place to spend the evening with food, wine and entertainment. We plan to return often

Wow! It's been months since I've been to knolls and finding so many nice bartenders that say hello and even smile some. I heard Gabby was on probation?? When will Lauren ever learn That Gabby is ruining her Resturant. Meanest bartender ever!!! Read many reviews wondering if they are paying for the compliments. Food is good I can say that. Bands all the time but way too loud in small place so you cant talk to anyone. Having more fun going to San Juan golf, salt creek grill and many other places with same bands. Heard it was dead there last Thursday and Friday night seems only crowded now when better band plays. This is not phoney review as I've also seen put up here when they were real people I actually seen around or know. You've lost quite a few people that went there. I read a review it was a Hidden gem but I'm not romancing the stone. read more

Great bar and restaurant tucked away in a shopping center in Laguna Niguel. They have live music on weekends and the bands that I've heard are really good. Sound system is on point. I didn't get the chance to eat as I was on a liquid diet, but the plates that came out looked tasty. Will have to come back and try it out. Bartenders and servers are friendly but prepare to wait a little for your drink if you come for a band as it's gets packed! read more

This is the most amazing place in Laguna niguel with live music every single night and Gaby is the best bartender. She is on top of all your needs and remembers your order. I absolutely love coming here and enjoying the live music and it is pet friendly so I bring my baby Beanie who is a Frenchie and they bring her water in a bowl so do not hesitate to come out here read more

The food was delicious! The ambiance is great they also have live music at 2pm on a Sunday! We went there on Sunday for lunch and we went there on a Friday for lunch to celebrate our friend's birthday! The service was ok, I think they need to hire more people for lunch time as there was only one that was working especially there was a lot of people and it was also hard to get something you will need as we don't see them often unless they decide to come out of the kitchen... overall the food was delish and they were also very friendly! read more

We've been coming to Knolls almost every Wednesday for about a year now and love it! The double whammy of Wine Wednesday and Jazz Wednesday makes for a wonderful mid-week wind down after work. We've been on weekends too and it's equally fun. The ambiance is great. The food is great and it's a pretty big menu so there's something for everyone. And the entertainment (7 nights a week I think?) is always amazing. And Gabby the bartender makes it super fun! read more

Fred at the bar was great! i loved my moscow mule & espresso martini. i had the pastrami sandwich & was surprised it didn't come w thousand island but Fred suggested it with honey mustard & it was great! the pastrami was sliced thin & was good quality. i would have preferred a creamy coleslaw but i still enjoyed the vinegar-based slaw it came with. i definitely liked the bread it came on which was was toasted yet still very soft. thjs place definitely attracts an older crowd & there's nothing wrong w that. it's just that kind of place. the decor was cute & i gather they have live music some nights, it makes me wonder what the vibe is like then. i will be back for the great service from Fred & to try something else on the menu! read more

Worked late on a Wednesday and ordered the Filet Mignon dinner from Knolls Restaurant in Laguna Niguel for my husband and I -- and WOW, it was Amazing! The filet was cooked perfectly with just the right juicy flavor. The asparagus was perfect, and the mashed potatoes with mushroom gravy were absolutely delicious.
