Huge Selection of the World Finest Yarns

Great selection of yarn! Helen - the owner - is a very, very nice lady! She is very helpful and she is great at teaching! I have now made few projects with her help! I like the place so much, that in my free time I go there and hang out with her and the other women that come there. She also gave a class to my 11-year old son. He loved it as well, but as it turns out is too cool for knitting...

The bag of goodies Helen helped me with: needles, yarn and a Beginners guide to knitting with a notebook to keep track!

Very good sweater repair. She was was able to save my favorite cashmere sweater that was damaged from moth. Much cheaper than a new one.

Was there shopping for a birthday present for an artist friend and know absolute diddly squat about paint and that is when a hero with braids appeared to save the day. I never caught her name but she made quite the impression on this experience and if I got her name I'd shout her BIG TIME because I wouldn't have got everything I needed if it wasn't for her assistance...TOP TIER customer service. Otherwise, store was organized and priced right; will be my go too art supply source moving forward.

Every brush here has more personality than most people on Melrose…read more In a city where every "artist" now thinks Procreate on an iPad counts as a medium, Blick Art Materials is one of the last true temples of real creation. Walk in here and you can smell the ambition, acrylic, and caffeine. It's like stepping into a time capsule where brushes still matter, ink still stains, and creativity doesn't come with a subscription fee. The value here and the prices were super reasonable. I came here with my draftsman, a guy who still draws by hand -- a dying breed in a world that runs on Ctrl+Z. Watching him walk these aisles was like watching a monk in a cathedral. Every shelf, every pen, every tube of paint is curated chaos. And the best part? The staff actually care. They know the difference between gouache and watercolor -- and they don't judge you for mispronouncing it. Friendly service, clean restrooms (a small miracle in Los Angeles), and a selection so deep it could inspire Picasso's ghost to start over. From sketchbooks to sculpting tools, markers to mat cutters, they've got everything you need to make something real -- or at least look like you tried. Blick's been around since 1911, and this Beverly Blvd location has kept L.A.'s art scene supplied through every phase -- from punk flyers to NFT hangovers. It's an institution, and it deserves to stay that way. Blick Art Materials is a love letter to real art in a copy-paste world. The service is friendly, the aisles are inspiring, and the supplies are top-notch. If you make anything with your hands, your heart, or even just a stubborn sense of nostalgia -- support this place. Because when shops like this vanish, so does a little bit of the soul of Los Angeles. Support this place -- or someday the only "art supplies" left will be ring lights. Blick is where real artists shop while influencers pretend to paint.

Rimmon's is a very unique shopping experience in that it is not a traditional retail store -- they don't have regular, open/closed at set hours business structure, which is why you must call first. In today's world, a store that is a family run one of a kind gem is like a unicorn. In this case, a magical fabric unicorn for all who love beautiful materials. Do not come here expecting mass produced pillow forms, upholstery or run of the mill kid costume fabric. Come here because you want something special at a price that won't give you a heart attack. Be prepared to hunt for treasures, and if you see something you love, BUY it, because most likely if you don't, someone else will. The family that owns and operates Rimmons are lovely. I read the two negative reviews, and to me, I perceived the reviewers as the problem. Too many people are used to cookie cutter chain stores run by people that have no connection or care for the business. You will not find that here. Each time I go, I feel like I am being welcomed into an extension of their home, in a way, and feel fortunate indeed that such places still exist in the world.

They were very helpful and personable, providing jaw-dropping recommendations for the project I was working on. Note: make an appointment and be prepared to find treasures in boxes and under bolts. You are unlikely to find more than 5 yards of the same fabric so come expecting to find gems for smaller projects. I'm so delighted with the fabric Ron helped me find and will be returning as often as my budget will allow.

The vendor responded immediately indicating they would ship my hat once they received a merchandise shipment. I eventually received my order after about week and a half later. I was not satisfied with the order because the company name was also embroidered on the side of the cap which was not indicated on the description nor the picture provided on their website. I reached out several times via email (only option offered) and they have ignored all my inquiries about returning the item. Red flag I failed to notice is that their website doesn't have a return policy stated and only asks you to contact via email. I've decided to stop reaching out and cut my loss however I'm posting this review to make others aware of the poor customer service .
