In all my years of owning homes and rentals, I have dealt with so many HVAC companies. Some…read moreexperiences were "okay" while other companies were so awful I can't believe they are still in business. It was a revolving door of terrible companies that we hired over the past 8 years to fix our ducts and replace our HVAC system. After shelling out tens of thousands of dollars and still having a house that didn't cool properly (and was costing us $600-700/month in electric bills), we hired Fontana Brothers based on the amazing reviews. They came in, did an assessment of our system, and determined that the ducts were significantly undersized and the a/c returns needed to be relocated from floor-level to ceiling (to keep the returns from sucking up dirt and cooler air). Marcelo the duct master sketched out the entire ventilation/duct plan and replaced all of the ducts in our house to the larger (correct) size. The new ducts have a special antibacterial coating. He also relocated all of our returns. The project took a week, but they were incredibly thorough. They did such a good job that we decided to have them replace both of our current a/c units (Daikins) to Bosch units because our old units were going to be out of warranty in about 2 years and we were worried that the Daikin units would not last due to the strain they had been under with the old undersized ducts. Was it cheap? No. Was it worth it? Heck yeah! We are already noticing year-over-year cost reduction of about $200/month. And the house smells clean, cools down quickly and we don't need to keep the thermostat down anymore to cool the house - I can set it at 76/77 degrees during a hot summer day and the house still feels comfortable. Throughout the process, all of the Fontana crew members were incredibly friendly, professional, and kept me informed. Given the heat and the tight space, I wasn't surprised when there was a minor incident with the ceiling drywall - but Dan immediately let me know he would make it right and had a drywall company come out and fix it. Compare this to the last HVAC company I used who first replaced the wrong a/c unit (the older one that was working fine) and just said, "Oops, well it will cost another $10k to replace the one we were supposed to replace in the first place, and the one we did replace was old and should be replaced anyway." Then they did a crap job, didn't connect the drain pipe properly so that I came home to a huge puddle of water all over my garage floor and damaged garage ceiling drywall (which they promised to fix and then gave me the runaround - they never fixed it). When Marcelo removed the old ducts, I asked him about some things that the old company supposedly did - turns out they lied about installing the damper that was supposed to fix some of the airflow issues - it was nowhere to be found! I will NEVER use a we-do-everything-plumbing-ac-electric company like the one that starts with Corner and ends with Stone because all they want to do is make money - they don't care about the customer. I will ALWAYS use Fontana Brothers because they stand by their work and they do a damn good job. Plus they sent me a tin of cookies to thank me for being a customer! If you are looking for an HVAC company that is honest, transparent, does quality work at a fair price and provides exceptional customer service, you will not be disappointed if you choose Fontana Brothers!

I am requiring about about a good faith $200 deposit I made on June 5th for what I was told was needed to reschedule a repair. Well, another service person came on June 23rd to fix the issue. But, the new repairman stated no work was necessary, it was an error. I appreciate the honesty. He said it was up to his supervisor to put in refund. Now, I would like my $200 deposit back. I don't understand why I am not being contacted or refunded about this issue.

I called them and Ashley who works in the office st up an appointment for me right away, she was spectacular professional courteous and reassuring. Then Deatrick who is the Project Manager came out he was extremely professional thorough and explained everything from how long the new install would take, spoke to me about financing. Dearick is the man!!!! He knows his stuff inside and out!! And finally, a day later the 2 technicians came out, the job took a little longer that 5 and a half hours. The 2 technicians (Tyler and London) were outstanding. Courteous polite and most importantly they did an exceptional and outstanding job. If you need AC repair or a new installation like I did, Call 24/7 forget about all those other companies out there. These guys are the very best. Thanks very much to these 4 individuals. Even then, it took three separate inspections before the system passed because Hot2Cold failed to fill out the paperwork correctly and failed to do the job correctly. Now, it's two years later, and the system is not working. I called for a service call but was told that it would be over $250 because it was a weekend. I was sold a 10-year warranty for parts and labor, but now they tell me I must wait until Monday or pay a $250 fee because it's the weekend. I contacted the sales representative who sold us the system (James Thornsberry), but he had moved to Birmingham, AL. I am still waiting for a representative to contact me about getting the HVAC system serviced. The forecast is in the upper 90s today, and it's too hot in the house. We recently moved my mother-in-law into the house with us to care for her, and this heat could present medical issues with her. I am embarrassed that I was conned by Hot2Cold. Do yourselves a favor and DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

I've been a loyal customer of Momentum for years, but unfortunately, I must revise my 5-star review…read moreto a 1-star review due to questionable and unnecessary practices involving Freon charges. On one of my properties in St. Pete, the technician took pressure readings on a unit that was frozen--due to the tenants running it at 67 degrees in June. Later that day, the technician returned and "charged" the unit with Freon. However, during a follow-up inspection nearly two months later by a different technician, no leaks were found in the line set or coils, and the pressure readings were still normal. This was particularly troubling given that the unit, a Carrier system, was installed just 10 months prior with a full inspection. I initially chalked this incident up as an anomaly. But then it happened again. At another property in Tampa, I called for a simple condensate line flush, and once more, I was told the unit might "need" a Freon charge. This was absurd, as the unit had been functioning perfectly, holding temperature with no issues for months. When the rep called to discuss diagnostics, I made it explicitly clear that the conversation about Freon was premature and unnecessary. Yet, within minutes, they called back with a quote for a Freon charge. I agreed to discuss the matter, but at no point did I authorize the charge. Despite this, the company proceeded without my clear consent. Momentum was quick to provide recordings of subsequent calls to argue their case, yet suspiciously reluctant to share the initial call, where it was clear I did not approve any Freon charge. After years of entrusting Momentum with multiple properties, it's disheartening to see them resort to such deceptive practices. They are personable and persuasive over the phone, but it's clear they are taking advantage of their customers. I can no longer recommend Momentum, and I urge others to proceed with caution. ** UPDATE 3/24/2025** I strongly advise against doing business with Momentum. Recently, I discovered that they sent a fake invoice to a collections agency, which included duplicated charges that I never authorized. What makes this situation worse is that Momentum never contacted me directly about these additional charges, and instead, the next thing I knew, I was being contacted by a collections agency about an invoice that had already been paid. I have the original invoice that shows everything was paid in full, and yet this company still attempted to charge me again and escalate it to collections without any prior notice. I am now dealing with the repercussions of this error, and I have been forced to take legal action to resolve this situation. Momentum's lack of communication and disregard for accurate billing practices is unacceptable. I highly recommend that others avoid this company to prevent similar issues.
