For context, I had a pretty gnarly dental experience that kept me away for two years (for shame, I know. Don't judge me), so I had a lot of trepidation going back after so long and after such a terrible experience. From the moment I walked through the door and was greeted by the biggest, brightest smiles, I knew I was in the right place. This office exudes warmth, inclusivity, and care. I was immediately taken into the back (I pre-filled my forms, so no wait time at all), given a tour of the office, and was informed every single step of the way to help me set expectations. Not only was Dr. Santos extremely knowledgable but her and her team were also kind and informative - I knew what was going to happen, what was happening, and what next steps would be each step of the way. She was so rough scraping my teeth with the tools that she chipped my front teeth and then pulled out my gap filling saying "I didn't think it was your real tooth". She also tried to make the excuse because flossing the gap, It can come out. I floss my teeth two times a day, and my gap filling lasted over five years.. So she attempted to re fill the gap. Later that evening when I got home it was then I noticed my teeth had been chipped and she didn't fill the gap completely. She told me to come back I so she could "fix" it. She tried to say that my teeth that were chipped were the filling, but it was my tooth. She sloppily filled the gap. It was thick and looked cakey and also didn't match my teeth color exactly. Not even two weeks later, I was brushing and water flossing my teeth it came right out. Terrible careless work. I would never recommend this dentist. She does not do good quality work. Was looking for a dentist close by I guess this is not the place!! I can't believe the second time she filled my tooth it didn't last longer than two weeks.

I had the unfortunate pleasure of having an horrendous customer service experience with Chen &…read moreAssociates and particularly with Chennel Walters their Insurance Coordinator. I had an appointment scheduled for February 6th at 2025 at 8:20 in the morning. I woke up at 7:20am to find a text from Chen and Associates informing me that my appointment would need to be cancelled due to inclement weather causing icing. There was no serious storm just light rain in the forecast and it had been warm and mild the whole week. However, I did not think much of it and happily rescheduled for the following Monday. Unfortunately I developed an ear infection on Sunday and needed to make a urgent care visit for Monday morning. I informed Chen and Associates on Sunday at 4:00pm that I would need to cancel, significantly more notice then they gave me for my prior appointment, which they confirmed. On Thursday morning of that week I received a $50 dollar charge for a missed appointment. I was not pleased about this charge and demanded it be removed and inquired why there was no policy for a $50 credit for patients if Chen and Associates needs to cancel as that would only seem fair. They removed the charge and apologized which I would have been happy to leave it at. However Chennel Walters decided it was their mission to justify charging clients for missed appointments and not having a credit if Chen and Associates cancels. They eloquently, explained that the office had to control for "thoughtless" , they never asked me why I was canceling, cancellations from patients and that Chen and Associates would only cancel for a real reason like inclement weather which she likened to a medical emergency. She also explained that they would never try to overcharge "loyal" clients. I pointed out that the weather that day was not particularly inclement and their reason for cancelling may have also been thoughtless saying: "The inclement weather? It didn't even get below freezing temps at any point below Thursday morning and it was above freezing several hours before my appointment. In fact I'm fairly certain it was raining which Additionally it had been gorgeous all week leading up to the day. But I didn't see the need to assume the worst, I suggest the doctor do the same for people who need to "thoughtlessly" cancel appointments." Obviously left a sentence incomplete, I was at work while trying to respond to Chennel Walters lovely correspondence and made a mistake. However, I think anyone reading this could see that I was pointing out that the weather conditions made improbable justifying a cancellation on their end unlikely. Chennel snarkily informed me she couldn't respond to my statement because it was incomplete before then responding to the statement she said she couldn't respond to by saying that I didn't know the weather where all their staff lived. It was above freezing through the entire state on February 6th and had been in the high to mid 40s the entire week leading up to the appointment. Needless to say I will no longer be a patient at Chen and Associates despite being a "loyal" patient prior. I would highly recommend they use this as a learning moment for Chennel and reconsider if they are the kind of person who should be interacting with clients.

I have NOT had the experiences that most of these clients have encountered…read more Dr. Gordon, I wish I had the honor of meeting. I was a patient of Dr. Kelmenson. He's a crook and has always behaved uncomfortable/nervous in my company. The front desk doesn't greet. In fact, they are very nasty in my first encounter ... Had a whole dental plan mapped out with Dr. Kelmensen despite, the nasty encounter at the front desk. Despite, having to pay them $50 to reschedule my apt. due to having COVID!!! They charged $50 b/c I caught COVID within 24 hrs of my appointment. I truly believe they don't like or would like to prevent having African American clientele. And the $50 I paid out of pocket, and the over $1K, I had paid towards my dental plan, they also charged my insurance company. I caught them double charging. When I questioned charges, Dr. Kelmensen, rather than addressing the charges, he immediately dropped me as a patient. Very VERY strange behavior at that office. They should be investigated.

I had my wisdom teeth extracted in September 2025. The procedure itself went very well -- Dr. Kim…read morewas excellent and had one of the best bedside manners I've experienced. I felt comfortable throughout the process and was really happy with the care I received. Before the procedure, I was quoted my copay and paid the full amount upfront, totaling $640. About a month later, I received a bill for $2,340 for the same procedure, and none of the payment I had already made was reflected. After calling the billing department, I found out the issue was caused by an insurance filing error on their end. They submitted the claim only to my secondary insurance instead of processing it through my primary insurance first and then the secondary, as they were supposed to. I had already provided all of my insurance information before the procedure, but I provided it again and was told the issue would be corrected. Unfortunately, it has now been 8 months since the procedure and this still has not been resolved. I checked with my primary insurance and found out Aspen Dental finally submitted the claim to them in March 2026 -- six months after my procedure. However, they still have not submitted the claim to my secondary insurance as of today. I genuinely cannot think of any reasonable explanation for why it would take this many months to properly submit an insurance claim, especially when all information was provided in advance and again afterward upon request. At this point, it honestly feels like an attempt to push responsibility for a bill onto me that should have been processed correctly through insurance many months ago and after I had already paid my quoted portion upfront. While I truly appreciated Dr. Kim and the clinical care I received, the billing and insurance handling experience has been incredibly frustrating, stressful, and disappointing.

I immediately called my regular dentist of over 45 years. Unfortunately for me he is in a new practice and they don't take our insurance. He did see me however & I paid cash so I knew what I needed done to fix the tooth. I came home and started calling the dentist he recommended to confirm they accept my insurance. None did. I finally found White marsh dental & Dr. Kelmenson. I arrived at the office early to fill out any additional paperwork and was promptly greeted & checked in. I quickly went back to get X-rays done and then into a chair. The dentist reviewed the X-rays and said it could be fixed with a new filling but it will likely need a root canal since it is broke just at the gum line. I explained to Dr Kelmenson I don't do well with needles especially coming towards my face/mouth. He said I could get nitrous oxide to help relax me. I just had to pay out of pocket for the nitrous. Ok, I was fine with that. He put the mask on me and take a few deep breath's and he was able to get the novocaine injection done and move right into fixing my tooth. He explained everything he was doing and respected me being a medical professional so he could explain things in medical terms and I understand. Excellent bedside manner. I am definitely going back for my 6 month cleaning and as tough as it is to find a good dentist.... I have found 2 Dr Kelmenson here and my previous dentist. Overall I would recommend this practice4/5 I'm only taking a star off because it's hard to get an appointment. I am used to having a few Saturday hours but this office doesn't.

They wanted to continue to work on it and create a crown... okay even with insurance that's about $800. Since my daughter's teeth are too big for her mouth, and her wisdom tooth was coming in, I decided to have the tooth pulled and asked them for a referral. When we walked inside, it looked like we stepped back in time to the 70s... you know Back to the Future. But don't let the looks of this place fool you!! These people are really good. So we are there for the initial consult, and I asked the dentist (Female Indian Girl... yes she was HOT!!! and I was having problems concentrating on the topic at hand...LOL) about having the tooth pulled today. She said if I wanted general anesthesia for the tooth it would take about 2 - 4 weeks to set up the apt. I told her a local would be fine (what the heck, it's not my mouth...LOL. okay just kidding, they also offered Nitrous Oxide, ya know, Laughing Gas). In under 10 min, my daughter's offending tooth was a part of history. Prices: Reg Dentist: Visit: $0 (no copay) Crown/Root Canal: $800 Total $800 (still needs teeth pulled to make room for straightening, cosmetic cost not covered) Specialist Oral Surgeon: Copay to pull tooth $10 Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas): $125.00 Total $135.00 (extra space, free of charge) So back to stepping back into the 70's. This oral surgeon's office has not gone digital... X-rays are paper copy faxed, real X-rays films, light boards, & not a single computer to type notes on.
