Dr. Joseph worked an implant I'd been told had too little bone (he showed me exactly how much bone) and he saved me money referencing me back to my general dentist on another procedure rather than take the money and run. I am returning years later for a second opinion on a possible tooth replacement. While Dr. Joseph is clearly confident--with the skill to back it--he is also friendly, straightforward, and considerate of a patient's concerns. He is not cheap (or extravagant), but if I want a tough job done right, he's the guy.

This whole unfortunate encounter was caused by my spontaneous reaction when he jabbed me in the gum. I'm no whimp, but after him jabbed me in the gum I reacted by pulling my head away and saying; "Ouch, what the f@ck?" He asked me to leave and when I questioned the reason for his strange behavior he kept saying; "leave the practice" "I'm calling the police". I've dealt with his alpha-personality type before, while acting nice if you do not allow them to dominate you then they become threatened and want to excert their assumed authority even more. I started taking a video towards the end of this bizarre encounter and you can see that he even tries to involve one of his patients sitting in the waiting room. Found on Youtube [/shorts/pdWLZ2Rsj7g] In my opinion, this is one Unprofessional who needs to see a professional. Greg O - March 01, 2023

The choice was a bridge on both sides, which I wasn't crazy about on my rear molars, or to venture into world of implants. My dentist didn't offer them and recommended me to a specialist, Dr Mandel. Upon my first visit, Dr Mandel took x-rays, did an examination, and offered a game plan to attack it one side at a time. The one-side needed bone grafts, and he suggested tackling that first, and then onto the other side. However, this doubled the time frame before new crowns could be installed to six-months on that side. We discussed the process, and he thoroughly walked me through the entire procedure, answering my questions, and offering a consultative approach to making sure I was comfortable and had realistic expectations. While I was very nervous about what was involved and how long it would take, the decision was made to have it done right and to move forward with the procedure. Well, almost one year later and now having the new crowns installed, and I can say without a doubt it was a great decision. They look great, feel great, and certainly beat a bridge or dentures. While it was indeed a process, Dr Mandel was a total pro throughout the entire ordeal. He was extremely meticulous in every aspect of the journey, from the first examination, to being unbelievably good at everything around implants. In fact, it went so well, I decided to finally have a cosmetic dental makeover on my entire upper teeth. I ask Dr Mandel for a recommendation, and he sent me to another very professional and talented dentist. When all the 20-year crowns were removed on my top teeth, it became necessary to have two more teeth extracted, and once again it was determined by my dentist that two of my top teeth were gone and it was either a bridge or a couple more implants, so back to Dr Mandel. The difference is this time I had total confidence in Dr Mandel, and as before it went incredibly smooth. In a matter of a couple of hours, he performed two very difficult extractions, and like a mad scientist, placed the two implants. In the meantime, I have a temp on my entire upper teeth and will wait out the next 3-4 months before having the crowns installed so it's all done at the same time and I can get the best match. For anyone who may be scared or nervous about considering having implants vs dentures, bridges, or simply missing a tooth, it's not nearly as scary as it sounds. The key is to see a real pro like Dr Mandel. This dentist is incredible, and his mannerisms and skill make it clear he is truly a maestro at what he does. He instilled confidence every step of the way, performed extremely difficult procedures, and the outcome has become wonderful. In addition to these very important aspects, he was also one heck of a nice guy that literally couldn't have made it more pleasant through it all. I'm very appreciative that I found him to go through this process, and that it actually gave me the motivation and desire to tackle a full dental makeover. I can honestly say I don't think I would have jumped all in without Dr Mandel's encouragement, guidance, and reassurances along the way. If you find you need to have implants, be sure to check out the maestro, Dr Mandel.

I prefer to drive up to Baltimore for my dentist twice a year for cleaning and for any emergencies or restorative procedures. Lisa, the hygienist/cleaner is EXCELLENT and she is the main reason I keep coming back. Dr Brooks is really nice and we get along great, and DR Linnan (who used to see me but passed me on to Dr. Brooks, is excellent too). The office staff know me and always work with me and my issues. They are very helpful with billing and ways to pay for huge expensive procedures. Everything is easy and communication is key to it all. How discriminatory! My dentist seemed to have done a rush job and left bonding goop on my adjacent tooth (from an orthodontic mistake) and they also said I had 'soft spots' on my front tooth when there were none (look at an x ray) so he drilled it. Of course I'm going to review you low! I was highly offended when they called me out of the blue to dismiss me from their practice after doing such low quality flimsy work. I won't be back!!

It is such a pleasure to write an awesome review, and this may be one of the best reviews I have…read moreever written. I had a tooth where the crown came off probably ten+ years ago and after many attempts to glue it back in place, finally it came out and was out for probably seven or so years, during which it became infected periodically, but I did not have it extracted, as I was advised many times over the years. Fast forward, my wife and I moved to the Annapolis area a few years ago and we had to find all new doctors. Dr. Miele was recommended to my wife to do a complex procedure that should have been quite painful, but my wife told me that Dr. Miele performed magic, as her procedure was painless and perfect. Dr. Miele sets the bar to the top as an incredibly warm, compassionate and extremely professional doctor. I think the warm and compassionate traits are somewhat rare in the medical field, my wife and I are truly lucky to have found Dr. Miele. Now, to my procedure, magic! Yep, that's about all I can say. It was the second to the back, top tooth, close to my sinus and tricky to extract without any complications. Dr. Miele, again, demonstrated warmth and compassion, while being a top doctor in her field. These are a lot of words to say that my wife and I recommend Dr. Miele, if we could give 15 out of 10 starts we would. Now, all this being said, the office staff mimics Dr. Miele, they are easily one of the best teams we have ever met. We would also give the entire office 15 out of 10 stars.

My only issue was the heavy meds they prescribe as a matter of course. Another friend mentioned that too. I did not need the oxy pills and I never intended to take them, which I did not. The second time, I had gum grafting done. Again, during the surgery, Dr Di was very caring and professional. My follow up appointment was about six weeks later, and I still was having lots of discomfort and had another adjacent tooth that was numb. That was a very difficult appointment, not because of the doctor, but because of rough handling by the two assistants. I also have never regained normal feeling in the roof of my mouth (the donor tissue site), and it has now been over two years. I was told after the surgery it might take up to a year a year for the nerves to heal. I wish there had been more review of possible complications and negative potential outcomes before surgery. I don't recall seeing an informed consent form or discussing that with anyone on the team.

I've been receiving care at this location for over a year. I've always been greeted by the staff with tender loving care! The staff have always greeted me with smiles and have been so pleasant it just warmed my heart. I have to take a moment to make sure I leave a review to let the center know how much I appreciate their care and pleasant responses. Dr. Jose's team and Dr. Torres's team made sure I was comfortable and relaxed from the time I stepped in the door to scheduling my next appointment. My treatment has always been explained very thoroughly. The practice is extremely beautiful and kind of reminds me of a spa. The doctor's and staff are caring and highly competent. The office is clean, very efficient and reminds me of a spa. I recommend the Little Patuxent location of the Columbia Center for Implants & Periodontics 100%. My insurance needed additional information from the center which was resolved immediately. The staff followed up with me pleasantly and made sure I was informed and received the reference number for my comfort and satisfaction. They have always made me feel like family. Any time you have an appointment, you will wait 1 hour to 2 hours. The waiting is jammed with people. I feel as though after they got my money, they don't care about me. People in the waiting room grumble about how much they always have to wait and how poorly the office is run. Usually you have five women behind the desk and they all tell you it will be 5 minutes-- it isn't. You'll be waiting a long, long time. There are things they don't tell you. they say it will be 4 to 6 months for implants--- it won't be. More like 8 months. Once you are in the implant process, you won't be seen by a dentist, but a dental assistant. the dentist doesn't have time for you. That doesn't work for me. Dr. Chon needs to be a lot more patient with people. He talks very fast and is arrogant and rude. He is kind of hyper and talks very fast. I wish I would have found another dentist that was kinder and more considerate. I don't feel good about the dental office's practices.
