I'm grading my review of Kleinman one star, only because a review cannot be posted without a…read moregrading. In truth, he deserves -10 stars, based upon my interaction with him today. I was referred to him by my family dentist for recurring, intense gum pain where my dentist had extracted four teeth a few years ago because my dentist can't figure out the cause of the pain. Kleinman walked into the exam room, with a face that would stop an 8-day clock, didn't even introduce himself, and said in an I-couldn't-care-less tone of voice, OK, so what's the problem? When I told him, he said this isn't my area, you need an oral surgeon (before he had even looked at my gums). Aren't gums the specialty of a periodontist and isn't Kleinman a periodontist??? Then he said my dentist hadn't referred me to him, I had chosen him myself, which is a lie, making him a liar, and I told him so. I had a copy of my dentist's referral in my purse and my dentist had sent him copies of my most recent X-rays of the gum area weeks ago. Then he finally got around to looking at the gum area, pressed down hard on it, I saw stars, he said it's probably a bone infection, tell your dentist to open it up and clean it out. When I told him my dentist had already opened it up and found no cause for the pain, Kleinman said then go see an oral surgeon, I can't help you. An addendum to the review I posted yesterday --- Last night I found a message on our answering machine from Kleinman's office, left yesterday morning, to advise me not to show up for my appointment yesterday afternoon --- because Kleinman had reviewed my records from my dentist and, on the basis of those, he had determined that I need an oral surgeon, not a periodontist. What??? First of all, he had told me that he hadn't received anything from my dentist --- no referral, no X-rays, no records, nothing. He told me that his staff had told him that I had taken it upon myself to find him and make an appointment. So how could he review records that he claimed he hadn't received??? He is such a liar. Secondly, it was in late March when my dentist had sent him my most recent X-rays and I had made the original appointment, April 15, which I subsequently needed to change to April 29 because I was sick on the 15th. The time for him to have reviewed what had been sent to him by my dentist and to have let me know he couldn't help me was long before April 15 had rolled around. Not one month later, on the morning of the appointment, after I had rescheduled it, after I had filled out multiple forms online. Not to mention --- his office had called me a few times prior to April 15 to ask if I could come in ahead of the 15th whenever they had received a cancellation from another patient. And why wasn't I told this at the receptionist desk when I showed up there yesterday??? Instead, she had me fill out yet another form, take a seat, and wait for Kleinman to see me. Now I see why Kleinman was so rude, abrupt and dismissive with me yesterday in the exam room --- because he had already decided he had no intention of helping me and he wanted to get rid of me ASAP.

I selected this practice based upon the reviews and Baltimore Magazine's Best of Doctor's list, but…read moreI should have went elsewhere. I was told that it would cost $10,000 and 7 surgeries over two years to correct my severe gum recession. I reluctantly agreed as this practice does accept my dental insurance, and would defray a large portion of the cost. I followed the very limited recommendations provided by this office post surgery, which consisted of three actual instructions and things like "call our office if you have problems and take the ibuprofen" contained on the remainder of the 2 pages. I was underwhelmed by the written and verbal directions provided by the periodontist and googled other peridontists' recommendations for post-gum grafting. I found them recommending additional post-op suggestions including, but not limited to: not using a straw and how long to stay on which type of foods (with suggestions). I added these limitations to very limited ones provided by the dentist to try to increase my odds of success. At my post-op, I was told that I had lost a large portion of the gum graft. I understand that the procedure sometimes fail. However, the only instructions for ongoing care was given AFTER I said that I was glad to finally be able to brush my teeth. The dentist only then told me to continue not brushing on my right side for another two weeks. I had to call back to ask if I was to continue to chew only on my left side as well. The staff told me that it was in Dr. Kleinman's notes, but he never relayed to me. Communication with Dr. Kleinman was severely lacking! On multiple visits, he would provide different verbal instructions from printed instructions. When confronted, he would swear that he went over all the written directions, which was not the case. Perhaps I'm the anomaly and the other patients experiences are the norm at this practice. But my advice would be get a second opinion before choosing to use this practice for your dental needs.

Very disappointing experience. I was referred by my general dentist for an implant, but the first…read morething I was pushed to do was a sleep test costing over $300. I was then told I would receive an estimate. The estimate I finally got was over $6,000 with my insurance, and I assumed that price covered the entire implant treatment. When I showed the estimate to my general dentist, they suggested it might be only for the first stage (extraction and bone graft). I called the clinic to confirm, and they said that was correct--the quote was just for extraction + bone graft, not the full implant. I asked for a comprehensive estimate for the whole treatment, which I think is a reasonable request--especially for something this expensive. I called multiple times, left voice messages and emailed, but never received a response. Because of this, I decided to go with another recommended periodontist. When I showed the new doctor that estimate, they were surprised--"Just extraction and bone graft for that much?" This second clinic has an excellent reputation and many cases, and I was able to get the entire implant treatment for under $3,000--about half of this clinic's quote just for the initial stage. Most importantly, unlike Dr. Moskowitz's clinic, they answer the phone promptly and respond kindly to messages. Finally, I was surprised to receive a bill for a March visit recently (It's been 6 months!). If I had actually proceeded with treatment there, I would understand the charges and would be willing to pay. But after no replies and no comprehensive estimate, I had to find another provider. Charging me for that visit feels unfair--it left me wondering what that appointment accomplished, and it ended up being a waste of time and money.

I needed an antibiotic before my procedure and the called it in twice and pharmacy said they didn't receive it. I texted Saturday evening that they didn't acknowledge they had received it. That is service. Very happy to recommend

My only issue was the heavy meds they prescribe as a matter of course. Another friend mentioned that too. I did not need the oxy pills and I never intended to take them, which I did not. The second time, I had gum grafting done. Again, during the surgery, Dr Di was very caring and professional. My follow up appointment was about six weeks later, and I still was having lots of discomfort and had another adjacent tooth that was numb. That was a very difficult appointment, not because of the doctor, but because of rough handling by the two assistants. I also have never regained normal feeling in the roof of my mouth (the donor tissue site), and it has now been over two years. I was told after the surgery it might take up to a year a year for the nerves to heal. I wish there had been more review of possible complications and negative potential outcomes before surgery. I don't recall seeing an informed consent form or discussing that with anyone on the team.

I had a tooth where the crown came off probably ten+ years ago and after many attempts to glue it back in place, finally it came out and was out for probably seven or so years, during which it became infected periodically, but I did not have it extracted, as I was advised many times over the years. Fast forward, my wife and I moved to the Annapolis area a few years ago and we had to find all new doctors. Dr. Miele was recommended to my wife to do a complex procedure that should have been quite painful, but my wife told me that Dr. Miele performed magic, as her procedure was painless and perfect. Dr. Miele sets the bar to the top as an incredibly warm, compassionate and extremely professional doctor. I think the warm and compassionate traits are somewhat rare in the medical field, my wife and I are truly lucky to have found Dr. Miele. Now, to my procedure, magic! Yep, that's about all I can say. It was the second to the back, top tooth, close to my sinus and tricky to extract without any complications. Dr. Miele, again, demonstrated warmth and compassion, while being a top doctor in her field. These are a lot of words to say that my wife and I recommend Dr. Miele, if we could give 15 out of 10 starts we would. Now, all this being said, the office staff mimics Dr. Miele, they are easily one of the best teams we have ever met. We would also give the entire office 15 out of 10 stars.

Upon conducting extensive research to find a highly-rated dentist for the purpose of receiving…read morecomprehensive dental work, I discovered Dr. Sirius at Maryland Family Dentistry in Columbia. My initial interactions with Dr. Sirius were positive, and I developed a professional relationship with him due to his reputation as a prominent and respected dentist in the field, as well as my status as a police officer. However, I was disappointed to discover that Dr. Sirius informed me that the amount of work I required might exceed my dental coverage, which could result in additional expenses. Despite expressing my concern about surpassing my dental coverage, his team continued to schedule appointments for me to receive treatment, even though it was clear that I had surpassed my limit. This ultimately resulted in my incurring a debt of over $700, which left me feeling disheartened. I believe that Dr. Sirius and his team had the responsibility to inform me clearly and transparently that my upcoming procedure would not be covered by my insurance. As a result, I was left feeling as if I did not matter to the practice, and I now have a new dentist who prioritizes open communication and always informs me if a procedure will be covered by my insurance before treatment. It is essential for dental practices to prioritize the well-being and satisfaction of their patients above all else, and I would strongly discourage anyone from seeking treatment with a dental provider who prioritizes insurance coverage over the needs of their patients. I urge patients to verify their coverage with their insurance provider and to be vigilant in advocating for themselves to ensure that they receive the care they need without incurring undue financial burden. My name is Perry Talbert if anyone would like to reach out to resolve this matter or like a good recommendation for a dentist my email address is talbertperry@gmail.com
