About an hour before my removal they bring in pills and say this is a pill form of anesthesia (that is not a thing). My body doesn't take medicine very well and I always need a high dose of any medication I take and after the first set of meds he gave me didn't work and I was still completely awake he brings in more. Was not told the name of anything but was told it's Anastasia in pill form. I was awake for all of it because I was not giving any form of Anastasia and was given sleeping medicine. I am on sleeping medicine because I have ADHD and it take forever for me to sleep at night. The dr that prescribes my sleeping medicine stopped it and told me it sounds like you where actually overdosed on what ever medication they gave you and now my body goes back into that state of shock when I take any form of sleeping medicin. I called about 4 days after the surgery saying sum is wrong and was guilt tripped for 45 minutes. I can't drink Gatorade with the stomach issues and GERD I have. I went to the hospital for throwing up for three days straight and popping my stitches and the dentist said drink Gatorade. It settles Your stomach because of the surgery drink it is. Explaining I can't drink dyed drinks of any kind and especially not red he just kept saying drink Gatorade. Trying to word it differently and doing anything I could go maybe get him to understand I can't he just kept talking over me. Also later on told me it was sleeping medicine I was given and not what I paid for. In the parking lot the day I got my tooth out the receptionist was very rough and mad my wife needed help and more gauze because I threw up and grabbed my face n jammed my jaw shut. When my wife talked to her to ask a question she walked away and wouldn't answer her question if they have a throw up bag for the ride home. Terrible place and terrible owner.

But I got a second opinion and that dentist, doing further tests, confirmed that the cavity could be filled. Left me wondering why this dentist did not do the additional tests, which consisted of an x-ray and a cold test - nothing fancy - before concluding that the tooth needed to be pulled and replaced with an implant.

Right before I was retiring from the dental field, I was temping at offices in baltimore and worked at this location for a few days. That's when I saw first hand how this office is ran. At that moment I knew I would become a patient here. I told myself when my new insurance start I will make this place my dental home. Fast forward 8 months later on 7/28/26 I had my first visit as a patient. My hygienist was Brittany. She was very attentive and took great care of my teeth. Dr.Umo was my preferred provider and he was very knowledgeable and attentive as well to my concerns. What I also found is a similarity in all of the heathland offices. They pride themselves in patient care and office cleanliness. Not only is it a good company to Work for but a great place to be a patient. Also to note, I drove 40 mins to This appointment and drive past soooo many dental offices. However for good dental care, I don't mind traveling longer distances. Thank you to everyone at Belair Family dental especially the front desk staff!

I trust this team so much that I bring my kids here and even referred my mother. It's rare to find a dental office that truly puts patients first, but this one does. They never try to upsell unnecessary treatments or pressure you into services you don't need. It's honest, compassionate care every time.

He was specifically recommended because of his ability to deal with anxious patients. (Probably the Louisiana accent, which he claims no one notices.) I was PETRIFIED. I made him swear not to tap on the stupid tooth because that is totally unnecessary and painful! He promised and kept his word. He made it through all my anxiety and made me laugh. I didn't really even want to kill him. He and ALL of the staff from front desk to hygienist to billing were kind and understanding of my phobia. But I hoped I'd never have to see them again. OF COURSE I HAD TO. I went back yesterday for a second root canal (different tooth). This time I had to see Dr. Reddy because Simoneaux wasn't there, and it was an emergency. Grrrreat. New Dr, New Fear. The staff, again, assured me it would be ok. I again was a terrified mess. Dr. Reddy was VERY patient. He seemed confused that I wanted all the needles just none of the drilling. I think I scared him more than he scared me, but we made it. His assistant was the sweetest. If I have to get another root canal, I'll just get dentures. But they'll be the ones to do it.

On behalf of my Mom, I am sharing her recent experience on 9/19/22 in having a root canal…read more performed. I took her to her appointment. The dentist did not use the proper amount of numbing cream and/or did not wait long enough prior to inserting a needle into her gums. It was bad enough to make her cry. He said to her "you must have been surprised by the needle" versus being empathetic to her pain or taking responsibility for his action. In addition, she cursed when he inserted the needle. The assistant was more upset that she cursed versus the pain she encountered. She has never experienced this much pain nor lack of empathy (responsibility). In a follow-up call the next day, they wanted to know how she was feeling. She told them she was still in pain, and their response "this is normal." Again, she asked them what occurred the day before. They again didn't own up to possibly making a mistake. Ironically, she received a root canal from the same service provider a few months ago; conducted by a female dentist; and she did an amazing job, was very sympathetic, and explained all of the procedure. Very disappointed in not ensuring proper amount of numbing cream administered. More disappointed in how they handled the in- patient service and follow up. The procedure took 45 minutes. $1650 in cost.
