I have been coming to this dentist for about 5 years now. In September I had an appointment for a Friday for a regular check up and cleaning. This appointment was made at my last check up, 6 months prior. On the day before my appointment, I receive a phone call that they are no longer accepting my insurance and that this decision was made back in June! Why would you wait until late September to tell me this? I asked this to the receptionist and she had no answer. The staff here USED to be wonderful. I loved Nicole, she was great. She left the practice and so did the original doctors I saw. On top of all this, the doctor that works there (the older white gentleman, apologies for not knowing his name) was extremely rude and forceful the last time I was in there getting a crown put on. Came in at 7:00 this morning. Spent 40 minutes in the office. I was with the Doctor less than 20 minutes. In that time he did extractions and fitting. 6 hours later I am back in the office. My mouth has been bleeding a great deal continually for 6 hours. I was never shown how to put in the denture (i was given verbal instructions after I said something. The plate is out of allignment by about 3/8 inches. So far out of allignment I am unable to chew anything. The plate has fallen out twice. It simply does not fit. Dr. Freidman is a delightful person. His office is more concerned about practicing speed dentistry and getting as many high-priced proceadures sold as they can. As a side note, they have signs in each room selling Botox treatments, A dentist pushing Botox treatments? Again, more concerned about selling high priced proceedures than anything else. read more

I made a last minute appointment with them to have a root canal and it was wonderful (and I hate the dentist.) Dr. Ghermann was phenomenal - very gentle, good with the novacaine shots and I was in an out in less than 2 hours for the whole thing. The staff is wonderfully nice, and very helpful. They helped me figure out all of the out of pocket expenses before the procedure. While they were doing the work, I could smell chocolate chip cookies baking - I thought I was just in my happy place, but after we were done the procedure they gave me a warm, soft, sugar free chocolate chip cookie. It was delicious and the aromas made me forget about the drilling! read more

I have been going to Dr. Brett Friedman since 2008. Started off good but as the years passed I started to notice a decline in the service and care I was receiving. I had two partials done by Dr. Friedman and neither were to my liking so when I spoke to Dr Friedman about how this second partial looked when I smile he said " While I guess you are going to have to learn how to smile differently." I thought... where is the "Caring"? I have always been complimented on my smile throughout my life and I love to Smile! So when he made that comment... I felt like it's more about the money instead of his patient (my smile). He was not overly concerned about look of the partial as he was the fit. When they took my impression for this particular partial the person was inexperienced she challenged to get the impression correct she had to do repeated attempts with no success. So I requested someone else to do the impression. That day was a disaster! The other thing that got old fast is..My scheduled appointment times rarely did I get seen on time and most of these appointments are for cleanings only. Every appointment I would arrive on time (which is 10 mins early) and wait to be seen they still seem to find it hard to get me in on time! And here is a example... So just the other day I had a appointment a 7:40 am (I got there @ 7:30) do you know that @ 7:49 I had still not been seen and so I get up to find out how much long it was going to be and I was told a few more minutes so as I turn to walk away she could sense I was upset then around 3 mins had passed she says let me go check to see how much longer this is going to be. I felt she should have done that when it started to pass my appointment time but anyway after checking she came out saying...It should only be a few more mins @ this time it is now 7:54 am. Now a few more mins (give or take) should be 1-10 mins and with their track record I'm not confident that it will only be 10 mins longer so I asked to reschedule. I've never had a good experience here. The treatment rooms are a mess. The hygienists I've had, while competent enough, are always running behind. My wait times to be seen are consistently 15-30 minutes, even when arriving early/on time. My husband and I are leaving this practice. read more

Bad experience with the Billing Department. My husband went for a root canal and was told by the billing manager that our insurance was in network. We paid the $150 asked when service was rendered and 9 months later, we receive a bill for $291.00. After several calls back and forth with the billing manager, we were told our insurance wasn't in network and that we owed this money. The bills were coming to our home in my name and I am not even the patient. After a few months, a letter addressed to my husband threatening him to a collection agency. Be prepared to expect bills months possibly years after your service. Just call your insurance company before going to be sure you are in network so you don't encounter the same issue. read more

Beware! Brett Friedman made several key mistakes in my treatment. These mistakes caused me significant trauma and excessive pain. What was told to me would be a 30 minute cosmetic procedure had me instead suffering horrible constant pain for over two and a half hours. I was traumatized. The mistakes were blatant and clearly showed a lack of attention to my case which resulted in "his proceeding with a treatment absolutely not suited for me". I quote that from a dental practitioner and legal expert. I write this urging you to seek another dentist rather than chance what happened to me could happen to you. He may win awards from magazines he advertises in but he does make mistakes. The staff is always helpful and accommodating. The waiting room is comfortable, they remember your name and they give you a lovely washcloth and a cookie when your appointment is done. I have seen people come in and be taken care of in emergencies, and they are always grateful for the care they received. read more

My hygentist Sandy is always quick, efficient, and friendly. After my cleaning, Dr. Nader comes in to check my teeth, and he is always friendly. I had an opportunity to see Dr Friedman and although I live on the West Coast Dr Friedman was extremely informative and helpful in getting my dental issues on the right track. He worked me into his schedule and explained every thing I had going on and how he was going to help get me comfortable so that I could see my regular dentist once back in LA. This is a place that is definitely out to make money. It has the feeling of a used car lot. I was constantly told one price and charged another. When I had work to be done- a crown to be put in, they called me constantly. After I came, made a big payment and got a temporary crown ( which fell out the same day) I got one phone call to come in and finish the work. Then, I was charged almost $400 more than the estimate. When I wanted some small cosmetic work done, they told me it would be $80. Then, I was told that I would have to buy a $400 retainer. I did not need it. It was a cheap piece of plastic. That was highly manipulative. The people are fairly nice, but the work is average, and the sales tactics are atrocious. Honestly, how does one underestimate the cost of a crown by $400- especially when the final work was never done. I was asked to pay more every single time I had services there. It is very busy and it's in and out. If you want to have a Walmart crossed with sleazy sales type experience in dentistry, this is your place, otherwise, go elsewhere. read more

Am not a happy camper I had thought I was dealing with professionals and I was totally wrong was there for 3 hrs left alone 30 min. at a time to service other patients while the numbness is leaving. Doctor could not fix my bridge correctly and said my teeth shifted and that is why she had to break off part of my jaw bone, I'm still in sever pain taking pain killers which I had, This place should be shut down and Morgan should have her license revoked she has no clue on what to do. $3300.00 for the abuse and anguish I had to go through. I recommended a friend that need a root canal and she was bruised all over her face and didn't even do that correctly. I wouldn't even let these people (not doctors) work on a dog. I chose union dental based on their positive reviews and they did not disappoint! I had doctor Friedman and Sandy for a hygienist. They were both amazing especially Sandy. Spare your self the horror! Very very rough! Disrespectful when questioned, eye roll between Dr. Friedman and his assistant. Went in to get a crown because of a chip in my tooth and came out without the tooth. After a few MINUTES of drilling was told my tooth was fractured. When I questioned him, he denied he was at fault then I was passed along to the other dentist who also added injury to injury! Since they couldn't at this point fix the damage they caused, the other dentist was given the task of pulling the tooth. She was nice enough but exceedingly rough. She caused several gouges in my gums, 2 blood blisters on my lip where they kept trying to use my bottom teeth to brace the instruments while prying. She kept hitting my other teeth with the instuments. Told her to stop using my teeth for prying and to also stop clanking her instruments against them. A few days later had gotten an infection. Hmmmm. Stay far away from this nightmare! (Front desk secretary was very nice though) read more

Just moved to the area from the west coast. Just days before I left, I went to the dentist for my regular preventive maintenance who alerted me about a couple of problems that needed attention. I always judge a medical or dental office by the friendly staff and find them to be an accurate reflection of the doctor and the overall company culture. This staff is extremely friendly and warm. I was able to get an appt for the very next day and felt very welcome there. Dr. Friedman is very nice, with excellent chair-side manner, and most importantly, does very high quality work. I immediately felt comfortable in his care--and I am typically a very anxious patient. Most of the equipment is modern from what I could tell and they use digital x-rays, reducing the exposure to radiation. The only negative aspect of this office is the decor is cluttered and a bit tacky. Even though it needs to be updated inside and out, overall, it's a great practice. read more

I was having trouble with my two back teeth on the right side of my mouth-the pain was awful. I hate the dentist but knew I had to go. Then I found Union Dental. As soon as you walk in their office you feel comfortable and relaxed. The staff is warm and friendly. The dentist I had was very caring and compassionate and was generous with the novacane. I had to have two teeth removed-one surgically. Was it the most pleasant experience-of course, not. BUT my pain is gone. I feel great. I have a deep phobia of dentistry. Its not cool. I can handle a wild snake without issue. Spiders dont bother me, but get me thinking about dental work and I have an instant anxiety response. I called the Union Dental office up, explained my phobia first, and everyone instantly became very very caring towards me. Lots of comforting words, lots of explanations, it definitely helped mitigate my anxiety (a little, enough to get through the procedure). Parking on the street is easy. The office is clean. The staff are really friendly and efficient. Dr. Brett was so totally not judging me and very understanding. I finally found my primary care dentist. read more

I've had several appointments with Dr. Brett Friedman since I first started seeing him 5 months ago. I had to have a root canal along with getting a temporary crown and then the permanent crown. I was very impressed with the whole process from start to finish. The dental assistants are knowledgeable and nice. The ladies at the front desk are also nice and helpful. They went over what I should expect at each appt and what my cost would be before they started. Dr. Brett doesn't have the greatest bedside manner (you can tell he likes himself a lot) but it doesn't matter because you're in and out of there so quickly there's no time for chit-chat. (Besides, don't you hate those dentists who shove your mouth full of cotton and tools and then decide to ask you how your family is?) He shoots you full of novacaine - painlessly - so you don't feel a thing during the procedure. He gave me an RX for ibuprofen but I didn't even need it. I was fine that night! Best dentist I've ever had after trying 4-5 throughout my life. Also, took my 4-year-old daughter to see Dr. Linda Gherman. They were great with her and didn't even mind me staying in the room with her. What a great way to start taking my daughter to the dentist. She's not scared at all! read more
