Still coming to this location years later. The transition from the old dentist to the new ownership has gone well. There are now several dentists working here, I think perhaps three? They recently renovated and expanded their office. Finished work November 2024. Brand new equipment and chairs and rooms. Very bright and inviting. I am extremely disappointed in how this practice handled my account. I had not been a patient for nearly three years and had moved out of the area. I never received a bill, statement, or any communication regarding an outstanding balance. Recently, I was contacted times by a collection agency demanding payment for a significant amount. When I attempted to contact the office directly to understand the charges and resolve the matter -- including offering to promptly pay any legitimate balance -- I was unable to speak with a manager or anyone willing to review the situation. Instead, I was repeatedly redirected back to the collection agency. Sending an account to collections without prior notice and then refusing to communicate directly with a former patient reflects very poor business practices. I had previously thought highly of this office (even despite a few minor complaints), which makes this experience even more disappointing and infuriating. I strongly encourage prospective and even current patients to ensure they understand this office's billing and communication policies and adherence of, before seeking or resuming treatment here. read more

If you're paying to see a dentist, you should be seen by a licensed dentist and treated by a licensed dentist and not an interchanging team of assistants. Dr. Wears and her team made one of my worst nightmares come true yesterday. At the top of my appointment, with zero warning or anesthesia, a dental hygienist on staff ripped out my entire bridge without any doctors present. It was painful, it was shocking, and it was negligent. Additionally, it is clear the doctors overbook themselves, treat patients as price tags, and have very little actual time to focus on patients unless you tell them you're not comfortable with a hygienist running 80% of your appointment. After waiting 20 minutes to be seen because the Dr. as running late (see above reasons why) I was made to pay several thousand in my co-pay before they would even treat me. To add insult to injury, as soon as I paid, I was told I'd need to speak tot heir finance department because my quote increased $2,000 from my original quote. I still have the paperwork despite them trying to convince me I never received or signed anything. Again, only when pressed did they actually procure my previous documents. To make matters worse, after a harrowing appointment that started late and that Dr. Wears was barely present for, she then tried to up-sell me on cosmetic dental procedures. This place is a meat grinder, they don't care what your past experience is, they don't care what they've quote you before. They just want money and have no ethics. read more

They need to be more honest about their pricing upfront and stop trying to upsell every service. They even told me about a $30 fluoride treatment, slapped it on my teeth then charged me for it. They told my partner that he needed a scaling immediately, but when he had the appointment, started other services he wasn't aware of. Luckily he had the extra money in his account. The care was good and the staff were friendly but they require you to get lots of expensive X-rays. I even sent in my previous X-rays (less than a year old) but the hygienist "looked at my insurance and saw they would be covered again". Now I'm looking at a bill where they were definitely not covered and I'm out the money for a waste of time. If my teeth were bad maybe I'd get it, but I haven't had a cavity in years and there was no need to waste $80 getting images again. Just be wary and if you have insurance, be sure you know what you can get covered ahead of time. read more

I would not let these people work on my dogs or cats teeth!! I went for cleaning and a general filling and they broke my tooth vertically and it Hass to be extracted by a surgeon. I have been in severe pain for a week and they will not even answer the phone when I call.. adding insult to injury, they told me they were going to extract a tooth for me. I went for a second opinion, and another dentist told me they absolutely cannot extract a vertically broken tooth and my tooth is infected and I'm in severe pain. . I would never trust them to even clean my teeth or anyone I nose teeth and I will be reporting them to every regulatory agency I can find !!! read more

I got an infection after receiving a filling from this dental office avoid this place . They rush your services just to get you in and out to get the next person . This dental office doesnt care about patients just your insurance and money . This lady has no idea what she is doing . She told me i didnt have an infection and low and behold i have an infection in my gums i haven't been able to chew on my right side of my mouth since February This place is awful and they get mad at you for there mishap smh . read more

This place is great, continue to make the drive even though it's now inconvenient to go. The hygienists are all kind and gentle. The dentist is a former Army guy - he's quick and to the point. Maybe that's not for everyone, but for people who don't like the dentist generally it is a godsend, he doesn't mess around or recommend more than is necessary. I've read some of the reviews from others, would suggest to take it with a grain of salt, because dentists/doctors have to know what a patient has taken to safely perform work. The hours are also great and he keeps staff for a long time because they all love having fridays off. read more

I know most people don't like the dentist but I don't actually mind the dentist. Sometimes I even enjoy going because of that clean feel after you leave. This place did not leave me with any clean feel, just a bleeding gum line and a sore mouth for the rest of the day. The dental hygienist was very rough, the way they do the x-rays caused a plastic thing to dig in my mouth and my face while they performed them. The exam room was not private and was sort of run down. I will not be returning here. read more

I was referred to this place by the Canton Neighbor page for Invisalign. I already had three other consultations and different places and probably called 10-15 offices to hear about their options. First of all, it says a lot about a business when the person who answers the phone is kind enough to answer your questions without irritation in their voice. We scheduled a consultation and I filled out paperwork online to cut down the time. Dr. McCollum answered my questions and was friendly, but most importantly a realist. I read a few reviews down and my advice is to not even pay attention to those because he isn't creepy at all, he's pretty funny. I will definitely be returning to the office for my treatment and would recommend anyone to try them. read more

Due to faulty work by a previous dentist, I recently began experiencing issues and went to BSD via a friend's referral. Not exactly sure where to begin with the concerns that I have with this dentist and his staff. I visited Dr. McCollum back in October after not having been to the dentist in a while. Upon being taken back for my cleaning by the hygienist, she began my round of X-rays. After taking numerous images, she made me aware that she couldn't get clear images of my very back (wisdom) teeth and basically told me, in a roundabout way, that she was not going to try again, which I felt was unprofessional. After my cleaning was completed, Dr. McCollum came to meet me and review any issues that he saw. He could not have been less interested in he questions that I was asking him and barely spent 5 minutes with me. He very quickly told me I would need all four of my wisdom teeth out, even though my top two were completely in and none of them were causing me pain. He was extremely quick to tell me that I had no other choice. On top of that, after he made me aware that I had a couple of cavities, he mentioned that he would not see me until I had my wisdom teeth out to make sure I had no additional decay. This was logical, but the way in which he explained all of this to me was done using scare tactics and from someone who already has a lot of anxiety about the dentist, this was truly not the appropriate way to treat a patient...especially one that is new. To say the least, he has very poor "bed-side manner." Dr. McCollum then made the statement that some of my X-rays were blurry and the hygienist interrupted and explained it was not her fault and that I was the one that caused the blurry images. Fast forward 6 months, my new dentist explained that there is absolutely no need to get my wisdom teeth out unless they are causing me pain or decay...and neither is occurring right now. I certainly understand preventative medicine, but I find it completely outrageous that I was given no other option and treated this way. Lastly, Dr. McCollum mentioned to me that he wanted to repair previous fillings that I've had done. My new dentist said nothing of the sort and stated that all my previous work was completely fine. It took me 6 months to write this review, but I am not 100% confident after seeing a new dentist and getting a second opinion, that Dr. McCollum is completely in it for the money. Would never recommend this place to ANYONE. read more

Dr. McCollum pays close attention to detail which I really appreciate. I had a crown done by a different dentist that never fit right and was constantly falling out. Dr. McCollum patiently worked on the crown for well over an hour until it fit correctly. I haven't had any problems since. I always enjoy hearing the banter between Dr. McCollum and his staff, it always makes me giggle. Dr. McCollum has never recommended any services that I didn't need. The cleaning I recently got was very gentle but thorough. He explained in detail why it would NOT be a good idea to have my wisdom teeth removed. I trust him completely with my teeth. His services also seem to be very affordable. His office will be moving around February to a more updated space. I highly recommend his services. read more

I've been seeing Dr. McCollum for 7 years. He is the most honest and professional dentist I've ever had. When I lived in Philadelphia, I would travel all the way down to Baltimore to see him. He has the best hygienists and his office is always immaculate. I recommend Dr. McCollum and his team to everybody. read more

My two stars are for the hygienist, Crystal. She was very patient through my anxiety regarding dental appointments. Why the low stars? Dr. McCollum was very creepy & seemed more focused on my tattoos than on my teeth. He also accused me of drinking while taking the anti anxiety med that he prescribed before my visit. I was so disgusted, I ended my appointment right then & there & went home to take a shower. Unfortunately this Dr. made an otherwise nice experience a terrible one & anyone with anxiety about dental appointments or any females that don't want to play coy with a socially awkward male dentist should avoid. read more

Dr McCollum and all his staff are fantastic. When I first went to him he was able to repair a crown poorly installed by another dentist. I had been told I would need the old one cut off and a new one made, but Dr. McCollum drilled it like it was a tooth, fixed the problematic screw and filled it again. Cost me a tiny fraction of the money, time, and discomfort, and it's still rock solid after 6+ years. The hygienists are friendly and funny and gentle and the whole place just has a comfortable, happy vibe. Best dentist's office ever. read more

My husband and I both attended our first appointments the other day. The staff was incredible - welcoming, efficient, and highly skilled in their area of expertise. The attention to detail was also impressive - even giving patients sunglasses during the exam/cleaning. We are so happy we've decided to be patients at this practice.
