Horrible horrible experience. The obese, tattooed secretaries complaining about customers they just got off the phone with in front of current customers. The pedantic, sing song doctor who doesn't care about how late she's running or her need to show the patient pictures of what gun disease looks like. Ignoring the fact that you tell them you only have an hour for the metered parking ( after they tell you over the phone that there's plenty of free street parking it's on a super crowded section of Charles street). Had a bunch of homeless people on the steps outside you get to step over too. Then they charge you 15 dollars for osha fees I've never paid at any clinic ever - it leads one to think the office isn't doing good as they say they are - they also said that they'd be getting me in by around 3 - it was 320 after I came by fifteen minutes early to do paperwork for my first time with them. read more

Dr. Madani and her staff are wonderful. I have know her for about 5-6 years but I had a different dentist. My teeth are very healthy, but in recent years I started having residing gums. After a terrible experience at my dentist and several weeks of pain I made an appointment with Dr. Madani. She took the time to explain the procedure and also listened to all my concerns. She is caring, sensitive and VERY knowledgeable, I highly recommend her to any one who is looking for professional yet caring work. She knows her patients, she cares! Charles street dental... I've been coming here for several years now and have always had a good experience or at least as tolerable of an experience as one has at the dentist's office. I've never had anything beyond regular cleanings and a couple minor fillings done here so can't speak for more major work but have been satisfied with the work they've done every time. I recently got a night guard at Dr. Madani's and/or their hygienist's recommendation and they've been quite helpful with adjusting it multiple times so it fits properly and doesn't cause discomfort. Definitely recommend. Can't speak for anyone else but I never had the experience that some reviewers have had with excessive/unnecessary work being recommended; a night guard was easily the most expensive thing I've done here (only a couple hundred $) and judging by the deep bite marks after only a couple months it was definitely necessary and getting it was the right decision. read more

horrible horrible dental experience. the tattooed, obese administrative secretaries in scrubs are on the phone complaining about customers they just got off the phone with. they misrepresent the parking situation over the phone(it's nothing but street parking) and then when you tell them how much time you have on your meter they lie about how much longer your wait it. after coming in early to fill out paperwork at their request, they finally decide to see me a half an hour later. they don't read over any of the paperwork you fill out so they ask you the same questions over and over. the doctor herself is pedantic and ignorant as well. pointing to a chart to explain tooth decay to you. they then don't even have any time to do any cleaning as you requested, charge you osha fees for coming in regardless of your insurance, and then say they don't have any availability for another couple months. I had better dental options when I had Medicaid but this was the one closest to my home, going forward I will gladly avoid coming here ever again. I can't bring myself to understand why Charles Street Dental (Dr. Mandani and Dr. Roosta) have such good ratings!!! Sure, the receptionists are friendly, but every time I went in, they discovered something new with my teeth that I needed to have done, which has never happened in my life. I have since found an honest, new dentist, so I have proof that my teeth are fine. Dr. Roosta worked on a tooth that had never bothered me, until she worked on it, and now it hasn't stopped bothering me since. They did a fluoride treatment without telling me that insurance wouldn't cover it, because I'm an adult.. they then told me that they wouldn't charge me for it... they then sent me a bill for the fluoride treatment. They charge you random $8 charges every time you go, for "office supplies, like cotton, etc".. what is that about? They sent me a bill with a bunch of charges on it, I compared it to my dental insurance claims online, and they were billing me for things that my insurance had paid for. When I called the office to ask for an explanation, I had to call three times before someone called me back. When they did call me back, they said they would look into it and get back to me that evening. One month later, I have still not heard back, but I did just get the same bill in the mail, with no details on it. Just the same total amount. Don't be fooled by the lovely receptionists. These doctors just want your money, and they would charge you for using their restroom or using one of their tissues to blow your nose if they could. Please don't go here. Find a nice, honest dentist somewhere else. read more

If you can be a fan of a dentist, I am. And that's saying something. Dr. Madani and her sister are caring skilled dentists that actually attempt to make the experience relatively pleasant. They don't use happy gas (which of course takes dentistry to a whole other level of pleasantry) but they are the next best thing. Everyone that I've ever had that works at Charles St. Dentistry has been really great. My only criticism is that Dr. Madani is not one of those "let's leave it alone for a few months and see what happens" kind of dentists. She wants to get things taken care of ASAP. Which is probably for the best but requires more time in the chair with drills! read more

If you like to be charged for things you didn't ask for... this is the dentist for you! I schedule a teeth cleaning (included by my insurance), went great, the dentists here do a great job... however once I went to check out I come to find out my bill was $48 because of Fluoride. And so I ask why... isnt my teeth cleaning included in my insurance and the desk person says but fluoride isn't included. I never asked for fluoride nor someone asked me if I wanted it... you just did it and charged me for it. Incredible infuriating!!! Also, be prepared to pay $8 each time for supplies. Incredible disappointing, these messed up billing practices will keep me from ever stepping foot here. UPDATE: they called me the same day and told me they actually DIDN'T do the fluoride on my teeth and they credit me the 40 dollars. Front desk didn't even check properly they just assumed I got it and charged me for it. read more

The customer service here is so great. Very convenient for downtown too. You also feeling like you are part of a family. Having spent a lot of my adult life at military dentists, it was almost a shock to my sister to see how much they go out of their way for my comfort. The office has two dentists who are sisters, and they do a great job of taking care of you. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area. They even call you after a root canal to check on you! Love ..love..love Dr. Madani. This place makes you feel at home. The bedside manor is the utmost you can receive in a dental office. They make as comfortable as possible...all the staff. A good friend of mine recommended this place and said the quality of their work was exceptional but I just had a horrible experience with their receptionist. I called them on the 6th and was quoted 150 for a full exam so we scheduled an appointment for today, November 12th. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by empty desk which I thought was very unprofessional. After their receptionist came out and asked for my name and typed it into their computer, she told me that they canceled the appointment because she called me yesterday and I didn't answer my phone. She stated that they cancel appointments for new patients if they can't contact them to confirm the appointment. I told her I never received a phone call and she pulled up my phone number in her computer and it turned out that they entered my phone number incorrectly even though she made me repeat it twice over the phone. The last digit of my phone number was entered into their system incorrectly; a 6 instead of a 7. She told me there was nothing they could do about it because their schedule was completely booked for today and offered to schedule an appointment for tomorrow. Then she revealed that a full exam costs $238 which is way over my budget. I was not prepared for any of this so I'm left standing there juggling times, dates, and figures around in my head while at the same time questioning if I should even conduct business with them. Then she told me that she would let me think about it and told me they were in the middle of a meeting and walked away. I stood there for about 30 seconds wondering if I should wait for her to come back and then I decided to cut my losses and walk out. I just waited 6 days, swapped shifts with a co-worker, spent 10 bucks on a cab to get there only to be turned away with no apology and no compensation. read more

Dr. Madani's entire office is awesome. They remember every patient, so you always feel at home walking in. Their bedside manner is top notch. I suffer from an anxiety disorder so I am even more uncomfortable with dentists than most people, but the staff makes me feel very comfortable. They check if I'm okay, acknowledge my concerns, and don't make me feel like my questions are stupid. They treat you like family. If you're nervous about seeing a dentist, this is the one to see. They make sure you're comfortable the entire time, going the extra mile by giving you breaks during long visits and letting you close your mouth to avoid jaw soreness, and using topical numbing gel before the Novocain shot so you won't feel it. read more

Dr. Madani is fantastic. Why the low review? The front desk. Passive aggressive. Since Millie left the desk its been a disaster to get anything scheduled, or billed. ABSOLUTE nightmare trying to get prices from when you visit to bill time. It jumps all over the place now. So we were doing pre-treatment estimates, to try to solve this. Fine. The amounts by the way were significantly less on the pre-treatment estimates from Delta Dental, then the amounts I was being blindsided by after treatment was completed. I show up today at 9am for a filling, and I am no where in the system. Again. For the 3rd time. I have an appointment card, I have a pre-treatment estimate from them in my hand, and my appointment was given away. Its a shame, Dr. Madani does great work, my kids love her. But whats the point if they give away your appointment. read more

I would NOT recommend this dental office. I went in for a new patient appointment and a routine cleaning about a year after I moved here and last saw my previous dentist. The dentist here told me that having cavities was normal and that she wanted me to schedule fillings for one side of my mouth for the next week and then the other side later on. I then had to ask the hygienist how many cavities I had since the dentist didn't tell me anything about where these cavities were or how many I had, and the hygienist told me I had 19 cavities. 19! The hygienist then broke HIPAA in front of me and LAUGHED about it! Needless to say I went back to my previous dentist for a second opinion and he confirmed that I did not have 19 cavities, in fact I don't have ANY! I will be finding a new dentist here. read more

I went in for a regular cleaning and they strongly recommended a crown for a tooth that was not bothering me at all. Now after the treatment and several visits my tooth is still worse off- hurts like hell. they overcharged for teeth guard which is a dud coz it hurts my teeth and i would rather not use it than damage my teeth any more. On top of it all, after almost 4 months after I was there last they send me a bill for hundreds of dollars saying that my insurance was maxed out. Yes I was stupid enough to get taken in by them. read more
