Sugar Haven is close to work so I decided to give it a try. I was able to get a same day appointment (around the holidays too!) which was much needed. The place is nothing fancy, just bare bones. This was my first sugaring experience. I had my lip and chin done. The pain is no different than waxing, a little less probably. The cool sugar is soothing as opposed to the hot wax that can burn. There are no strips, just a ball of sugar that is almost rolled over the area. It's not a "one and done" pull like with waxing. There are some areas that take a couple passes, but it's not like in waxing where the more rips the more pain. The redness was the same as waxing but disappeared sooner. Kyarra did my sugaring and she is a good soul. I will return for my in between waxes when I can't get into my regular place. I have never been here before but her peaceful and concerned message to me warmed my soul. If her character is this kind normally, imagine her environment! I wish I could have made it but am hopeful I'll be better able to financially pay for it next time. It's only $25 but gas prices are so high that I find myself choosing to get a $1.00 gallon of water instead of the normal $3.49 pack of like 20. I will be returning though, I have to experience this atmosphere. You should too!!

I literally had no pain (no preemptive Advil or anything!) yelped only once out of surprise. 3 hours later and fees like nothing even happened. She is talkative and kind, and didn't make me uncomfortable about anything. She was also gracious telling me about the cheap ingrown hair solution she uses from Target, no sales pitch for lotions from their store (in fact I'm not sure I even saw anything for sale?). Having just moved back from San Francisco, the salon is lovely and stylish with many private rooms and a few chairs side by side for eyebrows.
