Overall, it was a lovely experience with friendly staff who seem genuinely passionate about their work. We will definitely be back! Tis the season!

This perfect tree looked so nice it should have been kept as a display. Perfect symmetry, and no trimmed ends anywhere and the angle in which the branches pointed slightly upward was simply stunning. I usually get a tree from here for the past many years. Silver Tips are selling out very fast and are almost gone. WARNING!! Buy now - permits to cut down were lessened this year and a snowstorm of biblical proportions prevented a second wave of inventory. Seraj helped me pick out a tree. He pointed to a fresh shipment of Fraser Furs as he knew I was a bit bummed about the tree Leyi snapped up from under my nose. I didn't get there with my box of chocolates quick enough. We went to the back and found the tallest Silver Tip they had. It was the one. He gave it a fresh cut and then Stacy helped load. It was a very fast and pleasant experience. I'm not sure why but they have the most beautiful trees here of many different varieties. I finally got my tree today - and at this point I recommend you do the same. According to their website, they have over 240 varieties of peonies under cultivation. It's a bit of a drive to get there (a very scenic one), so you want to check their website to ensure they will be open. We caught them on one of their open days before they closed for the season (usually around Memorial Day). But they sell potted plants all year round, and you can make an appointment on their website. Bare root shipping is available from Aug. 15-Dec. 31. The lady who owns the place is friendly and helpful. I purchased 2 of the potted plants, "Bowl of Cream" and "Nellie Saylor." Compared to what they charge in most nurseries in the area for similar sized peonies, these were a bargain! Next year, I'll be sure to go earlier in the spring, to catch most of the plants in bloom.

When it's not a pumpkin patch, the lot gets used for other things - such as Xmas trees. I've been here a few times over the years with various groups. Entrance prices are relatively decent, but ride prices can rack up quickly - especially if you have multiple kids. There are plenty of things to see/do even if not participating in the rides. Staff is usually very friendly. I think they've added on some games for the kids over the years, such as the water ball one. The maze is always fun to get lost in and the hayride offers views within the corn fields. The petting zoo has some cute animals. There's a small cafe area in the middle of everything where you can grab some snacks/food. If you're here on a weekday expecting less of a crowd, there are school tours going around and may be more packed than expected.

I appreciated how Veggielution has posted videos showing how and where to enter the property. Staff explained the instructions thoroughly and handed out gloves. It was a hot day so I was thankful that the event was under a shed and the food packing itself was straightforward and not very strenuous. We filled the boxes with fruits and vegetables assembly line style and then stacked them all up. With our big group, we finished packing 725 produce boxes in about 90 minutes. Some of us also helped remove weeds around the shed using hands + shovels. At the end, one of the employees gave us a guided tour of the farm which was super fun! He talked about the different events they host - on Saturdays there is a Farmer's Market and youth garden for little kids. The farm is huge, so it was cool to look around and learn about their farming practices. Also learned that they offer low-cost fruits and vegetables to the community! Staff was very friendly and efficient! They provided us with all the necessary tools. There were some leftover fruits and vegetables, and volunteers were allowed to take them home which was super nice! Overall, I would definitely volunteer at Veggielution again. When I learned that they also have a pumpkin patch, I decided to host my son's 6th birthday party there, and I'm so thankful I did! The birthday party was a huge success, and everyone had a great time. KR Farms easily accommodated our large group of 30+ guests, and we were able to bring our own beverages, catered food, snacks, and cupcakes. There are so many activities to keep both kids and adults entertained, including bounce houses, a corn maze, a petting zoo, gem mining, arcade games, and so much more. There's also a great variety of pumpkins for guests to choose from. The party picnic tables were located in a shaded area under a tent, which was a must for a sunny September party and gave our guests a comfortable place to eat, relax, and celebrate between activities. Tawny, Keri, and the rest of the staff made the planning process so easy. They let me visit before opening day to see our setup area, which gave me a great feel for the space and helped me plan everything in advance. They were also happy to let us use tape and scissors to hang our balloons and party sign. From planning to the day of the party, the team was responsive, attentive, and a pleasure to work with. KR Farms is a wonderful, family-friendly pumpkin patch and a must-visit during the autumn and Halloween season. We'll definitely be coming back soon!

But because I needed something to do in the area before my first Yelp Elite Experience nearby, I found this pumpkin patch! First off, there's a LOT for your kids to do and we just paid for the Fun Zone package which was like $24ish? It didn't include the gem mining which was honestly the only thing my kid really liked after I had to pay another $5 for it. The staff was super friendly though, but clearly for a weekday, they're not going to be fully staffed so the snack shack wasn't staffed. To caveat: my kid isn't a fan of bounce houses but I knew he would maybe enjoy the corn pit, the farm animals, the arcade and the pedal cars but 1) the corn pit was smaller than expected and was full of corn weevils (which ChatGPT helped me identify are harmless beetles but still gross), 2) there were only two goats and we didn't have coins to dispense the goat food but they were cute and bleated at us constantly after I managed to feed them some goat food off the floor (sorry!), 3) the arcade was "too loud" for my kid, 4) and the pedal cars wouldn't work. Womp womp. He did enjoy the gem mining and the Tetris Tumbler game and he did enjoy the corn pit until we discovered all the bugs. I would've given this 3 stars had the staff not been so kind and friendly and even gifted us a free ginormous pumpkin?!?!
