There are 2 showers and, if you have done traveling, you know this can be a welcome relief after a long flight and during your lay over. However, we were departing so the showers were not needed. This lounge looks out at the KLM planes and a few British Airways gates. Also, although the airport advertises free Wi-Fi, I could only sign in for an hour. However, that provided me enough time for some Yelp check-ins since the Yelp app did not work in many of the locations I visited. Personnel were very friendly, spoke English, and kept the lounge clean when people left their garbage, dishes, and newspapers strewn about. There is a huge departure board that alerts you when to start walking and the time it will take to get to your gate. Safe travels.

Unfortunately, as time has gone on, the experience has really started to slide. It's the flagship lounge for KLM's home hub, but honestly, it's becoming a bit embarrassing for the brand. The biggest issue is the overcrowding. It feels more like a busy train station than an exclusive retreat. What's most frustrating is that they have that expensive "Blue" pay-to-eat restaurant taking up a massive chunk of the upper level. It's usually half-empty while everyone else is downstairs cramped together. If they just integrated that space back into the regular lounge area, it would breathe so much life back into the place. As for the food, it's just aggressively average. You'd think a flagship lounge would showcase some high-quality dining, but it feels very "mass production" and lacks any real flavor or variety. Then there's the cleanliness/pest issue. On my last visit, I actually saw a mouse zip across the floor. I know Schiphol has a well-known reputation for a mouse problem because of its location and age, but seeing one in what is supposed to be a "premium" lounge is still a major turn-off. KLM really needs to step it up. Between the crowds, the average snacks, and the uninvited furry guests, it's just not the world-class experience it used to be. They could--and should--do a lot better than this.

The lounge provides an excellent way to relax before a flight. The Food and Beverage offerings change through the day to match with people's needs for the particular time of day. Their is usually soup, warm savoury snacks, cheeses, fresh olives, two types of salads, fresh bread buns, cheese, meat, etc. At certain times of the day there are also nice sweet offerings, like macaroons, chocolate cake, etc. The products on offer are always of good quality and are tasty. The fizzy drinks are nicely presented in small bottles (no no 'post mix' taps) in fridges and I have never seen an empty fridge. I'm not much of a wine drinker so I can't comment on the choice of wines nor about their quality. There is a good WIFI connection, downloading a tv show from iTunes doesn't take very long (though the speed will obviously vary). Toilets are clean, one very spacious near the end of the lounge and smaller ones near the entrance. A nice enough selection of magazines and international newspapers. The lounge offers speedy border passage with their dedicated security lanes (they can be a lifesaver) for both Schengen countries as non-Schengen countries (iris scan). This lounge has been extended and upgraded in terms of food offering: They propose a nice cold buffet and warm mains in 2 different areas. They offer clean restrooms and showers (amenities included). Plenty of seating and working areas with USB, Wifi, power outlets, TVs and a smoking room. I particularly appreciate this lounge when I have transfer over 2 hours, after a long inter-continental flight. Very nice competent and helpful staff. He purchased a salami and mozzarella panini for € 7.90. They heated it for him. We split the panini, and it was really fresh and good. We thought the price was reasonable for what we received. We just needed a little something to tide us over until our next flight.
