Really good service and fast honest which are unfortunately is rare in the mattress business. We are very happy with our beds there are liked them a lot more for the price than other places. It's out of our way in Norwalk, we live in Ansonia, but we would definitely go there again. Hopefully we don't have to for a long, long time. read more

After 35 years on a waterbed...which recently began to "gently weep"...we finally had to make a switch to a landlubber mattress. Shopping for a mattress was exhausting...the exhaustion amplified by me having to sleep on my son's lower bunkbed and she in the girls room on a twin... while we canvased the world for a waterless replacement. I was very unhappy with Kleinsleep they sold me a $10,500 mattress. The mattress had no name on it I found the mattress to be a disaster area. I warn do not shop at sleep etc I was forced to wait a year for a replacement mattress they claim it had to be shipped from Sweden Jeff Klein treated me like I was a no account It was so sad the way I was treated. I did purchase a Carpe Diem mattress which was a disappointment. Once Jeff had my money ,. He thought he could kick me to the curb. Warning do not shop at Kleinsleep. Great experience here. High end mattresses comparable to bloomingdales with natural options not found anywhere else. I liked that at kleinsleep there were many great options- luxury European brands, local natural non-toxic, etc. I was deciding between a mattress at bloomingdales and at kleinsleep and ultimately chose kleinsleep because: their mattress felt equally as comfortable and luxurious, used organic cotton, the shop has been family run for decades and Jeff the owner knows everything about every mattress. At bloomingdales and other mattress stores, the sales people were not knowledgable and would literally just read the info to me off of the website. So happy I found this place. I travelled from NYC to Norwalk to look at a particular bed (Carpe Diem mattress and box spring). The store manager was kind, attentive, knowledgeable. I needed some time to make sure it was the right fit. I next was in touch with Jeff, the owner, who was just as kind, attentive and knowledgeable. I was dubious at first, as I have never experienced such fantastic customer service, but after reading reviews here, I realized these people are for real and genuine! This led to a back and forth for a few weeks, via e-mails, texts, phone calls. Jeff even had his installer come to my apt in NYC to make sure the bed was going to work. Jeff and his entire staff are prime examples of how a business should work, and how customers should be treated. He went far above and beyond what was expected. After our experience I can truly say that Jeff, Anthony,Paul and the entire Team at Sleep Etc are amazing. My Husband and I bought a mattress and bed frame from Sleep etc in April of 2010. After about 6 months the bed started to cave in the center. We placed only one phone call to Paul in the Stamford location and within a week we had a new mattress. Several months later we had the same problem. My husband has back problems so we knew we had to make the call over to Sleep Etc to see what could be done.They sent out their guys right away to see what the problem was. After a bit of research by Anthony we figured out that our platform bed was not the support system that we needed.In addition, the mattress we had purchased was not right for us either. Anthony met with my husband to discuss different options for us. He came up with a plan to get a low profile box spring to fit into our platform bed. Which would maintain the sleek look of the bed while providing more support for us. He also suggested a mattress which would better suit our needs. They new bed and box spring was delivered last week and has made such a difference! They did all this 100% FREE! No additional cost to us. This is what customer service is all about. having moved from NYC to CT in Feb 2014, I knew I wanted our new bed to be a King size Organic Latex mattress. I did a ton of research on what to get and went to every location in CT that sells what I was looking for. Do not understand good reviews for this store. We left a $1000 deposit and Anthony made an appointment to come to our condo to verify mattress fitment. We canceled dinner plans to be home for this. He was a no show and did not even call to let us know he was not coming. He left a voicemail the next day with lame excuses about leaving the store early and something about not being able to phone. Be warned. Maybe the previous reviews were friends and family. Update today 2/25/2019. I went in to the store this morning to return a mattress cover that was a gift for our order. Since we were canceling we wanted to return this in good faith. Beware, when I entered the store a large black dog approached with no attendant in sight. Scary. I immediately left the mattress cover inside near the front door and hurriedly exited as the dog appeared aggressive. I am allergic to dogs. Beware if you go to this store. Should a dog be left unattended in a store?. 2/27/19. The owner Jeff called and offered a refund or discount. I love a luxury mattress no matter the cost and I will not apologize for it because I work hard. But I do buy things carefully and with an eye for quality of material and craftsmanship. I am also a flight attendant and good sleep is an absolutely critical issue for me since I have slept in a lot of awful hotel beds most of which claim to be "heavenly". On my search for that luxury Duxiana, Vi-Spring or Hastens mattress I discovered Carpe Diem made in Sweden and sold exclusively at Kleinsleep. I was intrigued with the website/catalog but I didn't see any marketing? When I called requesting information the owner Jeff Klein answered my call and instead of pawning me off on one of his salesmen he personally took care of me! After almost a month of answering questions and sending me pictures/videos he earned my trust and business for life! Based on my favorite sleeping style and my weight he chose the best Carpe Diem model for me. He had my Harmano in my preferred dark grey color shipped to my home in Florida "White Glove" delivery and I was still rolling in it amazed when he called to make sure I was happy. We found Sleep Etc originally when our chiropractor highly recommended them. Their knowledge and service is way beyond the usual mattress and furniture store sales level. Almost four years after purchasing a king mattress/box spring from them we decided we wanted a firmer mattress and contacted them. Jeff, one of the owners, personally visited our home, checked out the set-up, and recommended a firm "topper" that would achieve the desired result without the expense of a new mattress. Jeff Klein of Sleep, Etc is the person to go to if you are in the market for a high end mattress (or any mattress for that matter). We live in California and purchased a Hastens Citation from him approximately 2 years ago and his superior level of customer service did not stop upon receipt of the bed. We were promptly apprised of the status of the shipment and when the bed arrived and was assembled, there was a problem with the adjustability. Upon mentioning this to Jeff, he literally got on a plane and make sure to make time to come to our house to personally fix the issue! I am still beyond impressed at that level of service and responsibility. Then, when we had a follow up issue with our bed approximately 2 years later, he was tenacious in his follow up with Hastens. He did not stop until he got an answer from Hastens. It is Jeff that I credit the level of service rather than the manufacturer. It is a shame for Hastens that their beds are being phased out of Sleep Etc. because given our amazing experince purchasing from Jeff, we would base any future decisions to purchase a mattress, not by the brand anymore but by whatever Jeff recommends and carries. That is how impressed we are by him. In fact, given how stellar Jeff's level of service and business model is, we'd probably buy whatever merchandise he was selling, mattresses or otherwise! read more

(I posted this on another forum but also wanted to share it here. It's also something I pretty much said in a recent phone call to Sleep Etc. owner Jeff Klein, whom I've never personally met.) Seven years ago we bought a natural latex mattress with a phenomenal topper at Ergo in Southern Ca. It was a great bed ... until the wool topper started to wear out. I noticed I was (for years!) increasingly not sleeping well. We then moved to Connecticut and toyed with buying a new topper to replace the old. It would have been nearly $1000. THEN we started shopping. We tried a natural latex bed from another local manufacturer, but couldn't get it just right. We shopped around at higher end stores and got close to going the Kluft route, but after going the alternative route with the latex -- it just didn't feel right. (at the time we were in the $3,000 to $6000 category.) THEN... on a lark we stumbled into the Sleep Etc store in Stamford. Paul the manager showed us what he had. Nothing seemed to interest us. THEN... he suggested we try the Carpe Diem, which were WAY out of our price range. (Turns out they're the national distributor.) We have never looked back. I realize buying a bed is highly personal. Some people like foam, latex and/or air. We bought the Carpe Diem and at the age of 59 I can tell you that for the past three months (enough time to know!) my wife and I have never slept better. This is, without a doubt, THE BEST bed I have ever slept in. Period. Nothing comes close. Best part: I'm sleeping through the night again! It sounds totally corny and promotinal, but it's true. I have not slept this well in years. Very little tossing and turning. Somehow they removed all levels of pressure. I justified the price by reminding myself i spend 6-7 hours a night in the bed and it'll likely be the last bed I ever buy. I'll have to replace the topper, but ... it's the quality of sleep that counts. The worst part about this bed: I hate to get out of it in the morning. I'm not in any way associated with Sleep Etc. or Carpe Diem. I'm just a guy who has shopped for beds for years. I consider myself an educated mattress shopper. Like many of you (us) we experienced failures with traditional beds as the qaulity started to deteriorate. (One too many Sterns & Fosters!) We're so sold on this bed that we recently replaced an older traditional bed in our guest room with ... a Carpe Diem from Sleep Etc. Just couldn't bring ourselves to buy anything else. Lots of money, but worth it. My prediction is that Carpe Diem and premium beds, in general, will increasingly capture a larger chunk of the bedding market, mostly by world-of-mouth. This is a family owned store that's been in business for many many years, all of staff are incredible knowledgeable & are not pushy salespeople but honestly want you to get the best mattress. We purchased a mattress from them and one of the owners, Jeff, helped us. My husband loved the mattress but it ended up being too hard for me. Jeff came to our house to remedy the situation & couldn't not have been nicer. He suggested a few different options and said if it didn't feel better after a couple more weeks he'd take it back. I don't usually write reviews on yelp. (Actually this is my first time!) But I feel like I had to share this experience this time! We bought a Carpe Diem Bed from Sleep Etc., and both their service and product are truly exceptional. If you know anything about the Carpe Diem beds, you would know that it is not a easy purchase to make regarding the price. However, Jeff and Andre helped us through the entire journey: from making the decision to the delivery of the bed. Even the delivery guys were very nice! (It was very different from my uncomfortable experience with the Macy's mattress delivery guys) It has been 3 weeks since I started sleeping on a Carpe Diem bed, and I think this is one of the best purchase I made in my entire life. Before, I had a serious back pain every morning, but now my mornings are way better. The back pain comes back from time to time during the day depending on my situation. However, it significantly got better, making me want to spread the word about this bed. (that is actually how I found about it in first place) Even you are considering to purchase something other than the Cape Diem beds, I don't think you will be disappointed with their great assortment of products and services. I find shopping for a mattress difficult and Anthony and the team were more than helpful. I did not like the first mattress that I chose, so they helped me select a different one and exchanged it out for me with no additional charges. Jeff Klien is VERY unprofessional and by far the WORST experiance i have ever encountered. i went in to purchase a mattres and there were many things that went wrong... 1. i was over charged 2.on the day of delievery they said it would be the 1st delivery around {8-830} and i received my mattress sometime after noon. 3. My new bed had stains on it 4. my bed was thrown in my kitchen 5. i was told with my purchase i would receive a top of the line mattress cover, which i never got 6. my old mattress was never hauled away. when i called the following day, i was told yes indeed i was over charged... i told them i would be in to get my refund as i went in Jeff approached me with his dog... yes not only unsanitary as this is a mattress store but very unprofessional as he started yelling at me because i was with my newborn daughter who began to cry due to her feeding, as i calmed her down and tried speaking with him all he did was yell and say he didnt have time for me or my daughter who was crying because he had prior reservations with his wife in which he was running late on... he then told me i would not get my mattress picked up, he would only credit me a certain amount, and i would not get my free mattress cover as i was told. then he told me i was overcharged because i was charged for the mattress cover, and he just began to ramble lies after lies. being a professional and a mother, i took his comments and began to show him his flaws, and employees and he then began to get infuriorated and started yelling saying i didnt understand the principal and all i wanted was my refund. he then stated that he wasnt going to allow me to use HIS manufactor's coupon which was an extra 25$ out of my pocket. This man is INSANE and needs help and should not be dealing with customers. i would never recommend anyone to this place. read more
