When my car died at a friend's house, he recommended this garage.
I suspected the issue was gas-related and informed the shop of that
after having it towed to them. The car was filled with flea market leftovers from a recent ill-promoted event and I was advised to remove
all items from the passenger section for fuel pump access. Thus, a hoist
not required for repair. I was advised of a quick repair. When I contacted the shop, Hans stated that the wrong fuel pump had been ordered and more time would be needed and that the quote was increased substantially. As I had just begun a compressed shift, I could
not pick up the vehicle during their shop hours until the weekend and I
had clearly advised him of that via a phone call. When I expressed displeasure of the price increase and the delay resulting in my need to use the ETS for the duration, he then contradicted his earlier info by stating the wrong part had been sent. As the pump was accessible
from the back seat floor area, it is quite contradictory that if the correct
part had been ordered initially that the price would increase. Hans also
justified the increase by stating: "what would the dealership have charged!". He also attempted to get me to pick up the car once the delayed repair was completed during the week even though I had been quite specific that my recently changed work schedule would not allow
that. I researched the price of Denso fuel pumps online and it appeared to indicate the pump price was quite inflated. Although, I can certainly appreciate a business operates for profit, my situation appears to be a situation where "bend over" seems to apply. I would give this place a complete pass - anyone who so glibly bends the truth about how a part was ordered/sent cannot be trusted. read more
