The service attitude is good, but the Chinese staff seem a bit indifferent. The environment is rather crowded and noisy. We ordered pork tripe and chicken hot pot, egg tofu hot pot, claypot rice, and fried crispy pork. The pork tripe and chicken hot pot was quite good, but after adding more chicken broth, the flavor became much lighter. The claypot rice didn't have the sausage flavor infused into the rice, so it needed extra sauce, which was disappointing. Both the egg tofu hot pot and fried crispy pork had a salty, savory taste, but were a bit one-dimensional in flavor. Overall, it was average and falls short compared to authentic Cantonese restaurants.

extremely good chicken pork stomach hotpot, reasonable price. Excellent service from the boss. Will recommend

This place has something of an identity crisis. From the name, you'd think they sell Malaysian and Indo-Chinese food. But they also sell Hakka (Indian Chinese) food & the Indo-Chinese food is just Vietnamese. I'm told the chef is from Ipoh, Malaysia. They get 3.5 stars. Char kway teow with shrimp is an off-menu item, but at the same price as soya sauce fried rice noodles. It was decent - there was some smoky wok flavour, a generous portion of huge shrimp & a lot of chives. The noodles didn't stick together, which was good. There was a trace amounts of crispy tasty bits (probably crispy lard). The dish wasn't spicy though (YMMV - I actually prefer it non-spicy). KL oxtail rice noodles was a bit strange. While pretty tasty, it tasted like a bastardised version of pho & I am both unaware of & unable to find accounts of this Malaysian dish. The soup tasted a bit spicy & a bit herbal. While the noodle & oxtail portions were generous, there was little soup.

Street view. A Hakka joint in Chinatown? I can't think of another one.

Meh, I was hoping for better as this is a great location near me for grabbing lunch while wfh. Plus the interior is swanky for Chinatown too. The last iteration here was a classy Pho joint that was maybe a little too classy ($$$) for such a simple concept. Now it's a Indo-Malay restaurant. I thought this was great, something a little different compared to the legacy spots, the mainland newcomers and the Vietnamese contingent. I had one of the limited lunch specials, priced right around $10 with pop which is perfect. But nothing really grabbed me. Starting with that tattered and stained paper menu for the lunch specials. Then when I dove into my chow mein special it was kinda bland. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing? Get something else and prove me wrong please! It was mainly noodles and once I got over the disconcerting colour of the spice I realized I wasn't crazy about the taste. Then noticed there wasn't enough chicken. But what freaked me out the most was the noodles. My kid likes al dente, so I get the attraction but not for me. These were one level to the left of al dente. Just hard to chew and I had to be more canine-like to finish the meal which was substantial. Maybe I'll try something else there but you'll have to convince me first.

There are specials that change weekly. The interior is decorated with New Orleans memorabilia, medium lit, cozy (not large), with jazz music in the background. Service was attentive and friendly. They operated for 30 years at their old location. This location soft-opened on 2026-02-12. We came on 2026-02-25 for dinner. There were still some furnishings to complete (there were unforeseen delays). They kept the same menu offerings but it will be expanded within a month. We ordered the following: 1. Citra Terre D'Abruzzo Pinot Grigio - Italy (glass $14.95). 2. Coke. 3. Crab Cakes ($19.95). 4. New Orleans Shrimp Cocktail ($19.95). 5. Jambalaya Aranchini (weekly special). 6. Blackened Lamb Chops (weekly special). 7. New Orleans Fisherman's Plate ($39.95). 8. Pecan Pie warmed with Ice Cream ($14.95). 9. Bananas Foster ($14.95). 10. Beignet ($14.95). Every dish had an excellent presentation. We spent a lot of time taking photos and videos. What did you expect from me?! We loved all the dishes! The portions were large! There are more staff than in the previous location, allowing the service to be excellent. They tend to have many loyal and returning customers. Every table starts with freshly baked bread and butter. The bread was so fresh! The three appetizers tasted good. They each had a little kick due to creole cuisine. I loved the shrimp the most. The Blackened Lamb Chops was perfectly cooked. Each of the four pieces were very tender, accompanied by a delicious sauce. The dish had some very nicely cooked seasonal vegetables: roasted potatoes, a red pepper, string beans, a broccoli, and a carrot. This dish will be put into their regular menu in the near future. The New Orleans Fisherman's Plate is great if you want a little sampling of their seafood: Blackened Fish, Cajun Calamari, and Coconut Beer Shrimp. It also comes with rice and seasonal vegetables. The fish was so good! We brought some home for my mom and she really loved it. The Coconut Beer Shrimp was on top of a Orange Marmalade Sauce, which is really liked. The three desserts looked really good and tasted good. I loved the pecan pie the most. They can split dishes in half in the kitchen and serve them on two dishes for two people to share. The restaurant uses fresh seasonal ingredients and spices to create authentic Creole and Cajun tastes. Everything is made in-house except for bread and butter. In the near future, their bread will be made in-house too. Currently, there is only indoor dining but they are looking into the possibility of sidewalk outdoor dining. Mike Djurdjevic runs the front of the house while his wife, Mira Djurdjevic, operates the kitchen. Their son, Marko, also helps in the front of the house. There is a large pizza oven at the back of the restaurant. They will be introducing creole pizza in the near future. There is a separate large room for events, parties, etc. This room will be ready in the near future. They also do catering. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, but there is no door-open button. There is one gender-neutral washroom, which is also wheelchair accessible, and one female washroom. Thrre is paid neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-037

Everything was delicious…read more The bread was warm and tasty, and both the servers and the owner were incredibly friendly, which made the experience even better. At first, the location felt a bit odd and made me wonder what to expect, but once inside, the atmosphere was actually very nice and welcoming. The seafood was excellent, and the grilled bass was amazing -- that was my favorite dish of the night. The other dishes we tried were also very good, but the grilled fish really stood out for me. The owner also mentioned that they'll be moving soon to a larger location near the Etobicoke lake area, which sounds exciting. With a better location and more space, the atmosphere should be even better, and I think the restaurant will do really well. Definitely a place I'd recommend, and I'm looking forward to visiting again after they move.

The restaurant is a decent size with a cozy and relaxing ambiance. We ordered some of the most popular dishes, and everything that came out was absolutely delicious. Every dish had its own unique flavour and taste. There was a small mix-up with our order when one of the staff accidentally brought us tofu shrimp instead of the fried rice we ordered. Amy, one of the servers/managers, handled the situation so professionally. Even though it was already last call and the kitchen was closing, she was able to have the correct dish remade for us. She sincerely apologized for the mistake and even gave us a complimentary plum drink along with some butter cranberry cookies. Amy provided exceptional customer service and was absolutely awesome throughout the experience. Despite the long wait, the food and service made it worth it. I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure be coming back!

The crab itself is meaty and fresh, and the bread for dipping makes the sauce the meal's most dangerous feature. Gloves provided; dignity optional. The room is casual, the service attentive and good-humoured. They get busy, so come early or on a weekday. By all accounts from fellow diners, the black pepper and salted egg yolk preparations are equally worth the trip back. I'll be taking their word for it -- soon.
