Treasure - 6 Pieces Chocolate Box

Worth the effort to get there, go all the way into the mini-"mall" (emphasis on mini). Look for The Black Swan shop on the main drag and KKô is back in on the right. The pieces we had were excellent and I wish we could have tried more. Another MDMD = Must Do in Mount

You can watch them make the chocolate through a big glass windows. They have a large selection of chocolates, as well as fancy little cakes and chocolate almond salted chocolates. I took home some of the dark almond salted chocolate and it was delicious. They also have a milk chocolate and a sugar free version. I'll have to try a small cake next time - the little cakes are refrigerated, so they recommend coming back before you head home so they aren't left out in the heat too long. I didn't make it back that day but will definitely take one home next time and get more chocolate.

Exquisite pastry. The Blueberry Gateau is spectacular. These delicious pastries are works of art. I am in complete admiration of anyone that can produce a product with such perfection. The appearance, taste and quality is 5 star. I can't imagine the time invested in making these. Some may think it's pricey, I think of the time it must take to create each layer with perfection. Well worth it. Tastes as good or better than it looks.

The chocolates are beautiful and delicious. I purchased a balsamic strawberry cheesecake chocolate and it was wonderful. There was a layer of cheesecake and a layer of balsamic strawberry on top, which pleasantly surprised me. I expected a mixture inside.

The store is so cute, modern, clean, inviting and nicely decorated. Once you step in, you get to see the beautiful chocolate bonbons in display next to their entremants. The staff was welcoming, nice, attentive and more than happy to answer any questions and give suggestions. We got the 6pcs chocolate box and a Blood Orange Pate de Fruit. The bonbons we got were the Salted Caramel, Coffee, Pumpkin Spice, Toasted Coconut, Raspberry and the Caramelized White Chocolate. Everything was delicious, not overly sweet, you could taste the quality of ingredients and it is the right amount to satisfy a sweet tooth. I recently found out they are offering classes to make your own chocolate bar and it looks fun! I need to check it out and if you are in the area give them a try!

Accidentally took the wrong turn which came to be a good accident. We walked through the shopping alley way and this was on the way out. My boyfriend and I were impressed with the tiny little chocolates through the glass case. We ordered a 12-piece chocolate which costed us an arm and a leg, but it was worth it! Their quality of chocolate is impressive and doesn't leave a waxy after taste. My favorite was their coffee and my boyfriend's favorite was their white chocolate. It was nice to try but very expensive.

I've lived in some of the best cities in the world and was craving real, gourmet chocolate - so hard to find around Wildwood. So, I was close to Mount Dora and tried KKO and was so glad I did. I bought a dozen chocolates and two cakes. Everything was artistic, professionally done and delicious. If you're an Epicurean, this place is for you.

Tonight for date night my husband and I made custom chocolate bars in a class taught by the owner (he's a trained pastry chef from Puerto Rico). He taught us about chocolate and it's origin and how it goes from being a plant to a chocolate bar. At the store they make bean to bar chocolate bars and get chocolate from all over the world. They grind the cocoa nibs themselves or they roast the cocoa beans and make their own nibs. We learned that the color you see on the fancy bonbons and bars is painted on in layers into molds. Each step has to crystallize before you can move to the next step. We were able to taste the different kinds of chocolate (white, milk, dark and ruby) as well as the additions we put in the bars at the end (nuts, fruit, crunchies). It was a kids dream! You get to dump chocolate on the table and mix it with a scraper and taste the chocolate/ingredients and paint/splatter to your heart's content. The owner is a patient teacher and very knowledgeable. It's a small group (6), so it's manageable. Since it is a kitchen, you wash your hands and wear gloves while handling the food stuff. Everyone gets their own colored chocolate to paint with and your own mold, parchment paper and towel- you have an apron to keep your clothes clean. It's cool in the kitchen (64-65F) so you might want a sweater or long sleeves. You stand the whole 1.5 hours at the work table (no chairs) and there is product for the store on racks and in the refrigerators and freezer, so not a lot of extra room to move around. You can be as creative or plain Jane as you want to be. Our class had a mom and her early teen son, two twenty-something friends and us later fifties sweethearts. Everyone had a good time and felt accomplished at the end. I can't say enough good things about this place and the husband / wife owners. If you're looking for a fun and different date night or an activity for a night out with girlfriends or something to do with your tween- try a visit to KKÔ!

This hand crafted chocoaltier / dessert shop is tucked down a little alley of stores. It's good, fresh, but better looking than tasting and a little pricey for the offerings. Very limited seating. Taste *** Quality/Freshness ***** Presentation/Uniqueness ***** Service **** Atmosphere ** Cleanliness **** Value **

Shoutout to a new POC-owned small business that deserves some hype! KKO opened their doors just a few months ago but are already garnering plenty of hype on social media, offering a mix of beautiful chocolate candies as well as fine desserts/pastries. The owners were very friendly and told us about their method of rotating where they source their cocoa beans from to try out different regional tastes--such a neat idea! Although the chocolate was tempting, we could not resist trying the desserts, which are also made in-house by the talented owners. Their attention to detail is nothing short of remarkable: even the dessert base was affixed to the bottom of the carry-out box to preserve the aesthetics all the way home. Oh, and it was delicious as well. Don't miss this place if you're in town--they also ship if you're feeling extra generous to loved ones (or yourself :D)!

Absolutely delicious. Aesthetically pleasing. Candies look fake. They are a work of art. We bought a box of (6) for $16 and it was worth every penny. Thank you!

There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.
