First of all the town Mount Dora so cute! For my birthday I decided I want ice cream for breakfast and what a good decision that was. I had one scoop of banana pudding and a scoop of key lime. My husband was basic and had butter pecan. The flavors together maybe not but I didn't care it was my birthday and they were so good. It's located on the main street and they have nice sitting area. The service was great and she was very patient with us as I wanted to sample them all. In this summer heat this is a great spot for a cool down. read more

My husband is addicted to ice cream so I've been here too many times to count. Their ice cream is phenomenal! I'm a little bummed they got rid of Graham central station but I quickly found another flavor I'm loving! I'm only giving this 4 stars because they also sell pastries like cannolis, cup cakes, and cookies and I've tried them on separate occasions, and every time the baked goods taste sort of stale. I'm not sure if it's due to the temperature they have to maintain inside the ice cream shop so the ice cream doesn't melt but the pastries just haven't been a favorite of mine at all. If what you're looking for is yummy ice cream or sorbet flavors, this is absolutely a great spot. read more

This place did not disappoint ! It's one of Mt.Dora's most frequented and top spots to check out. The staff is always super friendly and nice. They were so patient with us since we were so indecisive but gave great recommendations . This ice cream shop has such a variety for a sweet treat. You can choose from gelato,ice cream, cookies, mini cakes, donuts,cannoli, cupcakes, etc. Prices are very fair for the quality you get for the baked goods but for the ice cream it's a little pricey in my option and it's not in house. We were able to sample some ice cream flavors (3 total) with small spoons but narrowed it down to getting some cakes and going somewhere else to get coffee. We got the coconut cake and it was amazing . The frosting was decadent and it was probably one of the moist cakes I've had in a while. We also ordered a Caramel apple cookie and white chocolate macadamia cookie. The caramel apple cookie tasted just like apple pie in cookie form and warmed up with some ice cream it would've been a home run. read more

Cute little place and very busy. Hanging at the craft fair today and with it being so hot, ice cream was an obvious go-to. Glad we went with the cup option so it stayed in the cup instead of down my arm. Was able to get 2 different flavors with the 2 scoops and it was nice and frozen. I've often seen that on hot days, many ice cream places don't turn the freezer up high enough, and the ice cream will be rather soft and melty as soon as I get it. They actually had it nice and solid so that I could enjoy the cold treat before it had a chance to melt. Yummy stuff too and good quality. Would recommend! read more

Amazing ice cream! I absolutely loved Scoops on 5th. I stopped in real quick to grab some ice cream. Zero regrets! First of all, there's convenient parking right behind the shop. And the ice cream shop is located in a beautiful brick building located adjacent to Foxtail Coffee. The shop itself is really cute, bright, and clean with seating inside. The girls working behind the counter were super friendly and helpful. And there are A LOT of flavor choices. I spotted coconut ice cream (NOT sorbet, but a real coconut ice cream) and got a scoop of that and a scoop of strawberry in a waffle cone for my mom. I tried the coconut ice cream- it was SO good. Then I got a scoop of Cookies n' Cream and a scoop of Rocky Road in a cup for myself. Loved them both. The vanilla base (of the cookies n' cream) and the chocolate base (in the Rocky road) were fantastic. It tasted like reallll gourmet ice cream, and not the crap you'd get in a container at the grocery store. It was a wee bit pricey- the total came out to a little less than $16 for the two ice creams- but everything is more expensive than it used to be. C'est la vie. A must stop if you're visiting historic downtown Mount Dora. They offer a nice selection of ice creams and cones. Service is friendly and courteous. They have inside seating, or you can elect to sit on the wooden bench, just outside, along the sidewalk (probably one of their best advertising ploys, ha!). I ordered their Salted Caramel Bananas Foster ice cream (2 scoops, TYVM) with a chocolate ice tip cone. It was just good old fashioned deliciousness!! Two scoops of ice cream and the cone came to $8. plus some change. It might be a little pricy, but what isn't these days, plus I think it's worth it. Super cute retro ice cream shop in the heart of downtown Mount Dora. (Totally felt like we were in an episode of Stranger Things!) They have a TON of ice cream flavors- with a cone or scoop option. They also have a bakery with cupcakes and other baked goods. I was excited to see they had a vegan option- Chocolate Cookie! My friend got the (regular) mint chocolate chip. Lots of Hershey brand ice creams. I really wanted to like the vegan ice cream option- but it had a sandy/dirt like texture to me. My friend loved his mint chocolate chip in a classic cone, though! The place was busy every time we walked past. There were only 2 employees working- both scooping and taking payments. Hesitant to go here because they sell Hershey's ice cream & I was hoping in quaint Mount Dora to find a local ice cream maker. So glad I tried it! Delicious & creamy. SO MANY OPTIONS. We dashed into this adorable shop one Saturday night in the middle of a rainstorm. I just had to have ice cream after dinner. We were staying at a local VRBO. It was delightful! Ice cream was yummy, shop was clean and bright, and there was a nice mixture of tourists and locals. Service was excellent! My only regret is that we didn't scoop up a few baked goods to take home. Scoops on 5th is a charming ice cream parlor located in the lively area of Mt Dora, surrounded by shops, bars, and restaurants. What I love about this ice cream shop is that when you walk in you honestly feel like you had stepped back in time with all the vintage feels and decor, in which I thought was a nice touch. This shop had a nice variety of baked goodies and ice creams that could please even the sweetest of tooths. Now since I came near the end of the day there wasn't much left in the baked goods display but I still managed to get 2 different cookies one s'mores and one red velvet. Both were soft and chewy just how I like my cookies. They had a good balance of sweetness to them and I honestly had no complaints because I had finished both of them in one sitting. I had also decided to get the banana ice cream, which I thoroughly enjoyed as well. If you enjoy weird ice cream flavors like I do, then I would definitely recommend getting the banana flavored ice cream, especially on a hot day it really hits the spot. All in all Scoops on 5th was a great end to my day after a full afternoon of exploring the beautiful city of Mt. Came here yesterday because the kids wanted some cupcakes. Cute little place. They had a variety of cupcakes and ice cream. The kids settled on a Nutella Cupcake and a Strawberry one. The price was $3 each. The kids liked the cupcakes and I tried both of them. The icing is great, even if a bit too much. The cake itself, however, tasted good but was tasting a little bit like a box cake base. Not bad, but not 5 Star deserving. We will try the ice cream next time. read more
