The shop also has other sweets like candy and coffee. If you want to hang out there's places to sit inside and outside. So first let's establish that I went here craving some dark chocolate and I am not a fan of milk chocolate. They had multiple DARK chocolate truffles to chose from. I get a few, ( dark chocolate mint, dark chocolate salted caramel, dark chocolate truffle and dark chocolate orange truffle ). I also got some dark chocolate almond bark. These are not gourmet truffles. Which is fine. My problem was the truffles were primarily milk chocolate with a dark chocolate shell. The store itself wasn't busy at all, and was staffed by a singular young woman who was very polite. I got myself a few pieces of candy (3) and though their sold by weight, I ended up spending $15.00, (2 truffles and a Large pecan turtle). Asked for unsweetened tea and was given a very sweet tea. Staff insisted that it was unsweetened, then said they switched to a powdered tea, but that they don't add any additional sugar. Our kids wanted flavors like Superman because it looked cool, but they wouldn't do samples because of Covid. (How is you handing me a little sample spoon any different than you handing me an ice cream? I'm not giving it back to you!) there was no list of what flavors in the ice cream. I'm updating this post on recent we're going to the shop. I went with some family and noticed that the gelato and me being from Italy wasn't even real Salotto I was very disappointed for when I first came to the shop it was very nice and cute pleasant place to be. As well as upon ordering some chocolate they seemed very still and old it could only be described as biting into a hard rock even some of the gummy's seem to be out of date you're better off chewing your own fingernails. A lot of The negative reviews on here are in fact correct. The positive ones are written by employees. I'm always want to give a place a chance and I gave want to second one and it failed me miserably. For anyone wondering if the tourist trap everything is overpriced when you can easily just go to Walmart and get the same quality or better even for a lower price. Employees are decent one when I went in had the poorest attitude. I hope the owners see this and can make a change for the better. If not It is very sad to see this place running into the ground. Mount Dora advertised Trick-or-Treat event from 6-8 and we get there at 7:30 only to have the rude employee tell my two little girls they ran out of candy. Hello!!!!! You are a candy shop with candy everywhere. You couldn't find something to give them. It wasn't even crowded. We are locals that live in town. What a shame.
