I stumbled upon this place while looking up for korean fried chicken in doordash. I like the option of trying a little bit of everything so I ordered the soy garlic chicken box. Google map and yelp told me its inside the market. I was worried it's gonna be hard to find but it wasn't. You make a left after entering the building to find the small food court and kkoma chicken will be on the left side. Owner was very nice. Talking to him reminds me of my dad. Lol food was very fresh. Chicken was crispy and piping hot (and yes, survived the 10 min drive back to the hotel). I like the flavor of soy garlic too, it's 100% there but not overwhelming. Mandu is nothing special flavor-wise but also fresh and crispy. And OMG can we talk about the japchae. Usually not my favorite banchan because I'm used to cold, flavorless japchae. Not this one! They serve it warm. And its flavorful! Such a welcomed change. I was expecting small portion but it was decent. If I add another serving of rice I would easily make 2 meals out of it. I tried Kkoma Chicken inside Arirang Market today and honestly... it was SO good. We ordered the large wing combo, half Soy Garlic and half Sweet & Spicy. Our food came out in under 15 minutes, which already impressed me. We took it to go, and even after a 20+ minute drive home, the wings were still crispy, even though the sauce was fully soaked in. That's how you know the batter is done right. The owners are a husband-and-wife team, and they were incredibly kind. It was our first time there and we didn't know how ordering worked, but they patiently explained everything. For anyone new: Boneless = Korean-style chicken, but without the bone Bone-in = American-style wings, but with K-chicken batter and sauce. We chose bone-in wings, but what's unique is that they use a Korean-style batter on American wings. The wings are bigger than typical wing sizes and very meaty. You can also tell they use clean oil--no strong chicken smell at all, and the chicken tasted very fresh. For Flavor review, Soy Garlic is similar to Wingstop's Korean BBQ, but a little soy sauce based, no gingerly and without the heat. For Sweet & Spicy, this was the standout. If you've had Korean dakgangjeong, this tastes very similar--rich gochujang-based sauce, not overly spicy, but super flavorful. They give plenty of sauce, and dipping the wings into it makes the flavor even deeper and more addictive. I honestly don't think Wingstop has anything comparable to this flavor. This is a must-try. They also offer cup-size portions, which is great if you want to try flavors without committing to a full order. We ordered wings this time, but they also sell chicken bento boxes with reasonable prices. Our family is really happy to have found this place. You can tell the owners care about quality and are running an honest business with good ingredients. If you're stopping by Arirang Market, I highly recommend checking out Kkoma Chicken. Head inside A R Supermarket and turn left and you'll find Kkoma Chicken in the food court. Genuinely friendly owner will explain the menu and make suggestions. They have fried chicken, stir fried chicken, and soup dishes. I ordered the boneless fried chicken lunch box which comes with three pieces of chicken, three fried mondu dumplings, japchae, rice, and both cabbage and radish kimchi. Since it was my first time the owner suggested I tried each flavor. So my chicken was original, soy garlic, and sweet & spicy. Food court was packed to the brim. The only space left was the counter against the window which was filthy. I never saw anybody cleaning the seating area. The person next to me was seriously nuts too. I wanted to move but there was nowhere to go! The owner brought my food out when ready and provided me a complimentary bottle of water. The meal smelled wonderful and was a huge portion for the price. The chicken was perfection! Crunchy batter yet totally moist and tender chicken. The original was my favorite followed by the soy garlic. Sweet and spicy was tasty but I didn't like the thick honey texture of the sauce. All the sides were great too. Highly recommend checking out this mom and pop chicken storefront!! We ordered the soy honey wings and these wings were SO freaking good. We honestly were not expecting much. We saw this was newly opened in the food court after grocery shopping and the warm smile from the owner made us want to support. The chicken came out hot and juicy, with a perfect crispy putter batter that was covered in a super delicious glaze. The owner gave us plastic gloves and was so incredibly sweet to our two boys. Honestly they would be 5/5 for their chicken quality/flavor alone but their warm hospitality made a lasting impression. This is a perfect place for a casual but delicious meal. You order and the sit wherever there's a table available I love that they have a lunch box set :) it includes three boneless chicken, rice, japchae, potsticker, radish, and kimchi - portions are pretty big! This place is so freaking good! Please come here!!! My friend brought me here a few weeks ago and I was blown away. Before this, I believed Korean fried chicken just wasn't my thing. I'd had Korean fried chicken at other restaurants didn't care much for the flavor profiles/seasoning. It always felt too sweet or the flavor was just not my cup of tea, and the crispiness never seemed to hit right. This place does it right! I think it might just be my favorite fried chicken (competing with the first spot with Tenkatori, but they both are S-tier in their respective ways). The chicken is super juicy! The crunch on the chicken is super satisfying! The soy garlic flavor is really, really delicious. The sweet and spicy is good, but would like if it was a bit saltier or spicier? Falls a little short of the soy garlic, in my opinion. I legit went here on a Saturday with a friend, got home and told my husband we should go the next day because I really wanted him to try it, and then we went on Sunday, haha! The lady who served me both times was super kind! And asked us if we liked it both times I went! And hooked me up with a complimentary water bottle the second day. Fantastic, friendliness, courtesy, kind and warm service from a couple that run the stall. It is inside the AR market, at the food hall area. The menu is simple and most are street foods and with good prices for the portion. I ordered 3 pieces of sweet & spicy fried chicken box set (with 3 pieces of fried dumpling & japchae and 2 generous scoops of white rice). It was delish and it comes with kimchi & radish pickles. Just yum!!! The chicken is tender & juicy plus stil crispy even with the wet sauce. I ate all of them except one scoop of rice...too much. Also he gave me an extra piece of chicken (4 instead of 3, how kind & very nice). What makes this chicken place incomparable to other Korean fried chicken places is the flexibility of the amount you can get and the juiciest chicken you will ever have. More juicer than Kyochon and Bonchon. You have to be careful when biting into their chicken, the juice will drip down your chin and onto the table. I was watching my friend eat and the juice had a projectile! It was that juicy. Furthermore, this little shop is run by an old couple, and they make sure you are acknowledged and will ask if the food is good or not. This is located in a Korean shopping store (AR), and honestly some of the deals here are better than h-mart sometimes if you really look. There are many tables to sit at and usually clean for you to sit at. I just tried this place for the first time today and 1. The couple that owns this shop are so kind, I would've gone back either way just to support them! 2. The chicken was PERFECTLY seasoned and fried. It wasn't greasy at all but it was juicy and I didn't feel crappy afterwards like how I usually do when I eat fried chicken and they use good quality dark meat 3. I got the chicken box and it was so full and worth it with 3 gyoza, 3 big chicken pieces, rice, & japchae, along with the kimchi and radish. 4. The deobboki also hit the spot. 5. However, Kkoma Chicken is one of the few exceptions I will make the drive!
