Is this what dreams are made of? Intoxicating aroma of caramelized pork, umami flavor, juicy meat,…read moreand perfectly charred edges? Must be! The pork jowl and pork belly are DIVINE - clearly high quality. Workers hand us a sticker with specs about the preparation and aging process, which is oddly charming and shows how much pride they take in their meat. The staff even cooks everything for us, so we can sit back and stuff our faces. The sides are great too. Tangy pickled or fermented veggies, sweet pineapple, mushrooms, and soups help cut through all that richness from the fat. The pork and kimchi soup especially hits - it's super comforting and balances out the meal. This is also a great alternative if you're craving BBQ but don't have the stomach space for AYCE. These portions leave us full and satisfied every time. Overall, an amazing spot for a casual, pork-centric feast!

Arrived at 5: 20pm and there was only two parties ahead of us. Not bad! We were seated and from the way the table was setup, it gave an authentic Korean restaurant vibe. We went ahead and ordered their Combo B meal ($69) which had three types of meat, kimchi soup, and a soup of our choice. Restaurant staff were friendly and attentive. Pork Jowl tasted tender and the cooks were able to prepare it just right. Skirt meat was also tasty. Portions were just perfect for a party of 2. We had a great time dining in here. Will definitely come back again.

Even…read morethough I think they're mainly known for their pork broth soups, we went with the classic beef short rib soup, and we left very satisfied! The short ribs were huge and incredibly tender. I barely had to touch them before the meat was basically falling off the bone. The broth had a deep, comforting flavor without being overly salty (which is a blessing to enjoy the flavor). We also ordered the pork cutlet on the side, and honestly, the portion was massive for like a quick lunch. Crispy, filling, and definitely enough to take leftovers home! The banchan was simple but solid too, especially the big slices of cucumber and daikon, along with pieces of pancake on the side. The atmosphere is very down-to-earth with Korean signage and an artsy wall, no fancy décor or over-the-top presentation. Service is straightforward and efficient. You're not here to be pampered. You're here for hot, delicious comfort food done right.

Ambiance? Just mom and pop restaurant fell. Service was good. We got the Dried Pollack Soup (북어국) and Dumpling & Rice Cake Soup (떡만두국). Pollock soup was hearty, clean tasting and exceeded the expectation. Dumpling soup was very rich and filled with lot of dumplings. Side dishes were delicious too. We were so full, we didn't even bother ordering anything else. Will definitely come back to this location.

Man was I surprised by this one!…read more Dawa Kitchen is a delicious spot nestled in the corner of the plaza. FOOD: The Katsu Curry is easily the best deal on the menu for sharing. For $25 you get a huge chicken katsu with curry pairing. The katsu was crispy, hot, and fresh when it came out. Very tasty! The curry itself is good, but doesn't have the same punch of flavor as other curry katsu places. Still good though! This dish could definitely feed 2 people. We also opted for the Ddeokbokki. This dish had great flavor and the rice cakes were cooked perfectly! Just as a heads up, if you are used to Ddeokbokki having extra's like fish cake and cheese, this does not come with it unless added. Overall, for value and flavor this is great! PARKING: Parking is tight in the complex and I would recommend getting there early just in case there's none available. WAIT/AMBIANCE: This place was packed when we arrived with a clear waitlist of 5+ parties. Try to get on the Yelp waitlist ahead of time to make sure you get seated in a timely manner. You can also look to make a reservation as that was also faster for me! Overall ambiance is good, and the restaurant was playing some Justin Bieber! DRINKS: For a casual dining place we opted to get soju and a beer as it was $10 per bottle. Also not too bad of a deal to pair with your meal! Overall would recommend this place! Delicious and great value!

Cons: - everything was a bit sweet - the pork katsu was a bit bland as well as the mac salad side dish - the pork katsu sort of peeled away from the meat because of the heat of the dish overall: - great service, big portions, would visit again! just beware if you want a spicer version of these dishes and a stronger taste. the katsu could have been a bit crisper as well, I think the bibimbap was done very well. the dishes are served in a stone plate keeping them hot through the meal

Dawa Kitchen - The front half of the restaurant is not huge, so avoid coming with a large group unless you don't mind splitting up.

Went to BCD Tofu House knowing just enough about Korean tofu soup to be dangerous. I've been once…read morebefore, but I'm still very much in the "watch the people next to me and copy their homework" phase of the experience. The meal starts with what feels like an endless lineup of little side dishes, a fried fish, rice in a scorching hot stone bowl, and then the bubbling tofu soup (medium spice for me) arrives like it's angry at the table. I ordered the bulgogi combo (C2) and everything was flavorful, comforting, and honestly just fun to eat. OK maybe a few too many onions for me. The stone pot rice situation was an adventure on its own. They ask you if you want them to pour hot water into the bowl to loosen the crispy rice stuck to the sides. I tried it. Felt very authentic. Still not fully convinced my rookie self handled it correctly, but we survived. What I liked most was the atmosphere and adventure. You can tell this place has a loyal following and there's a reason Yelp absolutely loves it. It feels authentic without being intimidating, and the portions are no joke. I took home enough leftovers for round two the next day. If you've only done Korean BBQ before, this is a completely different experience and definitely worth trying. Bring friends, come hungry, and don't be afraid to look a little confused your first time. Apparently that's part of the experience. Easy 5 stars for me. P. S. Quick shout out to the wait staff they are super attentive, smiling, and helpful. Maybe they could sense my menu awkwardness

Kaju is so goooood!!!!…read more As a previous BCD regular, we discovered Kaju through some friends who were living in OC and we never looked back. Their tofu soup is always so flavorful and high quality. Their kimchi is also some of the best that I've tried as banchan! The service is straightforward and quick. They have a waitlist at the front that speeds things up during busy lunch and dinner rushes. The place is super home-y and cozy. I like how there is a ton of seating as I've never waited too long for a table. Can't wait to go back!
