Don't ever go here!! Red flags the entire time!! I went for a gel fill and deluxe pedi. They ran out of the polish that they did in my feet. ( I wanted it to match) I'm wondering why they didn't tell me to choose another color. I left with my nails not done. My toes were done horribly nails all different lengths and I paid for callus removal and they didn't do that. They didn't put a hot towel on feet and noticed they re use buffer and files! I had to go to another salon to have my nails finished! have myTotally gross. Do not go to this salon. They suck !!!! read more

I asked not to file my natural nails down to do a gel manicure, but they filed my natural nail bed down so low I had to contacted my pcp because I thought I had an infection. My nail beds were sore for over a week. My nails broke and cracked after a week with gel. I won't be back. read more

One of the best nail salons I've been to! They did a great job taking off my dip acrylic and made sure that it wasn't painful for me. Zen shaped and painted my nails exactly how I wanted. I like this place a lot as their quality of work (I only get pedicures here, $20) is really good, and I always walk out with happily painted toes that make me smile whenever I look down at them! I never feel the need to leave bad reviews but in this case...felt it was necessary. Got an acrylic fill with black gel on Thursday and by Sunday the gel is already peeling and chipping. In general, my technician was courteous and friendly but the quality just isn't there for me. The acrylic is clunky, uneven, and bumpy. The nail shapes are all uneven and not the shape I politely kept asking for (girl next to me also had to keep telling her technician of faults in her nail shape). My technician kept taking the nail dremel all the way to my cuticles to the point where they are damaged and cut. And as mentioned already, the gel was chipping by day one around the edges of my nail and today it began to legitimately peel off. $40 is not worth a bad manicure that only lasts one day. read more

I really like this place! The owners are husband and wife and they are the sweetest people. I've gone here 4 times total so far and every time someone greets me right away, if they are busy they are very apologetic and will probably ask you to come back in 20 minutes. It's a small place so seating is limited! But its totally worth coming back! No joke, but I think their teenage son works there and he gives the best pedicures!!! Your feet/toes will still look amazing 3 weeks later! Too bad he doesn't do manicures too :( the place is very clean, color selection is good they carry opi, essie, zoya. I was visiting San Fran so I was not familiar with the businesses out there. So I yelped it and kitty's popped up, first place, 4 stars! So I figured this should be good. Boy was I wrong! I felt rushed, the way she did my nails was strange and I kept asking for square shaped and she kept doing round. Then to make matters worse my pedicure had WAY too many coats so the paint was smeared 2 hours later. Overall I spent $70!!! Waste! Because I had to go somewhere else to get everything fixed -_- super annoyed!!! Oh and 2 days later a nail broke, in all the years and places I've gone I've never had that happen. Kitty's is just a barely okay nail salon. I have been to Kitty's I think 3 times now. I keep trying to like it because they must be doing something right if notoriously picky Yelpers are giving it 4 stars. I guess I still don't know what that something is. I came in the other day for a mani/pedi. I had gotten pedicures before, both being rushed, mediocre experiences. This time, however, the nail tech drew blood when she was removing my toe cuticles, not cool. Additionally, when my spa tub was being warmed up, I noticed an oily film on top of the water, gross. The man who was working on my fingers kept pulling my arms forward closer to him. He didn't say a word, except to answer a personal cell phone call, for which I was stuck in an uncomfortable position for the duration of. I think the last straw came when I was on vacation this Saturday and noticed that my pedicure had chipped - I got my pedicure on Thursday. Coincidentally, my manicure seems to be doing okay, but a pedicure should not chip for at least 10-14 days. I'm giving two stars for the cleanliness of the place (minus my tub, it actually is a decently clean space). Also, the price isn't bad, and for the most part, the people are friendly, though, that's not enough to bring me back. Sorry, Kitty's, but I tried. read more

Kitty's was adorable. It's a small shop, consisting of just 3 basins and a series of comfy chairs. This was my first time visiting, and I am glad that I made reservations. It was a Friday, and people were dropping in and finding out they had to wait for service. the staff was very polite and accommodating. Kitty's was clean and well-appointed. My shellac pedi was quick and well-done. I loved the fact that they used lemon on my friend's feet, during her pedicure and that they included orange exfoliate scrub. I really needed my nails did, and I just moved to the area. I walked by here, and asked if they would take me. They were very friendly and did! I picked out my nail polish, sat down and they went to work. They listened to what I wanted, asked questions along the way, and made sure I was happy with their work throughout the nail session. I moved to the nob hill neighborhood 9 months ago and have been continually searching for a nail salon that meets my standards. After finding a couple that I thought might work they would eventually disappoint. Kitty's has consistently done an excellent job and they are always extremely friendly. My feet look great even before they put the polish on. It might be a dollar or two more than some of the places in the neighborhood, but it is definitely worth it, the quality is way better. I found this to be just an average nail salon. Nothing to write home about. I got my old gel manicure taken off here, and got regular polish put on. Over the phone, they had quoted me a lower price for taking off the polish than what they tried to charge me after I had gotten it done. That was disappointing, but in the end they honored what they had said 1.5 hours earlier over the phone. The manicure and pedicure I got was fine. Not spectacular, so I probably will stick with other nail spots that have proven to be better (KT Nails does a splendid job and they are only a couple blocks away). read more

Fantastic color selection, friendly service, clean shop, and my nails look amazing! The massage chairs are a fun addition, too; I got a nice little surprise when I discovered one of the settings was INTENSE BUTT MASSAGE. My manicurist was very attentive. She gave me a huge stack of trashy celebrity gossip magazines, and as she painted my fingernails, would intermittently turn the pages for me. It made me feel fancy and like an asshole at the same time, couldn't tell you why. It was busy when I got there, so busy that the staff eventually started telling drop-ins to come back later (not their fault, it's a tiny shop and all the seats were taken), so it's probably a good idea to call ahead. Been wanting to write this review for quite awhile. Went in there a couple years ago for an acrylic fill and it was the absolute worst experience I have had in 30 years of having my nails done. I left with bloody stumps and acrylic that was as uneven as the streets of San Francisco. Seriously, I was able to pull it off with my fingers. This is one of the best nail places I've been to for the price range ($10-15 for mani / $15-20 for pedi) There is one other better place in the city but that one costs $60 for pedi and it's in a spa inside a hotel. Anyhow, you get great value here at Kitty's. Usually for a $11 manicure, other places put in minimal effort. But Kitty's nails does a thorough job every step of the process from filing your nails to applying the color. The staff is super attentive -- I came in during a somewhat busy afternoon and the owner cut my nails for me! Someone else gave me magazines and even turned the pages for me. The girl who did my nails did a fantastic job. This may sound a bit strange but no other place in the city files my nails better than this place does (love the shape) and they do a thorough job at cleaning your nails an cuticles -- I was actually quite impressed by their meticulousness. They use legit nail polish here (OPI and Essie) and if you chip your nail when it hasn't dried they'll fix it for you. I enjoyed my experience here and think I'm going to become a frequent here since I live close by and it's the best nail place in the city in my opinion. read more
