I've been meaning to try this place for a while and must say the cheesecake is very aesthetically pleasing! They rotate some flavors seasonally and there is a wide range from fruit flavors like key lime to red velvet brownie. I tried the strawberry cheesecake and it was creamy and delicious! 8 Mile cheesecake. While reviewing Detroit on Yelp, Kitty's immediately jumped out when I noticed the multi-colored cheesecake (Superman cheesecake.) I stored it in the Detroit collection and it became a must stop kind of place. So glad I visited! First and foremost- the people were SO EXTREMELY friendly! I got quite a Detroit welcome and was inside chatting for about 20 minutes! They educated me on the superman phenom in that area of the world (it comes in cake, ice cream, etc...) They even let me taste a sliver of superman cake as an introduction for free. They wouldn't tell me exactly what the flavor is but I appreciate their protecting this regional classic. I leant all about how she was trying to get Taffer to help her tune up her business and she has an eagerness and desire to grow the business! I shared some ideas and she was very engaged in our conversation. I was able to watch some locals come in and see that Kitty treats them life family! Heck, she made me feel good! I ordered the strawberry shortcake. It was delicious. My one piece of criticism, the crust was soft and I like it firmer. I'm routing for Kitty's! read more

My mother-in-law is not a huge fan of cakes, and her birthday was coming up. We wanted something to have at her birthday party which would add to the birthday celebrations and that she would love. After spending some time doing research on the best cheesecakes in Detroit, I came across Kitty's Cheesecakes... And was immediately drawn to the Sweet Potato Cheesecake. They have lots of amazing flavours to choose from, with beautiful colour options to match - yet and still, the Sweet Potato was what I was most drawn to. I made the order over the phone early in the week, which was super easy & we were given very clear instructions on when we could pick-up the cheesecake on the Saturday! Our entire family could not have been happier with the cheesecake! It was soooooo incredibly delicious. The base had the perfect crunch and you could tell that it was freshly made and most importantly - made with love. Next time I'm in Detroit, I would love to try more of the options that they have with cakes as well as cheesecakes!! Amazing service, kind and professional staff and management, and DELICIOUS cheesecakes that are moreish!!! read more

Had the pleasure of meeting the ladies of Kitty's Cheesecake & More at a recent Yelp Elite Event as they were one of the vendors. The ladies were amazing, great personalities and customer service. They had samples of literally all the cheesecakes they offer and I made sure you grab every single one! Lol Each one was delicious! The Banana Pudding Cheesecake stood out the most, it was phenomenal! Had me clapping and humming church hymns it was so good! Must try. read more

For our first visit to Kitty's, we picked up some cheesecake slices to have at home after our New Year's Eve dinner. THE BEST CHEESECAKE! Not to mention so many creative flavor options and truly nice people helping you at the counter. This is an absolute gem of a business. read more

I don't even usually like cheesecake but I gave the banana a try. I'm sold! I met these lovely ladies at an event. The cheesecakes were amazing! The team was very fun and friendly. Now I want to try everything! read more

The purple rain cheesecake was delicious! What lovely ladies running this place! Felt so at home and welcome. I highly recommend.

Last month (Feb), I was at an event and someone brought in a few cheesecakes from Kitty's Cheesecake. I had a slice of banana pudding cheesecake and it was wonderful. It tasted just like banana pudding! It wasn't too rich or too sweet. It was so good that I brought my home my husband a slice. I told him to cancel his cake lady and let's order from this establishment instead. He agreed! We went in (the next day) and my husband bought maybe 6 or 7 slices, they were about $7 each. About 2 weeks later, my husband suggested that we stop by there once I got off work. While at work, I had anticipated which flavors I was going to get. We went in and proceeded to buy 4 slices, but I wanted one more. She (Mrs. Kitty) began to tell me that I can't pick my slice, because they had a cake slicer and so every slice is the same. So, I told her I didn't want the slice. if my husband wasn't with me, I would've left everything. She would never get another dollar of mines. It's unfortunately, because her cheesecakes are delicious, but she left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Glad to have been able to experience kitties cheesecake I'm not a huge fan of cheesecake, but they had so many options that I was able to find something that I liked. I got around three different cheesecakes and let some family try them, and they love them Kitty cheesecake does not have a lot of seating at all so people normally come in get their cheesecake and go when you first drive by you'll see that there isn't really parking but you can park right in front of the store on the side of the road and that's what the staff members told me if you love cheesecake definitely stop here and pick your flavors. They definitely have cheesecake for everybody. The interior design could use some upgrading or not, it gave a feel of back in the day. Definitely a hidden delicacy. Thank you for the cheesecake!! read more

Our family ordered three cheesecakes for Thanksgiving. Needless to say there wasn't a slice left. The cheesecakes were absolutely delicious fresh and we also had them pre-cut... this place is a hidden gem... my favorite was the German chocolate cake with cheesecake in the middle, and the peach cobbler and the sweet potato cheesecake OMG delicious The service was 10/10!!! I got there right before closing. The place was clean and it's still lingered with sweetness in the air. THANK YOU read more

My first experience at Kitty's was a great one! Though the Lions cheesecake I went in for was sold out (of course it was, everyone wants a Lions cheesecake!), There were plenty of other interesting flavors to try and the family was pleased. Strawberry shortcake was our particular favorite. What impressed me most, though was the high standard of service. Friendly and professional, the Kitty's staff has all the best hallmarks of a family owned business. I will definitely be back! read more

I wish I would've taken photos of her set up but this place was at a yelp event recently and she had cheesecake samples. I wish I would have tried all of them. I tried quite a few of them and they were very delicious. I really don't like cheesecake. I've only had cheesecake a few times and for whatever reason I haven't liked it in the past but her cheesecake was delicious. Her decorations and table set up was immaculate and very beautiful and inviting her and her staff were very nice and inviting every cheesecake sample or cheesecake bite that I had was really delicious. They were very nice and inviting I definitely would buy cheesecake bites from her in the future. If you don't already have a sampler pack you should make one because I would buy that over one entire cheesecake any day just getting cheesecake bites a little bit of this and a little bit of that would be perfect. I think that's what I liked about her booth. The best is that it was a couple of bites, so I took several different cheesecake bites. The best ones by far were the fruity pebbles and the purple rain. I wish I would have tried the strawberry and some of the other ones. The Oreo was also very good and the sweet potato was good. There were so many more that I wanted to try, but my stomach didn't have room. read more

The food here is delicious and the ladies were wonderful and answered all our questions promptly and the store was very neat.

I stopped by on a day they were shut down for the holidays. The holiday hours were not updated. There was a paper signage on the door indicating holiday hours. From what I could see, the establishment looked clean and well organized. I heard the cheese cake was phenomenal and really wanted to try it. I traveled from downriver to try. I will stop by if ever I am in the area again. I based my ratings off of word of mouth positive reviews. read more

Looking for very good, local business cheesecakes? This is the place. Where by the slice which is nice, that way you can try it first, or a whole one, their variety has many many flavors I never would have thought of. They also bake cakes as well, and offer slices or whole too. I would just recommend ordering ahead of time if you want one. Kitty took care of us, great customer service and very personable. Will definitely be back! read more

I walked into Kitty's while they were still setting up and was greeted so warmly right away. I didn't preorder, but they still managed to get me a Superman cheesecake. A total must-have and 100% worth the 40+ minute drive for this incredible cheesecake! Thank you!!! read more

Mother and daughter run operation here. The vibe here is incredible remember to ask for kitty. The cheesecake selection is the best I have ever seen. I swear to you that this place gets a lot of customers. I lost count at 5 as one by one they kept walking in the door. The purple rain cheesecake is my favorite grape tasty cheesecake. The only thing this place is lacking is just coffee. I guarantee you will come here again and again. Just make sure you give yourself some time around the holidays. That is all. Came for the yelp event. Location is along the road and may be hard to spot but there are signs in the sidewalk leading to the shop and parking lot. Ms Kitty was friendly and personable when we stopped to sample the cheesecake for a Yelp event. We enjoyed the strawberry brownie cheesecake, but what really caught my attention were the mile high cakes on the back counter. If I make my way back, I'm definitely going to try the cake. The interior is cute, but I would recommend getting your dessert to go and enjoying it as a midnight snack. read more

Kitty's is fantastic! The perfect place to stop for a special sweet treat. With a plethora of varieties including strawberry topped, chocolate varieties, superman, red velvet, peach, and my favorite, banana pudding, there is a flavor to suit everyone. The cheesecake is creamy and dreamy. I usually stop by for one or two flavors by the slice, but also available are whole cheesecakes, cakes, ice cream and cobblers. Oftentimes I can't wait to get home to eat it. I find myself stopping at red lights to have a forkfull. It's conveniently located on 8 Mile Road across the road from the Meijer strip mall. Great prices and customer service. I highly recommend! read more

It's a non-descript shop on 8 mile, more or less across from meijer. Cars speeding by in excess of 50mph. Only street parking available. The Snickers cheesecake is super light and airy. It's not a thick or dense cheesecake at all, not what I am used to at all. The cheesecake has cream cheese in it, but it's almost too subtlety dosed with cream cheese for some odd reason. I really can't decide if I like it or not. It feels oddly mushy but not bad, just an odd texture overall. It's not my thing in the end. My husband enjoyed it more than me at least. Their most popular is the strawberry shortcake, not my thing, but I believe they. $5 for the snickers cheesecake slice. read more

Overall, Kitty's bakes a pretty decent cheesecake. Each cheesecake flavor has its own unique characteristic which generates the need to try them all! What makes Kitty's unique is how they mash together different cakes/flavors and layer their cheesecakes uniquely each with their own signature characteristic or flavor. My Ranking (so far): 1. Cherry crumble - It just crumbles so perfectly on the top it just is amazing. Cherries in cake weren't special, be really really nice if they used Luxardo cherries. I think it be a prize winning cheesecake if they did that. 2. Cinnabon - Center layer is the Cinnabon layer sandwiches by cheese cake. The Cinnabon layer is less density and is almost like whipped custard. 3. Strawberry/Cherry - Good cheesecake flavor but nothing special just fruit jam topped cheesecake. 4. Oreo/Superman - Oreo: Oreos are in the cheesecake like a full Oreo. Which ultimately is like a layer of Oreo cookie on ur cheesecake. Was meh... suppose was good to try but I rather eat an Oreo or a different cake. Superman: Was my first Kitty's cheesecake I ever had due to being intrigued by the vibrant colors. It tastes just like Superman ice cream flavor which is a tad on the sweet end for me, especially when you keep eating it. I wouldn't do a whole cake, unless it was a birthday party. It's like buying a pint of Superman or blue moon ice cream the first bites are great and then it just ends up sitting in your freezer for years. 5. Strawberry shortcake - What I thought would be my favorite ended up being my least. Was way too sweet, especially the red cheesecake parts. The artificial strawberry flavor tastes just like the shortcake ice cream bars. Great? Nope, ends up making the cheesecake taste cheap and artificial and ruins a good thing IMO. The only thing I really don't like about Kitty's is their crust along the perimeters of their cheesecakes. The crust part of the cheesecake is a lot thicker & has more of a bread or cake texture than I'm used to. Since I'm not a fan of bread nor cake, I am truly disappointed with how thick the crust is in relative to the whole slice. It's like over a third of the cheesecake is crust. I'm read more

A few years ago we found Kitty's by accident. I had a cheesecake craving and we were in the area. Didn't even check the online ratings, we just went. And we were extremely happy with such an awesome find! And given the current cream cheese shortage, I'm so glad Kitty's has been consistently putting out at least a dozen different kinds of cheesecakes everyday at fair prices. Heck, I'd pay more if I had to, it's just that good! For Christmas, instead of getting the usual cake, I said I wanted to get one of everything from Kitty's.
