This store used to be a charming staple in our small community--a true general store that felt welcoming, personal, and cared for under the previous owner, Brian. We were in there almost every day. But since the new ownership took over, everything that made it special has been lost. The focus now seems to be purely on profit. Prices have skyrocketed, the breakfast burritos (which used to be amazing) have been completely changed and are now barely edible, and we were just sold (on June 3rd) hot dog and hamburger buns that we later discovered had expired-- hot dog buns that had expired in April and hamburger buns in May. Unfortunately, we only realized it after eating them. The changes haven't just affected the quality--they've changed the entire feel of the place. The building and retaining walls have been painted in hideous, jarring colors. Spray-painted arrows now cover the pavement, and there's a strange year-round display out front with a plastic angel and palm tree that make the place feel tacky and confusing instead of quaint. To top it off, they're hand-feeding deer in front of the store. My husband literally had to walk around the deer and the person feeding it just to get inside. What once felt like a local gem now feels like just another convenience store. Cold, impersonal, and disappointing. There are even concerning rumors that a makeshift storage area in the back is being used as a place to live, which raises serious health and safety concerns. This is a regular stop on my bike ride - we usually stop to refill water bottles, use the bathroom, and buy sweet and salty provisions. water refill is a regular water sink - not a soda fountain. One unisex bathroom that is pretty clean and decent selection of snacks. I've seen the taco counter and all the yelpers talking about the tacos - makes me want to go when it's taco time! read more

BEST TACO TUESDAY IN ALL COLORADO.... My husband and I went today to enjoy TACO TUESDAY.....we each ordered the Combo (one fish taco, one chicken, one carnitas). I cannot say which taco was the best.......each one better than the other one....very abundant, delicious tortillas (I had the corn, my husband had the flour ones) and they garnish each taco with fresh lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsas.......THE BEST. Brian and his Team make an excellent cooking......really delicious and they are very customer oriented....friendly and nice. Everything is very clean, very fresh, deliciously and previously marinated.....yummie!!!!! Nice place to stop by and have your tacos while sitting there. Kittredge, Colorado- Perfect for those that live in the boonies! We have a home in Indian Hills and it's always a production to get to a market; the closest is a 29 minute drive-or so I thought! This mix between a gas station and a general store saved the day with last minute recipe needs. There is a small selection of fresh produce and what's really neat is the kiosk that daily prepares fresh burritos, salsa, and guac. I love guac and am a self-proclaimed guac snob with high standards. Honestly, I thought this was slightly below average- it had too many spices that overpowered the natural flavors of the avocado and onion. For the new-to-guac person, it may be fine. I'm eager to try the freshly made-to-Oder veggie tacos during a future visit. They also have carne asada, chicken, fish, and combo options available. The staff are stellar. It's rare that somebody asks, "How are you?" while attentively and genuinely awaiting a response. It's nice to see some human in humans. I guess I stuck out like a sore thumb (weird phrase isn't it?) because I was asked if it was my first time to the store and was warmly welcomed. read more

My husband and I were out for a drive and stopped in for information. What a friendly place and with really good fresh home made breakfast burritos. I understand their Tacos served on Tuesday are also fresh and really good. We were told of places where we could go to get good pictures and eat our burritos. Best burritos ever!! Incredible choices of breakfast burritos (chorizo!) in addition to their regular burrito selections (carne asada, yum!). My husband can't get enough of their green salsa which comes as a side with the burritos. Their fish taco's are also delicious but aren't a daily item. We make sure to stock up on burritos on our way through Kittredge every time we go to Colorado for vacation :) read more

Stopped here in Sept. of 2014 for gas, walked in to pay and the aroma hit me in the face.I asked the cashier, that's not the hot dogs in the rollers that smell so goood, She said it was taco Tuesday IT WAS AMAZING!!, I cant believe how nice Brian was telling about the fresh ingredients.
