The barista was super friendly and gave me some suggestions, and I ended up with the Nashville Hoodie, his favorite drink. He said it tasted like golden grahams and it really did! I am not sure what happened but the mini cupcakes that we paid $10 for (4 total)were the size of a quarter. Not only small but dry as the desert. No flavor and fell apart from being so dry. We are so disappointed in the quality of this product we heard so many great things about. Sorry but we wont be returning for more dry overpriced cupcakes. I'm a semi supporter of kitties, they have some pretty good baked goods. It's a great place for warm weather to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or cocktail. My one issue ,and it's a big issue that stops me from going unless it's the most convenient, is their coffee is way tooooooo strong. Stumptown makes a bunch of other coffees that are lighter - get some other coffee! But I'll still go back for those jam biscuits, because I love those biscuits. read more

Cute and delicious! I was heading to work and pass this place on my route, so I decided to stop in! I snagged a lavender latte (yum) and a wild berry scone. This scone tho - soft, tangy, fluffy, so good. I usually don't go for a scone but this one caught my eye and I'm glad it did. Unlike many scones I've had before, it wasn't hard and didn't fall apart into little hard pieces. The lavender latte was great and was adorned with a classic latte heart which is always a nice surprise. Met a friend for afternoon coffee on Kittie's shady patio. My decaf latte was beautiful and delicious! I'm impressed that Kittie's uses Trickling Springs whole milk, which is pricier but the cows are grass-fed (non-GMO), and the milk tastes great (I use it at home). read more

I went this week for a meeting and was in search of something healthier than the egg sandwich on everything biscuit I love. They suggested the baked oatmeal. Unsure of what that was but trusting in them from past experiences, I ordered it. What arrived at my table was prettier than any oatmeal I'd ever seen! A slice of thick blueberry oatmeal in a pool of fresh milk. It was perfection with my latte, artistic foam heart and all. The surroundings are fresh, comfortable, and inspiring. I was initially really excited about Kittie's-- in fact, I was one of their first customers during their soft opening. Fast forward, I feel like every single time I've been lately I've been disappointed. Their cakes are often sold out, the selection is quite limited and to be honest, they aren't great. Today I got a piece of lemon poppy seed cake ($4.50). It was an end piece and the outside of the cake was over cooked. I brought it up to the counter after having a couple of bites-- and I didn't feel like the people that worked there cared. I've been a fan of Kittie's for several years but today when I went in they gave the illusion that they were protecting customers from COVID-19 but were they really concerned or was it a show? I placed my order and was told not to touch the iPad to check out but that they'd do it for me so as not to have me touch the screen. The barista checking me out proceeded to touch the screen for me and sign my name with black gloves on. Then immediately after, stuck their hand, "with same said glove", into the glass case to lift my oatmeal Sammy out! What??? No paper was used, just the same germ filled glove! Next proceeded to make my biscuit sandwich and picked it up with the SAME glove that had touched everything else! Yup, no changing or cleansing the gloves in between customers but touching the food directly and all the equipment, including the pay screen with the dirty gloves. Great chocolate chip cookies! Pricey but well worth it. Much more peaceful than the crazy lines at the nearby Starbucks, friendly staff, decent coffee! You can tell that all of the ingredients are of high quality. Only one note of caution: be careful not to leave your credit card in the machine- they have one of those little machines that hooks up to an iPad point of sale- and it's easy to get hypnotized by your cookie and just waltz right out of there with your card still in the machine. read more

My wife and I usually walk there on weekends since we live close by. Everything we have tried has been absolutely phenomenal. The Lattes are our go to, they are heavenly and beautifully designed. The staff is well trained and knowledgeable. A lot of artistry and love goes into their drinks and food alike. We usually are there before noon so we have the breakfast options to eat, like the egg sammie or the biscuit and jam. The jam is made fresh and either option is delicious. Their pastries are always well done and there is a lot to choose from. After noon they offer sandwiches on fresh baked focaccia and they're amazing. I found my macchiato to be overpriced. The employee at that register explained they serve a traditional macchiato which she said is espresso and steamed milk. I was confused why she told me this because I know what a macchiato is. (It means marked in Italian and refers to the espresso being on top of the drink versus under the steamed milk.) She clarified that some people think it comes with caramel and it doesn't. I waited a few minutes for my drink and then the barista set a 2oz cup, like the size of a cup you'd use for mouthwash on the counter. I was surprised that I had paid $3 for such a small portion. If I had known the size of the drink I wouldn't have ordered it. I wish the size of the drink had been communicated to me or mentioned on the menu. That's what bothered me most. read more
